Signature at Coombe Hill Manor is an established home situated in the beautiful surroundings of Kingston-Upon-Thames. The home is purpose built and offers exceptional accommodation, which is affordable and of a very high standard. Headed up by a very experienced General Manager, the team at Coombe Hill Manor offers a very warm welcome to all - it is a care home like no other in the area.

Coombe Hill Manor is proud to offer two fully licensed restaurants, the menu being dictated by current residents and an in-house café for residents and visitors to enjoy afternoon tea and homemade cakes. There is also a large Wellbeing and Lifestyle Team which provide trips out, visiting speakers, performers and activities. There is also an in-house hair salon, spa and treatment room.

A typical one bedroom suite offers a bedroom and separate lounge and kitchen with a full en-suite wet room. It is unique in that the home offers double the space of most care homes and it is ideal for those wanting extra room or for couples who want to stay together. There are also smaller studios for those who prefer something more cosy. The rooms come unfurnished allowing residents to bring those special objects, which helps the settling in process.

Residents range from those who are relatively independent and still drive through to those who require full nursing, dementia or end of life care. Coombe Hill provides discreet support in a place which is not institutional and as much like home as possible.

My mother moved into Coombe Hill Manor in February. From being shown the rooms available and discussions regarding the care package, the service has been exceptional. Moving there has improved the quality of her life, with a full range of activities, from professional musician recitals, outings and
other activities such as arts and films.
There is a high standard of cooking and excellent facilities with a restaurant, coffee shop and bistro. In addition, there are lounges and a salon.

I would like to thank the team at Coombe Hill Manor for looking after my friend, who has been staying there since January 2023. Staff are friendly, compassionate and attentive. The accommodation is beautiful, clean and kept neat at all times. Her apartment is spacious with earthy colour furniture, which
feels very calm. They have a good range of activities, and residents are encouraged to participate. The food is good. My friend is physically and emotionally stronger and in a much better place since she moved to this care home.

My wife was sadly diagnosed as suffering from Alzheimer's. She was looked after at home until such time as this was no longer feasible, and we chose Coombe Hill Manor on recommendation and because of its convenient location.
We felt she could not have been better cared for. Family and friends visited
- which Coombe Hill made as convenient as possible in view of the difficult lockdown conditions in place at the time.
Every effort was made to keep myself and our sons informed as to my wife's welfare and our attending the home for periodic discussions with management and staff.
It was noticeable that my wife and her surroundings were always clean and tidy and that she received the required assistance with eating. She was encouraged to participate in a variety of activities for as long as she was able to do so.
On behalf of myself and my family, I am happy to recommend Coombe Hill Manor for those who, unfortunately, are not in good health and need care home facilities.
Reply from Jane Knight, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Coombe Hill ManorThank you so much for your heartfelt comments and the great care you have taken in writing such a thoughtful review. It means such a lot to our care team, and I will share this with them; it will be greatly appreciated.

My mother tried it out for four weeks as respite care. Initially, she thought she would prefer to stay in her own home. However, she had a bad fall and decided to move there permanently in January last year.
She enjoyed meeting people and making new friends. Because there is a separate Dementia wing,
the residents in the main part are not suffering from bad memory loss.
The food was varied, and I thought very good. My mother complained from time to time, but she was one of life's complainers.
The apartment was beautiful, and she loved it. A double bedroom, sitting room with kitchenette, and ensuite shower room. Plus a balcony.
The activities are so varied with something to suit most. She loved the games (scrabble, countdown, categories), exercise classes, live music and singalongs.
The care and nursing staff were amazingly kind.
For half her time there, it was in Covid lockdown, but I could visit every day as I was her designated essential caregiver.
Sadly she died in December.

My sister and I were initially concerned about moving our father, with his agreement, into a care home and after searching high and low, I finally chanced upon Coombe Hill Manor. To say it was a delightful surprise is an understatement. As soon as we walked through the door, we knew we had found the
right place. The residents we met were happy, contented and obviously very well cared for. They also had daily activities, which meant they were constantly stimulated rather than sitting bored and ignored in a dark corner. The staff were enthusiastic, friendly, charming and patient with the residents. Our father has now been at Coombe Hill since early September and has well and truly settled in. He calls the care home a hotel, and quite frankly, I'd be happy to stay there for a while: it's clean, beautifully decorated and has a stunning garden. Congratulations to all the staff; you are doing a fab job!

Sometimes the food is not hot enough. All servers in the restaurant are very helpful, polite and cheerful.

My 90-year-old father was a resident at Coombe Hill Manor for a month of respite care following a crack to his pelvis resulting from a fall at home. I couldn't think of a better place for him to recuperate before going back to his own home. The management team at the home handled his arrival from the
hospital really smoothly, and the nursing staff and care team were kind, caring, considerate and efficient. They treated Dad with respect and dignity. The one-bedroom apartment he stayed in was very warm, clean, spacious, well-maintained and comfortable. The food was excellent, varied and nutritious. We always felt welcome to visit, which was important in maintaining his morale. I would not hesitate to recommend Coombe Hill Manor to someone looking for professional respite care for a loved one.

My mum was a short-term resident at Coombe Hill following a short illness; she needed some respite care. As a family, we were very keen to ensure that we found somewhere near my mother's own home. Coombe Hill fitted the bill perfectly. My mother really needed her short stay (4 weeks), and feeling much
better at the end of it, and has returned to her own home.
My mother really enjoyed having her own apartment, and the staff were amazing and really looked after her.
Thank you to all at Coombe Hill.

My mum was a resident at Coombe Hill Manor for five years from the age of 92 when she started to get anxious about running her own home. I couldn't think of a better place for her to be to spend the last five years of her life. When she first moved there, she was more able and loved the numerous activities
and outings, which happen every day. She loved the high standard of cooking (she was quite a gourmet chef herself), the beautiful garden and the camaraderie of other residents and staff. She enjoyed having her own apartment with familiar furniture from her old house and all the facilities that the home had to offer, e.g. hairdressing, chiropody, film shows, exercise classes, etc.
Latterly, when she was less able and getting very confused, the most important part to me was the care and attention she received - not just physically but emotionally. The staff couldn't have been more kind, caring, considerate and efficient. It gave me great comfort that she was in such an amazing place.

I have Power of Attorney for a family friend and needed to find a care home for her at short notice. Fortunately, she was able to go to Coombe Hill Manor quickly, initially for respite care, which then became full-time residential care. This was a big upheaval for her, but she was received in a sensitive,
caring and professional way. The home is clean and tidy, the staff welcoming and friendly, and the food is excellent. My friend always looks fresh, clean and well looked after. Her medical care is first-rate. I feel that she is monitored in a sensitive way, and her changing needs are accommodated accordingly. I would be happy to recommend Coombe Hill as a place of excellent care.

My mother stayed at Coombe Hill Manor for a two-week respite break. She was very much welcomed by the staff and residents. She had everything that she needed. The garden was an extra bonus. She also came back with a lovely painting, which she painted, at the arts and crafts group activity. This has
now been framed and is the pride of place in her living room at home. A very big thank you to all the staff that looked after Mum.

My mother has been at Coombe Hill Manor for a year. She has quite severe dementia. The staff at Coombe are extremely patient and kind. My mum is always treated with dignity and sensitivity. She has a lovely room which is always clean and tidy. The food is good, and her changing dietary needs are catered

The staff have done an amazing job in coping with the ever-changing rules of Covid and the difficulties this has caused. I would have no hesitation in recommending Combe Hill Manor as an excellent care home.

I, together with my family, felt very conflicted about sending our 83-year-old mother, who has been suffering from dementia for a couple of years into a care home. However, after in-depth research, we found Coombe Hill Manor, and we are so pleased we did. We could not ask for better care. Apart from
the very smart and comfortable building with the most beautiful garden. The carers are all lovely and genuinely interested in their residents and go above and beyond to ensure they are happy. There is a wonderful schedule of activities for all tastes and all levels, as well as trips out and what has been so important to us is the regular communication we get from the home together with photos and videos involving us in our mother's day-to-day life. We have been very happy, so far, and our mother has settled in very well. Our minds are at rest knowing our mother is receiving the best possible care.

Our mother came to Coombe Hill Manor in very difficult circumstances. The staff treated her with respect and were very patient with her, even though she was a very difficult resident. The food is fantastic, and we always looked forward to eating there. They went above and beyond and made things as special
as they could for her. They celebrated her birthday when we couldn't and kept the home Covid free, which I find incredible. We are so grateful for the attention to her care towards the end when the staff and nurses were so attentive and made sure she was comfortable, and for this, we are particularly grateful.
My mother was kept safe, and we could not have asked for more.

When I realised that two friends need quality care in good surroundings, we visited several places, but after coming to Coombe Hill, the decision was easy to make. The client liaison manager was so very helpful in sorting everything out so efficiently and quickly, and it was a pleasure to have dealt

My parents would both have been at the difficult end of the spectrum of residents of any care home. I believe the staff were very patient in dealing with them, and several individuals went to considerable trouble to improve their contentment. One always had the sense of thorough and diligent management.
Liaison with key relations was always helpful and down-to-earth.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 104 registered maximum number of service users is 20.8, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Client Liaison Manager

As Client Liaison Manager, I am your first point of contact when you make an initial enquiry. I am committed to handling your enquiry with care and integrity, supporting you and any loved ones throughout the process, from initial viewing to move-in, and offering my full support, trust and guidance, as well as a listening ear. Having spent most of my career working within the banking and finance sector, my years working in social care have been very enlightening for me. I have learnt so much about elderly care and continue to learn something new each day. I have also had the honour of meeting some wonderful people and it has been a privilege to be part of their personal journey. I can truly say that this is the best job in the world, where each day brings a new challenge and experience.

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2015

Growing up in a family of three nurses, it felt only natural to follow in their footsteps. I qualified in South Africa after completing a four-year Integrated Nursing Course at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town, becoming qualified in General Nursing, Midwifery, Psychiatry and Community Healthcare. Wanting to deepen my knowledge, I went on to specialise for an additional year in Mental Health.

After travelling and working across Europe, including Switzerland, Greece and Israel, I settled in the UK and spent 15 years with one of Bupa’s largest nursing homes, progressing through roles including Nurse, Clinical Services Manager, Training Coordinator and Deputy Manager. During this time, I studied Dementia at Kingston University, gained my mentorship qualification at City University, and led the home to achieve Gold Standards Framework Beacon status for End of Life Care, the highest accolade in this field, which the home continues to hold.

I joined Signature at Coombe Hill Manor as Care Services Manager and was appointed General Manager in June 2016. I am deeply passionate about resident care and ensuring the highest standards are reached and maintained. Every person in our community has a voice, and we are here to support their choices, respect their dignity, and provide the care they need to begin a new chapter at Coombe Hill Manor. Together with a wonderful team, we focus on creating meaningful moments, always asking, what else can we do, and providing true peace of mind for families.

Job Title: Residential Care Manager

I started my career in care after graduating from university in 2018, and I became a carer whilst figuring out what I wanted to do long term, but after a few weeks, I knew I wanted to progress my career in the care sector. Shortly after this, I became a Care and Training Practitioner, progressing to Care Coordinator and then became a Registered Branch Manager with the CQC in a span of 3 years in domiciliary care in Wimbledon. I absolutely loved making a difference to people’s lives every day in their homes, but I wanted to expand my knowledge and experience within the care home sector. Since the moment I walked into Coombe Hill Manor, I was greeted by smiles and warmth from team members and our residents. Truly, the residents are at the heart of everything here, and the team really care about making Coombe Hill a lovely place to live.
