I had a very pleasant stay at Cliveden Manor, Marlow and made some friends there over the weeks I was with you.

I was not happy with the meals which were mainly unappetising and often just about warm (cold).

The care home has the well-being of its residents as the number one priority. A wide range of activities including group and individual participation serve to keep residents fulfilled and entertained with plenty to look forward to. The rooms are warm and comfortable with excellent facilities throughout. My father spent his last months here and I know that he could not have been better looked after. My mother is now a permanent resident and always says that she loves her room. If she is happy then I can’t ask any more.

My sister-in-law has only been here a short while but she has well looked after. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and caring. They listen very carefully to residents and do their best to find a solution to any problem. There are plenty of activities for those able to do them.

The rooms are very good with all facilities and everywhere is bright and cheerful. The garden area is very pleasant.

For anyone looking for a care home, I would strongly advise them to visit Cliveden Manor. It is a very good care home. It is well run and has a happy atmosphere and all the staff whatever their status are kind and caring. It has two minibuses equipped to take wheelchairs for outings, musical entertainment and speakers are arranged to visit and structure activities are arranged on a daily basis. It has a gated walkway around the building for exercise with plenty of seats. It also has a patio area.

Dad has settled in well to his new surroundings. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food, although good, is a little repetitive. We hope that in time, Dad will find the confidence to partake in more activities as there is lots to do.

My mother initially found the transition from her own home difficult and needed a lot of support and help.
The care staff and reception team could not have been more helpful and sympathetic.

She is now settled in and is thriving.

There are a large number of activities and many of which I cannot use for medical reasons. The food is sometimes lacking in variety and somewhat overrated.

Mam went into Cliveden Manor in September 2014 initially into assisted living but after two months she went into The Willows. The care mam receives is always unfailing, professional and warm and all the time carried out with a smile. Mam can be quite difficult at times but she is always dealt with sympathetically and with reason. The best thing I can say to simplify my view on Cliveden Manor is that I sleep well at night knowing mam is being well looked after.

The support in discussing my father moving in and the process of him moving in was very good. As a resident, the support and engagement to all staff have been very good. As a residential facility, it is one that I'm sure all potential residents would aspire to live in.

I visit Cliveden Manor once or twice a week. There is always a friendly atmosphere and all staff from the carers, kitchen staff, receptionists, activities and even the laundry staff from the carers, kitchen staff, receptionists, activities and even the laundry staff who go out of their way to help my friend and her visitors.

I always feel welcome when I visit and would like to thank ALL the staff for their hard work.

My 95-year-old mother in law has been very happy since she moved in one year ago. She has settled into her new home very quickly thanks to the wonderful support from all the staff. She has more friends with other residents and now enjoys a quality of life that would not have been possible if she had remained in her old flat. I cannot recommend the home highly enough.

Signature Cliveden Manor is welcoming as soon as you enter, spotlessly clean, smiling staff who all have time to help but most important a sense of how independent residents are encouraged to be and how their dignity is paramount. The entertainments are fantastic and so varied it is hard not to find something to suit everyone.

Karen Holmes
Karen HolmesJob Title:Clinical Home ManagerJoined: 2024

I was born in Sunderland; however, my family emigrated to South Africa when I was a child, but I never forgot my roots and always knew I would return one day. I just didn’t know it would take me so long.

I completed my schooling and I enrolled on nursing. I qualified as a general Nurse, working a lot in the elderly people’s wards. After a few years, I transferred to paediatrics and ultimately settled in the Critical care units.

In 1990, I continued my training by specialising in Medical and Surgical Critical care with a speciality in Cardio-thoracic nursing. During my nursing career, I worked my way up from a Staff Nurse to a Deputy Nursing Manager of a 240-bed private hospital.

I returned to England in August 2018 and obtained my NMC pin by starting as a pre-registered nurse, completing the required English test, Nursing test and OSCE. I was lucky to be working within the Adult Social Care environment and was supported and mentored by my colleagues, and obtained my PIN in November 2018.

Following my successful enrolment with the NMC, I quickly worked my way up to becoming a Clinical Deputy Manager at a Care Home in London.

In 2022, I was chosen to be a Digital Champion for NCL. This role has allowed me to become involved in all the digital aspects of ASC and allowed me to share knowledge within our settings and obtain funding for the home to move from paper-based documents to digital technology.

On my days off, I love spending time with my children and grandchildren, reading a good book or just taking walks.

I am very committed to ensuring that our residents are at the centre of all that we do and are treated with care, dignity, and respect. I am always willing to listen to their concerns or just have a friendly chat.

I joined Cliveden Manor in March 2024 as a Clinical Deputy Manager. I completed my Level 5 Leadership and Management Programme in early 2025, and I was promoted from Clinical Deputy Manager to Clinical Home Manager in September 2025.

Nickisha joined Cliveden Manor Care Home as a nurse in March 2023 and she was promoted to Nursing Care Manager in January 2024 and later promoted to Clinical Deputy Manager in September 2025.

Louise Palmer
Louise PalmerJob Title:Client Liaison ManagerJoined: 2020

I joined Avery Health Care in 2020. Initially, I worked in Ascot Grange Home and I transferred to Cliveden Manor in August 2023.

I have been in sales for most of my career.

I worked with those who were requiring support in the property market and wishing to downsize which comes with personal involvement.

Having had to research a care home for my mother-in-law, I realised that the role of Customer Liaison Manager was one that I wished to pursue.

I thoroughly enjoy working in this environment, helping to support those looking for care or a lifestyle change for their family, it is rewarding to get to know the residents in such lovely surroundings and with the dedicated staff.

Sam Monk
Sam MonkJob Title:Business Administrator

I started my career as an administrator in a primary school in 2013, I moved to the care industry in 2018 and haven’t looked back since. Every day is different and I love the challenge it brings! Avery is a wonderful company to work for and I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to grow. Our values and ethos make the workplace a happy and thriving environment, which is something I hope to contribute to when recruiting for the home. In my role, I support Cliveden with finding the best team and making sure all our staff are happy and feel valued no matter what job they do. I hope the team feel they can approach me for anything, and my door is always open, even if I don’t know the answer to the question – I’ll always give it a go!

Sarah Knowles
Sarah KnowlesJob Title:Dementia Care ManagerJoined: 2023

I joined Cliveden Manor as a Dementia Care Manager in September 2023.

I previously worked as the Registered Manager at a Residential Home in Oxfordshire.

I worked there for 10 years, working my way up from care assistant through various roles and I was in the role of manager for over 4 years.

I have worked in the elderly care sector since 2011 and I knew straight away that it was a career that I wanted to follow.

I particularly have a passion for working with those living with dementia and doing all I can to enrich their lives.

My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009 and sadly passed away 6 years later. Helping to care for her made me realise that it was something that I wanted to do.

Cliveden Manor is a lovely home with a great reputation and I enjoy supporting my residents, family members and team members.

Toni Randall

I started as a care supervisor and I worked my way up to Residential Care Manager in August 2023. I manage the Assisted Living Department at Cliveden Manor, and I support our General Manager and Deputy Manager with the management of the home.

I am driven by ensuring all our residents receive exceptional person-centred care, as the residents are my priority. As the Residential Care Manager, I work alongside a fantastic and committed team of carers who are equally passionate about the care we provide.

I have worked in the Hospitality Industry since 1979 within many different restaurant environments, delivering high standards of service. Cliveden Manor was my first experience in the care industry, I started here in 2018 and I haven’t looked back since! I find my role very enjoyable and rewarding. I like to meet different residents and listen to their comments and I endeavour to make sure myself and the team live up to their high expectations.

Having previously been accustomed to roles in the customer service and retail industry I joined the Signature family in Sept 2019. My knowledge and experience of community, charity and social events have been paramount to my objectives and ideas for our residents. I began my signature career as an Activities Assistant, achieving a Level 2 qualification in the principles of dementia care. I have now taken the role of Activities Supervisor supporting the activities team and working hard to introduce a wide range of fun activities and events to enhance the mental and physical well-being of the residents of Cliveden Manor. I am privileged to be part of an amazing team and to be able to work together to cultivate a stimulating and varied lifestyle for our residents.

I started as a Food & Beverage Assistant in 2015 and worked my way up to Restaurant Supervisor. Since then, I have been able to work with some amazing people, I’ve learnt so many new things and have created a lot of wonderful memories!
