Bentley House is a purpose-built care home offering exceptional residential, nursing, dementia and respite care within a luxurious environment. From the moment residents and visitors arrive, they are met by a caring team who are passionate about creating a place that truly feels like home.

Life at Bentley House is shaped by the people who live there. Residents enjoy two elegant restaurants, with menus chosen by the resident committee. The stunning cinema is a popular space, often filled with visiting grandchildren. A dedicated Wellbeing and Lifestyle Team curates a rich programme of trips, visiting speakers, one-to-one time and activities, all guided by resident choice and regular forums.

The one-bedroom suites are more like private apartments than traditional care rooms. Each offers a separate bedroom, lounge and kitchenette, alongside a full en-suite wet room. These spacious apartments are double the size of those found in many care homes and are ideal for those who value extra space or for couples who wish to remain together. Studio apartments are also available for those who prefer something a little more compact.

While Bentley House boasts outstanding facilities, it is the care that truly defines the home. A wide range of needs is supported, from those who are relatively independent to residents requiring more complex care. The team pride themselves on providing discreet, personalised support that respects independence, dignity and choice at every stage of life.

I chose Bentley House for my great aunt's end of life who was coming up 101 and we were told by the hospital she only had 6 months to live. She is now approaching 104 and since day one she has received the best of care and we couldn't have asked for any more. If we hadn't have chosen this home I honestly
would say my great aunt would not be here today.
With unprecedented times Bentley House were quick off the mark to protect their residents and staff and to make sure all the PPE was in place for what was happening.
A week ago I received an envelope in the post and inside was a lovely picture of my great aunt holding an orange fabric heart which was also in the envelope, this was a lovely touch and made me feel connected to her after all the weeks of not being able to go and visit. I would highly recommend Bentley House.

My aunt has been very happy for the almost 3-years she has lived in Bentley House. All her night worries were taken away once she lived there. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Especially so now that she is in her room for meals as well because of Covid-19. She takes the opportunity to walk
along the corridor as much as possible. She is lucky in that she has a delightful view from her window of trees and greenery which changes with the seasons. Thank you for making her feel so at home.

My 91-year-old mother has been a resident at the home since July 2017 and throughout the last 33 months, the care and support she has received has been excellent. Inevitably her health and mental capacity have declined over his period and the home has dealt with each hurdle with care and sensitivity.
She has now moved to the Cedars floor for full-time dementia care which means I know she is safe and looked after 24/7. The facilities at the home are excellent, sadly my mother has not always embraced everything that is offered but that has been her choice.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseMany thanks for your very kind review. Mum seems to be doing really well within our Dementia community.

The moment we walked into Bentley House, we knew that we wanted our Aunt to move in.
She moved in at the beginning of March and settled in immediately. Everything is lovely from the general surroundings, the cafe, restaurant, activities room, cinema and individual apartments.
The staff are all excellent.
We
were only able to visit our Aunt for a couple of weeks before the lockdown came into place, but we have had regular video communication with her and she looks very well.
We know that the staff are working extremely hard under difficult circumstances at the moment, and want to pass on our thanks to all of them.
We look forward to when we are able to come and visit our Aunt at Bentley House again.
Keep up the good work.

I am very grateful for the care provided by your staff. I know clients can sometimes be awkward but the carers seem to have endless patience.
I also think the food is very good and nourishing and I know that my mother has to be encouraged to eat and drink.
Thank you for everything even though messages
sometimes go astray!

I've been very pleased with the care and attitude the staff have shown my Dad and all the residents. They are often in touch with updates on him and are conscientious in noticing things he needs. The staff seem relaxed and happy (though I know it must get harder than this) and this is very reassuring
to know Dad is in this atmosphere. The staff I talk to seem to genuinely like my Dad and brighten when they talk about him. The home is always beautifully clean and tidy and calm. The food is not only of a very high standard, but it is served in a friendly and professional manner. This is another point of comfort for me because I imagine the occasion of mealtimes can be an important social highlight of the day for residents, and Bentley House clearly make it special and reliably enjoyable. I've witnessed many occasions where a staff member helps a resident who is more alone than normal, or confused or upset. Great work from a great team.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseThank you for your fantastic review. This will be appreciated by all staff members who always go above and beyond. They will be very pleased to hear that you are happy with the way Dad is being cared for as they always strive for excellence.

We are currently in unprecedented times and the staff at Bentley House have risen to the challenge with great courage, commitment and skill. It was recently my mother's Birthday and they arranged a 'pamper session' for the morning, her room was decorated with balloons and they arranged for a cake, some
prosecco and snacks in the afternoon. She had a lovely day even though she was 'confined to quarters'. You hear how many older residents are losing their lives in care homes across Europe, so it is of great comfort to family and friends that their dear ones are being looked after so well.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseThank you so very much for your wonderful review - the Residents are our main focus and if they are happy, then the staff are happy, so pleased Mum is doing so well here.

Mum has been at Bentley House since August last year and we are really happy with the exceptionally good care she has been getting. We feel that every member of staff at the home goes out of their way to make Mum feel comfortable, happy and really cared for. During these weeks of lockdown, we feel
that Mum is in the safest of hands and that everyone is doing their best to keep up high standards of care, support and safety as well as keeping morale high during this most difficult of times. We could not have made a better choice of Care home for our Mum, everyone that works at Bentley House is worth their weight in gold, they are all amazing. We are very grateful and thankful to each and every one of the members of staff, they are simply the best.

My Mother has been at Bentley House for 5 years and has consistently received high-quality care and attention. She has a positive relationship with her regular carers and her needs are well met.
During the Covid-19 pandemic family members have been kept well-informed about the policies adopted by
Bentley House and the safety and well-being of the residents have been at the heart of all such policies. I have particularly welcomed the newsletter updates and also the opportunities to videocall with my Mother during this time. She has remained positive throughout this challenging time and has been very well supported. Well done to the team and thank you all so very much.

This was my first experience if a winter break in a care home and the result was just what I expected. The place was very clean, and activities were available in the morning and at afternoon periods. The staff soon knew you by your Christian name and were always very polite and helpful. In fact, the
staff could not be more concerned about your health and well-being during ones stay. I would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends. Thank you.

Mum's been here for a few months now, and I cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention she receives from the care staff, entertainments and staffing at meals. Speaking of meals, they are like going to a top restaurant. Mum has improved a lot since being here and that's all due to everyone
that works here. A very big thank you.

I am a carer for my wife who has dementia. Like most other carers in my position, I found it demanding, upsetting and extremely tiring. Although I had excellent support from family, friends and various organisations I reached the stage where I was feeling totally worn out and didn't see how I could
carry on. My daughters were very concerned and started to research care homes which offered respite care. They came up with, and visited Bentley House and were impressed. I took the difficult step of visiting with my wife and everything was very straightforward regarding admission. My wife accepted my truthful explanation that I needed a break to avoid being ill.
Everything from the rooms, entertainment, food and care have been first class and I feel great and ready to return her home shortly, after two weeks care. It is also a comfort to know that I could fall back on this again should the need arise.
Any concerns are dealt with professionally and with great reassurance. Highly recommended.

My mum was extremely ill several months ago, so I decided to move her closer to me, which meant moving her from her house in London to Bentley Care Home. This was a huge change for my mum, but with the level of care from all of the staff has been outstanding, not only to my mum but to myself also. My
mum always said, that if I ever moved her to a care home, she would disown me. Well, this is no ordinary home more like a luxurious hotel, and to be very honest, I would happily live there myself. Bentley House is decorated and furnished to the highest standard, the food is delicious, and the staff always go above and beyond to assist our needs. Since my mum has moved here, she is now so much better within herself, both mentally and physically. We are now able to enjoy quality time together and recently went on holiday overseas. Something we would not have been able to do a few months ago, and for that, I will forever be grateful to Bentley House, for their constant care.
Reply from Kendra Bray, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Bentley HouseThank you so much for your extremely kind words and positive feedback. We are so pleased that Mum is doing so well. She has some fascinating stories for us all here and we love to sit and chat. She certainly is a big part of our Bentley family.

My father has been residing in Bently House for the last two years in which time he has received first-class care on all levels, treated with dignity and respect at all times. Where do I begin with the wonderful staff, there are not enough words of thanks I could give to each and every one of them,
for the kindness yet totally professional service they have given to us. Although my father did not take part in activities, there seem to be things to do most of the day. The food in the restaurant is excellent, and again the staff are most helpful in assisting where needed. Rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable as is the whole building it's a wonderful environment to go and visit your loved ones. I was fearful of putting my dad into a care home after him being so independent, but have no regrets as these last two years have been wonderful for him. He has loved being at Bently House and having the company - as he says of the lovely staff that have loved him as a friend, not just a resident.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.783)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.783) out of 10 for Signature at Bentley House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.783 for Signature at Bentley House is calculated as follows: ( (313 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 346 Ratings = 4.783
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Signature at Bentley House is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Spending time with residents quickly sparked a passion for care, and I soon left college to become a full-time Care Assistant. I spent my first ten years in the sector before taking the opportunity to travel, exploring Thailand, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia and South America over 18 months.

On my return, I spent the next 14 years developing my career from Senior Care Assistant to Assisted Living Coordinator, then Regional Care Coordinator, supporting homes across the business before stepping into a General Manager role. I later joined Signature Senior Lifestyle, first as General Manager at Elton House and then transferring to Bentley House.

With 30 years in the care industry, I feel just as passionate about supporting residents today as I did when I was 16. Providing exceptional care, leadership, and a true sense of home for our residents continues to be a privilege and a joy.
