It is not that there are no problems, but if and when any arises the manager in charge looks into it and sorts it out, usually to my satisfaction. The garden is serene and well maintained, with a pond and low waterfall, chairs (and cushions) and tables and umbrellas. Family and friends comment on the
happy atmosphere.

When my elderly uncle decided he could no longer live at home (at the age of 94), the move to Rosebery Manor (Epsom) was accomplished very quickly and efficiently. The staff have been wonderful, very caring and professional. Every member of staff I have spoken to has been knowledgeable about my uncle,
and treated him with kindness and respect. The food and surroundings are excellent and the garden will become a favourite place.

From the start, we found the staff at Rosebery very helpful and considerate. The receptionists and moving-in coordinators are especially friendly and assisted us in many ways. My mother-in-law settled in well, enjoys the food, finds her room comfy and says the staff are friendly and do what she wants
them to do. Moving a relative with dementia proved to be easier than we'd thought. The nursing staff are happy to update us regularly and we feel very welcome during our regular visits.

My mother in law resided at Rosebery Manor for almost two years. During that time the staff did a fantastic job of making her welcome and ensuring her needs were met. The team at Rosebery Manor were all committed and made a point of engaging with residents and their regular visitors. When the next step
was for my mother-in-law to move to the dementia unit we had concerns about how she would react to this move. The staff made the transition smooth and she settled in quickly. In her final days, the staff at Rosebery Manor could not do enough for either my mother-in-law or us. They were compassionate and caring making our final memories as happy as they could be under the circumstances. We are glad we chose Rosebery Manor and have nothing but praise for the whole team.

Mother was the first resident in The Oaks over three years ago and cared for by a now well lead and united team.
I live at a distance but have been given regular feedback by mother's allocated lead dementia carer. Any concerns have been acknowledged and addressed promptly. Phone calls returned and
emails replied to quickly.
When well enough mother was given the opportunity and encouraged to attend the many activities organised and was at her happiest in the beautifully tranquil garden.
My mother died in August. End of life care was outstanding.
During the week before she died, whilst I was with her, staff from all over the building, day and night, were popping into her room to visit her with concern and affection.
Any Care Home is only as good as its Management allows.
In my opinion, recent concerns have been addressed and I would not hesitate in recommending Rosebery Manor.

My cousin moved in to Rosebery Manor in 2014 shortly after it opened. From the outset, every effort was made to accommodate her needs. The agreement to allow her dog to move in with her was especially appreciated. During her time at the Manor my cousin always assured me that she was being well looked
after, that the food was good and that the staff could not have been more considerate. I know she was very happy there. My cousin was able to live as independently as her circumstances allowed and to retain her dignity at all times. In recent months my cousin's health began to fail and she was admitted to hospital where she died. All those involved with her were attentive, concerned and compassionate throughout, and very supportive in helping me to deal with the practical issues involved.

My Mum was the very first resident at Rosebery Manor in December 2014, and she lived there until early July this year, by which time she was nearly 102. I moved her to East Yorkshire, near to me, so that my wife and I could visit her more frequently. Sadly at the beginning of August, she died, peacefully
in her favourite armchair.

Any move into a Residential Home from one's own house is bound to be difficult, but I was always impressed with the care and attention shown to my Mum. With some Members of the staff I felt it went beyond normal duty, particularly as my Mum could be difficult at times.

I have no hesitation in recommending Rosebery Manor. It is well laid out and in my experience, it is well run.

An excellent care home, probably one of the best but at a cost!
It's a crying shame why all care homes cannot be set to this standard and you don't have to sell your house to obtain a good quality care home.
Staff are brilliant, caring and attentive.
Meals are varied and the staff look out for those
who either forget or didn't attend a meal time.
The car park is generally an issue trying to park your car as it generally is full so you have to park on the road or in the adjacent road.
Nurses keep you well informed if they have a concern by calling you directly.
An excellent care home.

I have lived here since November 2017. My first impression was a surprise at the non-institutional and relaxed atmosphere rather like that of a good hotel! But the staff are efficient and caring and create an atmosphere of friendship and community. There are plenty of activities for all tastes. It was
lovely to be able to bring my own furniture and indeed I could have brought a dog or a husband! With my poor health, I am confident in the meticulous care taken by the nursing staff.

Always treated with respect and dignity on my visits from the staff at the reception desk to the various carers I have had the pleasure to come into contact with. The care and attention given to the resident I visit, from my observation, is kindly and compassionate. There is nothing I could find fault

I arranged for my friend to become a resident at Roseberry - she was very reluctant and apprehensive to make the move.
Management went beyond the call of duty to make her feel settled and welcome.
They supported me throughout the process with care and understanding.
They treated my friend with dignity,
care, compassion and understanding.
I am very pleased with Roseberry.
They give me great relief.

All the staff are very helpful and caring and we were particularly assisted by the Client Liaison Manager, who ensured my mother become familiar and comfortable with Roseberry Manor during a series of managed visits over a month or so.

The actual move-in went ahead seamlessly with all the carers

in the Oaks introducing themselves and being friendly and attentive. Particular thanks go to the Dementia Manager, who ensures there is calm and dignity for the residents.

Whilst it is still early days for my mother I am relieved to have found her a new home where her individual needs are catered for she has the care and support she requires.

It's very expensive - we paid £1,748 a week. The care was good, as you would expect, and some staff members seemed genuinely attached to my father, even though he had advanced dementia.
Communication was poor. It was hard to find out how my father was on the phone. When the dementia manager left, nobody
told us. I got the impression that the staff called me when they had to - e.g. when my father fell over - but not otherwise.
We asked the care home to arrange a Continuing Health Care evaluation for my father. They agreed to do so, but they did nothing and in the end, the Community Psychiatric Nurse arranged it.
The dementia manager who left was not replaced for quite a while, leaving a serious gap.
Reply from Sandie Mole, General Manager at Rosebery Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionRosebery Manor appreciates honest, timely feedback to continually improve and develop our service. Open and transparent communication is key for our service, and during a time of management change, this may have been lacking in parts, back in March, the date of this review. Our newly appointed management team, including the Dementia Manager, has ensured that all channels of contact, whether by email or telephone, remain constant and continuous. We are further working to enhance our system with the potential for our families to remote access and view the type of day their loved one has had, giving reassurance and peace of mind.

We are very impressed with the care my mother has received whilst at Rosebery Manor over the past 2 years. All the staff are friendly, caring and show a lot of respect to all residents and their relatives. Following my mother's stroke, the staff have quickly and seamlessly adapted to her new and more
intensive level of care and needs without even having to ask. The Dementia unit is very efficiently run by the Dementia Manager who maintains very high standards whilst treating all residents as individuals.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.890)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.890) out of 10 for Rosebery Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.890 for Rosebery Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is calculated as follows: ( (319 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 355 Ratings = 4.89
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosebery Manor Care Home - Avery Collection is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 95 registered maximum number of service users is 19, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
