Signature at Bentley House

Very impressed with all the staff. In a very challenging time, where guidance and restrictions seem to change daily, every member of staff I have had contact with has been extremely supportive and gone out of their way to welcome and help my mother settle in. Many activities have had to be adapted but the activities team have risen to the task. I am very grateful to everyone for their care and attention.

The staff have stayed upbeat and positive throughout this time and with strict safety measures in place have kept the home and residents covid free.

My Aunt once said to me, 'you should book your place here, dear". I think that says it all!

I am so grateful to all the staff at Bentley House for everything that they have done to enable my mother's move to go so smoothly and to help her settle in so quickly. From arranging her own furniture and pictures as she wanted them; helping her with I.T. issues with her phone so we can keep in daily touch with her and facilitating weekly visits in a carefully considered and safe way, the staff at Bentley House have done everything they can to make her feel at home and settled in very challenging circumstances. The moving in team have been a fantastic support to me. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. I'm grateful to the activities team for downloading podcasts of services from my mother's local church for her and for the daily activities packs. Everyone is friendly and professional. It is a great comfort to know that my mum is in such good care.

Having looked after my father until he passed away, the lovely staff at Bentley House continue to care for my mum who has Dementia and during lockdown, this especially gives us peace of mind knowing Mum is safe and well cared for. Thank you to all the staff.

Pleasant experience. Very comfortable. Only one thing menu restriction for a Celiac. But I've given top marks as you deserve top marks. I would come again.

Care/staff exceptional. No activities sadly and restaurant not open, despite COVID other homes do.

PS: Was interested to see the photographs on the walls on the ground floor - so many good looking people to look after us.

My time at Bentley House has been very well spent and efficient, yet relaxed and comfortable.

Of course, things have changed with this virus and has made everything difficult for the staff. Generally, this has been good.

I have been in residence since 22nd July 2019 and am quite happy to stay here for the rest of my life. My views are reflected in my answers given to the questions below.

This place is excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Everything just fine, if not I would have already done something about it!

A week ago I received an envelope in the post and inside was a lovely picture of my great aunt holding an orange fabric heart which was also in the envelope, this was a lovely touch and made me feel connected to her after all the weeks of not being able to go and visit. I would highly recommend Bentley House.

My aunt has been very happy for the almost 3-years she has lived in Bentley House. All her night worries were taken away once she lived there. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Especially so now that she is in her room for meals as well because of Covid-19. She takes the opportunity to walk along the corridor as much as possible. She is lucky in that she has a delightful view from her window of trees and greenery which changes with the seasons. Thank you for making her feel so at home.

My 91-year-old mother has been a resident at the home since July 2017 and throughout the last 33 months, the care and support she has received has been excellent. Inevitably her health and mental capacity have declined over his period and the home has dealt with each hurdle with care and sensitivity. She has now moved to the Cedars floor for full-time dementia care which means I know she is safe and looked after 24/7. The facilities at the home are excellent, sadly my mother has not always embraced everything that is offered but that has been her choice.

I've been very pleased with the care and attitude the staff have shown my Dad and all the residents. They are often in touch with updates on him and are conscientious in noticing things he needs. The staff seem relaxed and happy (though I know it must get harder than this) and this is very reassuring to know Dad is in this atmosphere. The staff I talk to seem to genuinely like my Dad and brighten when they talk about him. The home is always beautifully clean and tidy and calm. The food is not only of a very high standard, but it is served in a friendly and professional manner. This is another point of comfort for me because I imagine the occasion of mealtimes can be an important social highlight of the day for residents, and Bentley House clearly make it special and reliably enjoyable. I've witnessed many occasions where a staff member helps a resident who is more alone than normal, or confused or upset. Great work from a great team.

We are currently in unprecedented times and the staff at Bentley House have risen to the challenge with great courage, commitment and skill. It was recently my mother's Birthday and they arranged a 'pamper session' for the morning, her room was decorated with balloons and they arranged for a cake, some prosecco and snacks in the afternoon. She had a lovely day even though she was 'confined to quarters'. You hear how many older residents are losing their lives in care homes across Europe, so it is of great comfort to family and friends that their dear ones are being looked after so well.
