My Dad stayed for 4 weeks respite care to improve his mobility, better control blood sugar, and for comfort and peace of mind while my family was abroad on a holiday.
Overall we were very pleased with the service provided in all areas.
Thank you for taking the time to review. We are pleased his short term placement for care was beneficial.
Although my wife Barbara Wilcox has been bed bound for some time, I visit every day and find the staff are consistently courteous and caring with only the residents needs and comforts in mind. Our two children also feel that that this the best place for their Mum to be.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased you feel the consistency of care.
Well done.
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your feedback.
Absolutely fantastic.
We appreciate you taking the time to review and to show you are happy with all aspects of the care for your mother.
Our resident moved here from a more expensive care home in the same area. The difference we have all experienced is marked. Woodland Grove is immediately a more welcoming environment - airy, well designed and altogether more lively. We have been impressed with the care staff and management who evidence a 'can do' approach. The range of activities offered is impressive. Our resident particularly relishes the tranquil greenery surrounding the home with a lovely reading area under the trees. We are all glad that we moved home.
Many thanks for taking the time to review and give your feedback based on your experiences. We appreciate your feedback.
I visit on a regular basis (min weekly) and find it to be cosy and the staff attentive and supportive. Meredith the receptionist is also so approachable.
Thank you for your kind review and your observations when you visit. Much appreicated.
The team on the first floor are exceptional. They are caring, attentive and cheerful. They always make sure dad is comfortable and remember the little details that are important to dad, like his music. They are all kind, and you can see how well they work as a team. Thank you all so much!
Thank you for recognising the team looking after dad, we appreciate your feedback.
We are very impressed with the home - every aspect seems to be going well, the place is well run, and - most important - the staff all seem happy and go out of their way to help however they can. They've even fixed the wifi after a recent request so my dad can watch iPlayer.
Thank you for your review, we appreciate the responsiveness that is often required.
I have been visiting my friend Dorothy, known as Twiggy by her friends/family for the past 18 months - since she arrived at Woodland Grove I couldn't wish for her to be in a better environment with wonderful staff, full of empathy for residents, lovely surrounding and good wholesome food as well as activities for residents to participate in if they wish. She is a wonderful lady and I thank you all for being there for her every need.
We really appreciate you providing a review and are pleased you have had many pleasant visits.
My husband is a relatively new resident and the family were worried about him accepting the situation and settling in. We have been surprised that he has done both which is a huge relief. We are greatly encouraged by the kindness and respect shown to him as he suffers from Parkinsons and Dementia. The staff genuinely care about his welfare and have also supported me through this difficult transition. I feel confident leaving him in their care as they are an outstanding team.
Thank you for taking the time to review. We appreciate how difficult decisions are for future care and are pleased you have had a supportive experience.
We have been using the home for a few years. First to see my sister in law who sadly passed last year. Now we visit our brother-in-law whenever we can. We find the staff very friendly and also the residents.
Thank you for leaving a review based on your visits. We appreciate your comments.
Helpful and caring staff - although did seem short staffed sometimes.
Almost constant buzzer was the only negative but extremely amazing.
Thank you for taking the time to review and give your feedback. We will review your comments but reassure that our staffing always remains in line with dependancy.
No way could he be described as a foodie! However, he tells me the food is good and he has no complaints at all.
They have enabled him to have care staff which best suit his needs and this had a profound effect on his daily routine and confidence.
I am advised not to mention particular staff in writing this review so I just want to say that they listen to him and me and make adjustments where necessary and possible. With their encouragement he has also taken advantage of the visits they make in their mini bus and the small group outing is helping break the transition.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your admission experience as a family. We appreciate your comments.
My partner has been in Woodland Grove for over eight years. It is an excellent care home with excellent staff. There is a lovely atmosphere the moment you enter the reception area. I looked at a few different types of homes but were very pleased we chose Woodland Grove. Well done to the managers and staff.
It is so reassuring that after such a long time being part of our family you still feel the same way about the home. That certainly is so welcomed.
The staff were cheerful and caring.
The opportunity to take dad downstairs to the bistro for biscuits and a cuppa when I visited was very much appreciated.
The food always looked to be of excellent quality.
Dad really enjoyed the visit from the music therapist.
Thank you
We appreciate you taking the time to review following your visits. Your feedback is valuable.
My mother had an amazing 80th birthday party. The room was beautifully decorated and the food was outstanding. Every single person commented on how lovely the experience was for them and Mum. It surpassed my expectations. There was a huge range of foods provided covering vegetarians and non-veg people - and the cake was perfect. One of the best parties we've organised for Mum and she's still talking about it two weeks later! Thanks to the whole team involved.
It is such a pleasure to provide person-centred memorable occasions to our residents and their families. Thank you for your feedback.
I chose this care home for myself after brain surgery. I was delighted with the service provided. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly and approachable. The food was delicious and plentiful. I would rate this facility most highly. Thank you to the whole team!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for your stay with us.
My husband has been in respite care for three weeks and I'm hoping he can stay longer. The staff have been very kind and professional and there's always someone around to help. The interior is clean, modern and more like a hotel than a care home.
We appreciate you leaving a review for us and are delighted he will be remaining with us.
It was my sister's birthday and the home arranged for us to use the snug at the home so our family could have a tea and cake birthday afternoon. Their attention was excellent and we all had a lovely time, even if my sister did not know what was happening, she was happy to be with us all (son, daughter, husband, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends). Our thanks to a well-run Woodland Grove. Keep up the good work.
It's always nice to recognise a personalised celebration. Thank you for your review.
More than happy our family found this care home. It is so good to know my dad is in a very good home with excellent care and facilities provided. It has taken away the worry of him having to now live alone. All the staff are exceptional in achieving their professional and caring duties. To sum up, this home is brilliant.
He has settled in exceptionally well and enjoying the external trips which is great to see. Thank you for your review.

Meet the Team (4)

I am a qualified Biomedical Scientist and specialised in Blood Transfusion. I worked for the NHS before I decided to join the Health and Social Care sector in 2012. My first role was at a small residential care setting for the elderly. I joined as a Deputy Manager and progressed to a Registered Manager role. Since then, I have been in various management roles within the sector.
I joined Oakland Care in 2020 as a Unit Manager. I then progressed to the Head of Memory and Residential Care Role before moving into the Deputy Manager Role and now General Manager. I have a passion for providing exceptional care and developing a team that goes above and beyond in the care they provide.

I have an academic background in Literature and Journalism. However, driven by the desire to be part of a meaningful change, in 2019, I decided to transition into the Social and Healthcare sector. This is when I joined Oakland Care as a Healthcare Assistant, and I have since advanced through various roles, progressively working my way up to my current position as Deputy Manager. My journey has given me a deep understanding of both the personal and professional aspects of care. As a Deputy Manager, I aim to ensure that our residents receive exceptional care and that my team is led with inspiration, compassion, and integrity. I recently earned a qualification in therapeutic counselling and am interested in all things philosophy and psychology.

I have supported Care Homes for over 9 years and previously worked in Leisure and HR. My role is to effectively manage the occupancy levels of both Lambwood Heights and Woodland Grove care homes and build positive relationships with residents, families and external contacts in the community.
I work closely with the marketing department and our lifestyles teams to ensure our services are promoted to reflect the excellent care and support we provide. The residents are our extended family who we love to nurture and share daily life with whilst keeping them safe and well. I’m always delighted to meet new families and support their journey.

Before starting at Woodland Grove, my previous role was event coordinator in a museum and I have always worked in a creative industry. I helped to create big events such as private view and private parties.
I have a passion for creating creative and inclusive opportunities for diverse groups and making them explore different art and crafts.I really enjoy also sports activities like keep fit and name the tune where we explore different music and create a great atmosphere.
