Bentley House is a purpose-built care home offering exceptional residential, nursing, dementia and respite care within a luxurious environment. From the moment residents and visitors arrive, they are met by a caring team who are passionate about creating a place that truly feels like home.

Life at Bentley House is shaped by the people who live there. Residents enjoy two elegant restaurants, with menus chosen by the resident committee. The stunning cinema is a popular space, often filled with visiting grandchildren. A dedicated Wellbeing and Lifestyle Team curates a rich programme of trips, visiting speakers, one-to-one time and activities, all guided by resident choice and regular forums.

The one-bedroom suites are more like private apartments than traditional care rooms. Each offers a separate bedroom, lounge and kitchenette, alongside a full en-suite wet room. These spacious apartments are double the size of those found in many care homes and are ideal for those who value extra space or for couples who wish to remain together. Studio apartments are also available for those who prefer something a little more compact.

While Bentley House boasts outstanding facilities, it is the care that truly defines the home. A wide range of needs is supported, from those who are relatively independent to residents requiring more complex care. The team pride themselves on providing discreet, personalised support that respects independence, dignity and choice at every stage of life.

A very pleasant environment. Caring and patient staff. The food menu is extremely tasty and well received by residents. Staff have provided activities despite the Covid Pandemic, which is appreciated. Bentley House has maintained a safe and secure environment throughout this Covid crisis, which is to
be congratulated.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseThank you for your kind review - yes the food is extremely tasty indeed. Our monthly food forums with our residents are taken very seriously, so any food preferences that the Residents requests are taken on board.

My parents moved into Bentley House together in March, and every single member of staff was so welcoming and caring towards them both. Sadly my mother was extremely frail, but they offered her outstanding palliative care in line with her wishes, and I could not have asked for more in her final days.
They continue to care for my father with such kindness, compassion and genuine interest in him and have been so kind to us too. I did a lot of research before choosing this home for my parents, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a 'home from home' for their loved one.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseThank you for your very kind review. Your father is a wonderful gentleman, and we will continue to take great care of him.

The last 13 months have been really tough for everyone, especially not being able to see Mum when/as often as we were doing before the pandemic. The team at Bentley House have been absolutely amazing throughout the whole 13-months, putting the resident's needs at the heart of everything they've done.
The residents have been kept safe, healthy and secure throughout. Zoom calls have been arranged for whenever we needed them - weekly, special occasions etc.

We had our first visit with Mum inside Bentley House yesterday (21st April) after a long 6-months, and her joy at being able to see us in person was immeasurable. It was a lovely 45 minutes for both her and us.

Hopefully, things will continue to improve and we can get back to visiting as we did before.

Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseThank you for your very kind review - it was actually amazing to witness Mums beaming smile when she saw you for the first time in 6 months, very heartwarming indeed.

Very caring and helpful. The staff have always been extremely approachable and willing to answer any queries we have. We feel that my mother-in-law is cared for and protected at Bentley House and is starting to feel at home following her sudden bereavement.

Heartfelt thanks to all at Bentley House for their safety measures at this time, coupled with the humanity of both relatives and residents. It is a very worrying time, but I have found all the staff at Bentley to be so reassuring and helpful. My husband has improved in the last 6-months. I think this
is down to the fact that they have kept him so safe and at the same time found ways for him to progress. I wish all homes were like Bentley.

My mother-in-law has been at Bentley House for just over two years, and I cannot fault the place. The staff have been wonderful during the Covid outbreak and have done everything to make the residents feel comfortable and in touch with their relatives. We have a FaceTime call, set up by the home each
week, and more recently, we have been able to visit in person with every precaution being taken by Bentley House. The photos don't do the place justice. Standards are very high and when you enter, it's like going into a hotel. During normal times, pre-covid, you are free to use the lounge whilst visiting, make drinks and help yourself to cakes. My mum-in-law is particularly happy that we can take our dog in to visit her too. The staff are very good and respect the residents at all times. Highly recommend Bentley House.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseThank you very much for your fantastic view of our beautiful home. We are pleased to hear that even during these trying times, we continue to make all our residents feel as comfortable as possible.

My wife and I have been very impressed with the service that the Bentley House team have provided for my parents, who are both in their 90s. They receive round-the-clock care and live in a warm, friendly and welcoming environment. It's not their home, but it's as close as they could get to one.

Very impressed with all the staff. In a very challenging time, where guidance and restrictions seem to change daily, every member of staff I have had contact with has been extremely supportive and gone out of their way to welcome and help my mother settle in. Many activities have had to be adapted but
the activities team have risen to the task. I am very grateful to everyone for their care and attention.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseMany thanks for your kind review - yes guidance and restrictions do tend to change quite a lot at the moment which we will continue to support to keep our Residents in a safe environment. We do however pray that things will regain some normality very soon. We will continue to not let this pandemic take the love, care and attention away from our wonderful Residents.

Since the country began dealing with the restrictions of the covid pandemic, the staff at Bentley House have been amazing.
They have worked together to give my father the very best care we could wish for, giving me peace of mind at this time.
The staff have gone above and beyond their allotted duties
on numerous occasions to give my father the best quality of life possible to him.
For example, on his 100th birthday, they not only arranged a lovely luncheon and afternoon tea with cake and champagne but also produced a video of his life with pictures and videos sent in by family members. On another occasion, a staff member went shopping on her way home to try and purchase something to help my father with the skin picking, associated with his dementia.
The staff have stayed upbeat and positive throughout this time and with strict safety measures in place have kept the home and residents covid free.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseSuch a wonderful review! We are very glad that we could celebrate Dad's 100th Birthday with him, he had a wonderful day. We continue to go above and beyond for all of our Residents and are always happy to support any requirements needed even if it is popping to a shop after work, no problem at all! Many thanks.

When we moved my Aunt to Bentley House, 5-years ago, we knew, after only a short time, that we had made the right choice for her. Although she was a little uncertain at first, the staff were so welcoming and quickly helped to make her feel comfortable and secure. The carer who greeted us on that first
day is still there today and still as friendly and welcoming. A good staff team.
We were keen to replicate the flat my Aunt was leaving and having her own apartment at Bentley House was perfect for her. The staff are always very, very patient and caring and make a point of getting to know all the residents well and their visitors. My Aunt is now 101-years, and I cannot fault the attention she has received. Staff always telephone me on the outcome of GP visits or any changes to her medication or condition.
The handling of the pandemic by staff and management at Bentley House has been exemplary.
My Aunt once said to me, 'you should book your place here, dear". I think that says it all!
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseWe are so pleased to hear that you know your Aunt made the right choice in choosing Bentley House. The care team here are amazing and it's always good to pass on these wonderful comments so they know they are doing an outstanding job of looking after your auntie and all of our other Residents. Many thanks.

I am so grateful to all the staff at Bentley House for everything that they have done to enable my mother's move to go so smoothly and to help her settle in so quickly. From arranging her own furniture and pictures as she wanted them; helping her with I.T. issues with her phone so we can keep in daily
touch with her and facilitating weekly visits in a carefully considered and safe way, the staff at Bentley House have done everything they can to make her feel at home and settled in very challenging circumstances. The moving in team have been a fantastic support to me. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. I'm grateful to the activities team for downloading podcasts of services from my mother's local church for her and for the daily activities packs. Everyone is friendly and professional. It is a great comfort to know that my mum is in such good care.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseThank you for your very kind review - we will continue to give Mum the best care and make her feel very much at home. Good service from CRM and move-in coordinator. Father was pleased with the room he was given, very comfortable for him in the week he was there.
Care/staff exceptional. No activities sadly and restaurant not open, despite COVID other homes do.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseThank you for you review - it was an absolute pleasure having your Father stay with us. We are so pleased that Dad was comfortable and liked his apartment. We do have to follow guidelines due to COVID, so unfortunately our residents can only take part in small groups meaning that activities are limited per person. In normal circumstances, we would have 7 activities each day for all of the Residents.

As you will see from below, I am very well satisfied with Bentley House and very appreciated of the opportunities you provide to keep our minds ticking over. Under the present COVID restrictions it's a bit tedious (can't get to the bank or shops) but they will not last forever and when safe you will
let us kick up our heels again. Thank you one and all.
PS: Was interested to see the photographs on the walls on the ground floor - so many good looking people to look after us.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.783)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.783) out of 10 for Signature at Bentley House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.783 for Signature at Bentley House is calculated as follows: ( (313 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 346 Ratings = 4.783
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Signature at Bentley House is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have had the pleasure of being part of the Bentley House family since 2018, working in a variety of roles across the home. In my current position, I am the first point of contact for families beginning their journey to find the right caring environment for their loved ones.

I truly enjoy welcoming people into Bentley House and showcasing our exceptional facilities, luxurious surroundings and the incredible team who make our home so special. Supporting families at such an important time and helping them feel confident in their decisions is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2023

I began my career in care at the age of 16, working part-time as a Housekeeper while still at college. Spending time with residents quickly sparked a passion for care, and I soon left college to become a full-time Care Assistant. I spent my first ten years in the sector before taking the opportunity to travel, exploring Thailand, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia and South America over 18 months.

On my return, I spent the next 14 years developing my career from Senior Care Assistant to Assisted Living Coordinator, then Regional Care Coordinator, supporting homes across the business before stepping into a General Manager role. I later joined Signature Senior Lifestyle, first as General Manager at Elton House and then transferring to Bentley House.

With 30 years in the care industry, I feel just as passionate about supporting residents today as I did when I was 16. Providing exceptional care, leadership, and a true sense of home for our residents continues to be a privilege and a joy.
