We are very happy with the care our mother receives. There are times when she needs to be supervised more closely with personal hygiene. The food always looks nice but I'm told not always very tasty.
Thank you for your review, we will continue to review all areas that may have concern.
Very friendly, clean and well-run care home. My mum is being looked after well and I would recommend it to anyone.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review for us.
My 87-year-old mum managed to fracture her hip in early December and following partial replacement to repair it, came into Woodland Grove after leaving hospital for four weeks' convalescence. She received excellent care from all members of the team on the first floor. They were attentive and encouraging. Her room was bright and spacious and kept spotlessly clean. We, as visitors, were made to feel very welcome and often made ourselves tea and sat with her in one of the lounges on that floor. There was a full schedule of activities even over the Christmas and New Year period and families were invited to partake in all of these.
It was a pleasure to welcome your family whilst Mum had convalescence with us. Thank you for your review.
The care home looks after my mother-in-law very well and everything is excellent. The entertainment they provide is wonderful and they have a lot of activities to keep the residents occupied, which they do not have to join in with if they do not wish to. My mother-in-law particularly enjoyed the animals and the singers.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are delighted she enjoys the variety of activities.
We are very happy that our friend is in such a lovely environment, with such caring staff, who always give us such a welcome when we come. It is very reassuring to know that she is safe and happy.
Thank you for your review we really appreciate your comments.
We were invited to join my mother at her care home for Christmas Day this year. We were very pleasantly surprised to see that tables had been put together to form a long row down the 'bistro' day room. The entrance hall and common rooms were beautifully decorated and a roaring log fire was on the TV screen to welcome us. The three course meal was served beautifully by members of staff and the chef came to visit so we all congratulated him on a delicious festive lunch. Afterwards the tables were cleared and chairs arranged in three rows so lots of other residents joined us in the bistro to watch the King's Christmas message. It was a real treat to watch it through with no interruptions. Everyone had a good view and subtitles were on. On other days the care at Woodland Grove is extremely good. The carers are very kind and understanding. The big highlight this December was the afternoon when two tame penguins were brought in to waddle around and were happy to be stroked on their backs!
Thank you for leaving a review with focus on the wonderful Christmas we celebrated.
Dad has settled in really well, the staff are very friendly and helpful, daily interaction activities are excellent, opportunities for trips out. Home very clean and bright, nice atmosphere. We feel confident he is in good hands.
Thank you for leaving a review. It has been so nice seeing him enjoying the trips out.
Excellent place, very welcoming and all staff are always there to help and answer any questions you may have.
Would highly recommend.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. All reviews are so helpful.
My sister is not the easiest person to cope with but the home went out of their way to make her feel at home and reassure her. Their attention to detail and friendliness stand out in my opinion! The staff were numerous and seemed very happy to be working there, always a good sign.
They addressed the numerous residents we met on our tour by name and seemed to have a great deal of patience. We made appointments to view and for induction without any problems. No questions were avoided and there was no rushing or pressure to choose. My sister seems to have settled in well and I feel a weight lifted as she will now be looked after in a warm, friendly and above all caring environment. What more could you wish for? Her money, her choice, but well spent. Highly recommended in my opinion!
Thank you for your review, this feedback is really helpful and appreciated.
I can't fault the communication and help given to transition my step-father into the dementia ward amongst a very challenging set of circumstances. The circumstances remain challenging but everyone at the home has gone above and beyond to help in all ways possible. The home itself is lovely and there are so many activities and things going on. The staff really do their best to inject warmth and fun into the proceedings. I genuinely feel they are doing their best to care for my step-father.
Thank you for your very kind review. We continue to work closely with all the family.
We are happy that we selected Woodland Grove as the care home for our mother. We are confident that she is being well looked after and it is nice to visit her at the home. The staff that I have met are great.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review.
My mum has been in Woodlands Grove for 2 weeks now. It has been a big transition for her because she has been in hospital for about 6 weeks and her health has deteriorated quickly and she suffers from dementia. However, she is starting to settle down and become accustomed to it and she is constantly saying how nice it is and how friendly everyone is. It's a fantastic home, the facilities are exceptional, and the food is excellent but the biggest commendation has to go to the staff. From the manager, admin team, the nurses and carers, maintenance guys, they are all fantastic and this makes it an exceptional care home. They really look after all the residents and I'm delighted we decided to put my mum in there because I know she's happy and content. A massive thank you to everyone there.
We appreciate your feedback on all aspects of the home and we will ensure your feedback is shared. We are delighted with how well she is settling.
The environment: The room was much bigger and with natural light
The staff: The staff was always come with smiley faces. They respond quickly to the requests. The communication between the staff and I are good
General hygiene of my wife: The general hygiene of my wife had improved.
Thank you for sharing your experience of caring for your wife. We appreciate your feedback.
The lifestyle team excel in interacting with the residents of all abilities. Arranging outings of interest and daily activities including families to attend to with their relatives which makes this a home-from-home experience.
Thank you for sharing your experience of the home and for your continued support with our events/activities.
Upon arrival the staff and caregivers have been exceptional, they have been kind, thoughtful, polite and extremely professional.
The care home is decorated beautifully and appears to be spotlessly clean, the meals have been very good and the staff are keen to provide extra/different suggestions if requested.
Woodland Grove feels more like 'home' than a care home, all the residents seem happy and relaxed. I'm sure my mum will settle in well!
I'd like to thank everyone for the hard work they do and for the big smiles they give!
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a really lovely review. Thank you! We will make sure all those looking after Mum receive feedback.
Very pleased with care shown towards my wife.
We appreciate you taking the time to give your comments and observance of care. Thank you.
Outstanding members of staff. Full of kindness and care towards the residents and family members. Made to feel more than welcome.
We really appreciate you taking the time to review and to hear your visits are a good experience.
I have visited, and each time, your team and the manager have been outstanding.
In particular, one member of staff has truly been the most caring, dedicated, professional, who shows great empathy and care towards all residents.
A credit to the home.
Thank you for your review; we really appreciate the time you have taken to feed back.
My first experience with care homes, and as I was seeking a placement for my very special 99-year-old mother, the fact that I chose Woodland Grove is a reflection of the professional approach taken by all staff I have and do come into contact with.
Thank you for taking the time to review. Choosing a care home is a very difficult time for all families. Thank you for choosing us.
Moving to a care home was challenging for my mother but the staff at Woodland Grove have been very kind and patient in helping her to settle in. They also respond promptly and thoroughly to queries I have raised. The home offers excellent food options and a lively range of daily activities. The home seems very clean and well-kept and has a lovely, quiet garden. Having a working direct landline in her room was a key facility for my mother and means she is connected to her previous world. Thank you to all the staff at Woodland Grove.
Thank you for taking the time to review. Making life-changing decisions is very difficult but we are so pleased she is doing really well.

Meet the Team (4)

I am a qualified Biomedical Scientist and specialised in Blood Transfusion. I worked for the NHS before I decided to join the Health and Social Care sector in 2012. My first role was at a small residential care setting for the elderly. I joined as a Deputy Manager and progressed to a Registered Manager role. Since then, I have been in various management roles within the sector.
I joined Oakland Care in 2020 as a Unit Manager. I then progressed to the Head of Memory and Residential Care Role before moving into the Deputy Manager Role and now General Manager. I have a passion for providing exceptional care and developing a team that goes above and beyond in the care they provide.

I have an academic background in Literature and Journalism. However, driven by the desire to be part of a meaningful change, in 2019, I decided to transition into the Social and Healthcare sector. This is when I joined Oakland Care as a Healthcare Assistant, and I have since advanced through various roles, progressively working my way up to my current position as Deputy Manager. My journey has given me a deep understanding of both the personal and professional aspects of care. As a Deputy Manager, I aim to ensure that our residents receive exceptional care and that my team is led with inspiration, compassion, and integrity. I recently earned a qualification in therapeutic counselling and am interested in all things philosophy and psychology.

I have supported Care Homes for over 9 years and previously worked in Leisure and HR. My role is to effectively manage the occupancy levels of both Lambwood Heights and Woodland Grove care homes and build positive relationships with residents, families and external contacts in the community.
I work closely with the marketing department and our lifestyles teams to ensure our services are promoted to reflect the excellent care and support we provide. The residents are our extended family who we love to nurture and share daily life with whilst keeping them safe and well. I’m always delighted to meet new families and support their journey.

Before starting at Woodland Grove, my previous role was event coordinator in a museum and I have always worked in a creative industry. I helped to create big events such as private view and private parties.
I have a passion for creating creative and inclusive opportunities for diverse groups and making them explore different art and crafts.I really enjoy also sports activities like keep fit and name the tune where we explore different music and create a great atmosphere.
