Mum moved, reluctantly, to Greenacres three years ago. Gradually, with the help of all the staff, she settled into a routine which reduced her anxiety and enables her to live comfortably and safely. The food is very good which is important to Mum. Our family feel so fortunate that Mum is well cared
for at Greenacres. The staff are, without exception, kind and welcoming. Management and senior carers are professional and knowledgeable. Any (rare) concerns or questions which we have about Mum's care are always dealt with promptly and thoroughly. Greenacres work hard to maintain links with the local community and this is also something which we really appreciate.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at GreenacresWe'd like to extend our appreciation to you for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review. Positive reviews like this provide a real boost to our colleagues who work tirelessly to deliver the kindest possible care to residents. We appreciate your support and will strive to continue to uphold the highest standards for residents, visitors, and colleagues.

Having visited the home at least once or twice weekly over the last 2 and a half years I have always found the staff friendly and management always respond promptly to my queries and requests. During January they tried very hard to make my friend happy, encouraging participation in many activities including
a foot spa, quizzes, singsongs even letting her help on the reception area to help her feeling of lonliness. A very caring staff.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at GreenacresWe'd like to take a moment to thank you for leaving such a wonderful review of our home. It means so much to our colleagues when they receive this level of praise; they work tirelessly throughout the year to deliver the kindest possible care to residents and hearing such fantastic feedback is really the icing on the cake to them!Thank you, once again, for your kind words.

This was our first Christmas with mum being in Greenacres and we were really worried about how it would be! Happy to say they made Christmas very special for all the residents as they do all the time lots of activities and they include everyone! They all enjoy trips out and they even took mum and her
friend to the pub! Such a special place we are lucky and mum is so happy there.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at GreenacresThank you for sharing such positive feedback about our home. My mum and dad have both been settled at Greenacres since October 2024 and we've been really happy with the choice. The home is well maintained and always clean, tidy and there are a range of comfortable communal areas. The home is well run by a very competent management team and all the carers are
wonderful. They go to great lengths to attend to the residents needs and everyone is treated with respect and kindness. I am particularly impressed with the thought and effort that goes into the additional activities that are planned throughout the week.

My Mum resided at Greenacres Care Home from May 2022 to January 2025, when she died of old age. The care Mum received during this time was exemplary - we could not have wished for a more supportive, nurturing and caring environment. Mum flourished at Greenacres - her health improved, her cognitive abilities
improved, and she was much loved by all the staff. Thank you Greenacres for being such a fantastic care home.
Reply from HC-One Limited, Administrator at GreenacresThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a positive review of our home. A friend was admitted to Greenacres this year and is currently in the dementia unit. Overall the carers are kind and caring. Rooms and decor is good and the garden kept to a good standard of maintenance. I understand that the food is good and it's very good to see residents engaged in the range of activities
available. However, the smell of urine in the dementia unit is very unpleasant and at times overpowering. The communal carpet needs replacing after a deep clean of the flooring underneath.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at GreenacresThank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for the many positive comments, we are sorry to read that during your visits you have experienced an odour, we can assure you that this is not a general concern we have raised in the home and may have been following an accident, we do arrange regular carpet cleans at home level and also professional cleans, we also receive lots of positive feedback in regards the cleanliness of the home and the fantastic job our housekeeping team do. We have discussed this concern with our head housekeeper for it to be monitored, if you do notice anything you feel unhappy with at your visits please do raise this with a member of the team as we would hope your visits are both enjoyable and pleasant.

My father moved into Greenacres after the death of my mother and then returned from 30 years in New Zealand. The management and staff have been friendly, caring and understanding of the special circumstances and caring needs that my father needs. They have made the experience as pleasant as can be and
he has settled in well.
The care staff led by two carers on shift have been thoughtful, considerate; polite and courteous. They have made the necessary adjustments to his care plan as needed and are when possible extremely patient and helpful when I have made requests of them.
The accommodation is clean, beautifully decorated and imaginatively thought through.
I would have 100% confidence in placing my loved ones with Greenacres.

The decision to place a loved one in a care home is stressful for the family and even more so for the person entering. The home worked hard to make the process as easy as possible to negotiate and did everything possible to ease the transition and to make Mum quickly feel at home and part of the community.
The staff - both care and admin - were uniformly excellent, their attitude and activities undoubtedly helped my mother to adjust to the home where she is now very happy. The facilities are very very good, as are the available activities; her room is very comfortable and she enjoys the food.

My stepdad is happy here. He is always clean and enjoys the company and the activities. The home is light and welcoming and there is a good atmosphere about it when I visit. His only complaint is that he is a bit bored at times. However, we don't know if he has engaged in all the activities on offer
or not.

My nan is in Greenacres, and I can honestly say the standards and the care is exceptional. What I love the most is they make such a big deal out of special occasions and really go all out so the residents get involved. I come most days with my little girl, and they dont only make my nan feel welcome,
but myself and my daughter love coming. It's such a fun, friendly, loving atmosphere.

Greenacres provides great professional duty of care.
Mum is cared for to the highest standard and I am always kept informed of anything that happens and the staff also support me in the difficult dementia journey we are on.
The staff are caring and patient and treat residents with warmth and compassion.
The
activities are varied and the activities coordinator is always working hard to find new and enjoyable things to do that suit such a variety of residents.
I highly recommend Greenacres as a great home for your family member.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at GreenacresThank you for taking the time to write such a thorough and lovely review. Having used many homes with other members of our family and not having had a great experience you always worry about finding the right home, but I can't complement this team enough. The home is always clean and tidy, it is homely, when you walk in you nearly always see staff sat with the residents doing
something not just sat watching them. Not once have I had to ask them to get a GP for my mum, they always beat me to it, they are incredibly vigilant, caring and professional. They very quickly got to know mum and provide any support that she needs in a way that she can manage, which can be a challenge due to her dementia.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at GreenacresThank you for taking the time to write this lovely review. Our person-centred approach is key to helping us get to know our residents which, in turn, helps us to meet their needs quickly and effectively. The team enjoy building bonds with our residents, truly getting to know them and, often, picking up some tips and skills from them!

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.737)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.737) out of 10 for Greenacres is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.737 for Greenacres is calculated as follows: ( (269 Excellents x 5) + (77 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 353 Ratings = 4.737
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Greenacres is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
