I was admitted to Rosebery Manor for two months of respite care after a stay in hospital in June 2021. Unfortunately, at first, I had to go into isolation for five days. I was a lot younger than most of the residents, but soon settled down and got to love the home, which is more like a hotel, and also
the residents. The staff are amazing; nothing is too much trouble for them. A special mention to the head male nurse and the carers and supervisors on the 1st floor. All the staff were so fantastic, also one gentleman in the restaurant (don’t lose him, he is a gem). The food is amazing, and also the brilliant activities team. I was not happy going in there, but I absolutely loved it and was very sad leaving.

It’s a great home, very well run with so much care. Don’t hesitate about admitting your loved one here, they will love it and be very well taken care of. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. The home and grounds are beautiful. Go and have a look around the home; you will love it.

Rosebery Manor is an excellent building with good decor and furnishings. However, their air conditions on the 1st and 2nd floor are often poor in the summer. The caring and supportive staff are excellent, courteous and respectful. However, the call system is not always as fast as required. The nursing
support is professional 24-hours a day.

I would like to reiterate everything my sister has already said regarding our Dad moving into Roseberry Manor. It was a tough decision to make, but we certainly did the right thing. I cannot thank all the staff at Roseberry Manor enough for your kindness and support.

It is a very hard decision moving a parent into a care home, however, we could not have made a better one. Dad moved into Rosebery a few months ago, and he settled in very quickly. He is a very sociable person, independent living just got too much for him as he has a severe sight impairment. We knew
he would enjoy lots of company.
The accommodation choices are excellent, and the gardens are very well maintained.
Staff are fantastic, very caring, and everyone is always made to feel very welcome. A great relationship between Rosebery Manor and the local GP surgery, which we feel is very important. Excellent entertainment and activities every day; Dad is very happy and stimulated. It is great to see him enjoying life. There is always a welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend Rosebery Manor.

Mum was admitted to Rosebery, aged 94, having looked after herself for many years. Initially, it took a while for her to settle down, but it was (and she agreed) the best thing that she could ever have done. She enjoyed a wonderful apartment with a large lounge, with a balcony overlooking the lovely
garden, separate bedroom and walk-in shower/bathroom. It was extremely well maintained, and no worries about her laundry. The food was excellent, but most of all we're all the fantastic staff. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. All the relatives and friends were made so welcome, often joining Mum for lunch or tea and many of the activities. The nursing staff in her recent final days (at the age of 98) were so caring, and we were made so welcome at difficult times. We feel we have made so many friends and will be booking in for ourselves when the time comes.
Reply from Sonia Weller, Client Liaison Manager at Rosebery Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for your kind words which we will share with the team. It was a privilege to be a part of your mum's later years and to welcome all her family to Rosebery Manor.

My mum moved in to Rosebery seven weeks ago, and it has transformed her life. From living on her own in a big house in Devon where she was lonely and sometimes frightened, she is now surrounded by many new friends - both residents and staff. She has an active social life for the first time in ages,
and this will continue to develop as lockdown eases. I can't praise the team at Rosebery highly enough. After the unhappy experience, my Dad had for the last two years across three different care homes, the contrast with Rosebery couldn't be more stark. Nothing is too much trouble for the team, and I can see the genuinely warm relationship my mum has with everyone. Although the first two weeks after arrival were self-isolation for my mum in her flat, it didn't feel like that as she saw so many friendly, positive staff - regardless of their role - throughout the day. It is such a relief to know that she is happy, safe and stimulated every single day. Thank you to everyone at Rosebery!

My sister and I would highly recommend Rosebery Manor. Our 91-year-old mother has been a resident for 2-years and couldn't be happier. The staff are fantastic... very caring and patient, and nothing is too much trouble. There is a variety of great daily and weekly activities, and our mother says she's
never been busier. She has made some lovely new friends, and her time at Rosebery has really given her a new lease of life!

It was a big step for my mother to leave her independent, active life in her bungalow and to move into a care home. It took her a while to settle and accept her new life, but thanks to the extremely kind and thoughtful staff, she is now very happy and feels very lucky to be at Rosebery Manor! All the
suites and studios have their own kitchenette and bathroom, which makes the resident feel that they have their own independent flat. The food, communal areas and amenities are of a very high standard, similar to a top-class hotel. The normal activity programme (obviously on hold due to Covid) is outstanding. As regards safety and security which are paramount in this time of the epidemic, Signature has been faultless, always erring on the side of caution and keeping friends and relatives well informed of all measures taken.

My mother has been a resident at Rosebery Manor for approx 4-years. It was the hardest decision to place Mum into a care home. My husband and I looked at a dozen homes, and we were relatively unhappy with what we saw, and then a friend recommended us to see Rosebery Manor. What a difference it was and
everything about the home was to make Mum feel like she mattered with her views and sometimes difficult nature catered for. Mum settled in and with all the entertainment and activities she had a chance at feeling settled again and enjoying the companionship of other residents, and when we, the family, visited and friends came for lunch, she would often refer to it as the hotel. Mum was proud of the home and always felt well looked after. Sadly, over the years Mums health has deteriorated and her care has been more demanding, every need has been seen too. I am constantly informed of her health issues, and all the staff are amazing. This home cares about the residents and their families. Excellent Home!

My mother was at Rosebery Manor almost from its inception for five years until she died (not of COVID). I cannot fault the home. My mother felt secure, her suite with bedroom, sitting room and bathroom, and the whole home itself, is luxurious. The staff from the concierge, housekeeping, waiting for
staff, chefs, admin staff, management and most importantly, carers/nurses could not work harder to ensure Rosebery Manor runs smoothly and none could be more courteous or caring at all times to both residents and their relatives.

Food is delicious, nutritious and beautifully served always, and the restaurant areas are delightful. Five stars are the words for Rosebery Manor.

I chose Rosebery Manor for my mother, as unlike the majority of care homes, it offers nursing. When my mother was dying during the COVID pandemic, but not of COVID, I was allowed to visit all the time and never did I arrive and she was alone. Rosebery Manor provides excellent and loving care in wonderful surroundings.

My mother has been a resident at Rosebery Manor for 5 months. She has received a high standard of care. She has felt very safe and the home has a very welcoming atmosphere. All the activities provided are well attended and the choice of events is varied. The staff are very friendly and spend a great
deal of time with the residents. It has a bright and busy atmosphere just like a good hotel. We are very happy with Rosbery Manor and are so pleased we chose them for my mother.

Dad has been at Rosebery Manor 4 years and he is very happy and well looked after. All staff take very good care of him. It is like a family. The cleaners, waitress staff, chefs, maintenance and reception all know him and interact with him daily as well as his excellent carers. We are always made to
feel welcome. He never misses a meal as the carers always ensure he gets to the restaurant.

I have been a resident for 5 years. The staff are very helpful and take care of me. Always there when needed. There are plenty of activities covering exercise, art, shopping trips, films in Rosebery cinema, informative talks, bingo, a general 'get-togethers' in the cafe. Rosebery has helped me to be
closer to my daughters who visit me in my apartment frequently. They are always welcomed by the staff.

My Mum came to Rosebery Manor 3 years ago after suffering a stroke. The fact she has regained so much confidence and is much more her 'old self' I am sure is completely down to the continuing care and support she receives at Rosebery Manor on a daily basis. The staff and carers are extremely helpful
and kind and take the time and trouble to really connect with Mum. Any requests or needs Mum might have are dealt with promptly and efficiently, and she is always treated with respect and dignity. I feel very welcome by the staff when visiting Mum is everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Mum has struck up some good friendships since living at Roseberry Manor and I would say the whole experience has given her a new lease of life.

Food is good. Breakfast is wide-ranging. Lunch we have a choice of three dishes; they are all very good. Plenty of entertainment is provided, including singers of all types, male and female. Today we had a classical tenor singing. Supper is provided, which is also very good. Accommodation is excellent,
I have a living room and a bedroom. There is a kitchen area in my apartment. Care is excellent, with doctor, nurses and trained carers. There are regular outings. There is a beautiful garden.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.887)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.887) out of 10 for Rosebery Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.887 for Rosebery Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is calculated as follows: ( (350 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 391 Ratings = 4.887
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosebery Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 95 registered maximum number of service users is 19, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
