1)TV cannot be seen from the bed - needs fixing to bracket on the wall.
2) Cupboard doors crash shut - needs slam proof hinges for silent closing.
3) Red alarm button: Response time is usually over 15-minutes so would be no good in an emergency. Eg - one night an old lady came into my room uninvited,
rummaged through my medication, ate my chocolate biscuits and got into bed with me. All this time always was activated and nobody came.
4) Lounge/dining area: Approximately ten dinners and four servers who don't have a system for serving and just get in each other's way. Table settings are never complete. One example - served a cup of coffee - no sugar offered or available on the table, sugar requested - sugar came but no teaspoon, teaspoon requested - teaspoon came, three trips to table for on cup of coffee! Also a shortage of spoons. I brought three from a charity shop and donated them but it didn't make any difference.
5) Food - Generally very basic - not appetising. Eg, Welsh Rarebit on menu - just melted cheese on a warm soggy white bread, not even toast.
Suggestions - Emergency alarm response time needs improving. Housekeeper or manager sits in during mealtimes to observe.

Very kind, caring staff. Any enquiries or problems regarding Mum are always dealt with very quickly and efficiently. Caring and kindnesses are not only shown to Mum, but to me as well which is very much appreciated. Greenacres to me is like a 5-star hotel, clean, well looked after, well furnished, brilliant
amenities and entertainment. All in all, in my opinion, is excellent. Making a heartbreaking decision to put Mum in a home was terrible but made better by the standard of care and kindness she receives.

My mum has been at Greenacres for nearly three years and is settled. The rooms are nice and clean, and the food/menus are good. It is nice that the carers on West Nab View are on most of the time so my mum can relate to them and I can ask, at any time, how she is and they tell me straight away.

Greenacres has been a wonderful place for my father to stay. From the quick and easy access to emergency respite care in April 19 followed by permanent care from June 19. The home is very well managed and all staff irrespective of role know my father's name and address him with patience, support and
a smile. The home and gardens are well maintained and my father's room is of a high standard. The care staff team are second to none and have given us complete peace of mind on his care at all times. The care plans are completed electronically and show all aspects of residents everyday life and medical support. The entertainment and trips allow my father to have quality of life, although living with Dementia.

My mum who is 99 and has vascular dementia has been in Greenacres for three and a half years. I am very impressed with the standard of care that she receives. The staff are really kind and caring. The home-cooked food is of good quality and quite varied, with choices. I always have peace of mind
that mum is being well looked after and is safe. I think with the new management on board it will get even better.

I place my Mum into Greenacres for respite care for 2 weeks while my husband and I went on holiday. We did this with a view to a permanent stay. Mum was looked after very well, apart from a slight problem with not changing her underwear. But she continually asked to go home. After a further weeks trial,
we decided it was too soon for her to go into permanent care. When, and if, she deteriorates to the point when she can't stay in her own home we would be happy to place her in Greenacres full time.

My grandad has been well cared for. I was worried at the beginning of his stay when he as falling (never done so at home). I feel his pull up pants should be changed more often during the day. The night shift changed him on every 2-hour check, I feel he is left sometimes a whole morning or afternoon
unchanged. On the whole, the staff are amazing and attentive, caring and respectful the treat my mum and me the same.

My mother has been a resident at Greenacres for the last four years and in this time I have seen great improvement in the management of the home itself and the management of the staff. Much more consistency in staffing allowing the staff to become more familiar to the residents - very necessary to the

Sarah Tomczynski

“I love working at Greenacres, we are all like a big family with our residents at the centre of everything we do”


Sarah has worked in care for over 18 years and has been at Greenacres for eight and has recently been promoted to Registered Home Manager. Sarah ensures that she is available to help lead the staff team to provide aspirational lifestyle choices for every single one of our residents. Sarah is on hand to answer any queries from our resident’s family and friends and will ensure that anyone coming to live with us can move in with as little disruption as possible. She constantly promotes independence for our residents and works with the Lifestyle Manager to provide regular exciting activities both within the home and on external trips.


Sarah has a certificate in Health and Social Care Management from Leeds Metropolitan University and has recently completed her NVQ Level 5 in Management of Adult and Children’s Services.
