Puddingstone Grange care home is registered to offer residential care for male and female service users, who are elderly and frail, have a dementia related condition and nursing care needs.

A mental health unit was been opened within the home in August 2015 to provide care and support for those living with mental health conditions.

A community district nurse service is available for the residential units.

Community psychiatric support is provided when necessary, through a resident's general practitioner services.

The mental health unit receives support from Oxleas Health Service, 24 hours a day in addition to regular reviews of those residents from the community psychiatric team.

At the heart of Avante Care and Support's work is a philosophy of care where staff encourage social interaction, engagement and the eradication of loneliness and boredom.

Puddingstone Grange ensures its care and support helps to develop interests and hobbies within the care home and provide many opportunities to meet and make new friends.

The design promotes the use of the external space and this will be achieved by having safe, level access to the garden area at the rear, which has a meandering pathway, raised planters, seating areas and water feature.

Perfect place for my Mum. Friendly, approachable staff. Very professional and knowledgeable. They understand Mum's various needs and do their utmost to make her happy. More importantly, we know that she is safe and secure in a loving environment where she is friends with both residents and staff.

My aunt has lived at Puddingstone Grange for over 18 months. She is very happy and well cared for. I'm impressed by how they have dealt with Covid. I can visit once a week in the garden and am even offered a cup of tea. I have no worries about my aunt's care.

My review of the situation of the care home. Staff and mostly the carers are very good. Food is good, even some of the residents are very sociable when I come to see my brother. There is nothing I can say to decry the care home.

Aspires to care and delivers with care, fulfilling the needs of residents physical, medical and emotional well-being of each resident. The staff are well trained and have a caring disposition evident in all routine matters.
The camaraderie between and among staff at all levels makes light work of very
difficult tasks. Each deserves to be paid more for their long hours and demanding work.

Would like to see more staff on the floor, but well looked after. When I visit the home, all the staff seem very polite and helpful. Also, housekeeping and laundry staff do a good job.
Do not know about meals as when I visit meals are finished.
Reception is very happy and helpful also. I have only
met the new manager a few times, seems very happy. Also the deputy manager is so nice and helpful. The rooms could do with some fresh paint though.

My mother went to live at Puddingstone Grange. Mum was not keen at first but settled in and was happy and comfortable.


The carers and staff made every effort to help Mum socialise and take part in daily activities. The carers and staff were kind and considerate. The staff were always friendly to

us as a family and would always let us know if there were any concerns.


I cannot thank the carers and staff enough for the kindness and respect that they showed my mum and the family at the end of her life.

My brother has been in Puddingstone for several years he has severe Parkinsons and dementia and his moods are very variable. I visit regularly and have been impressed with the understanding and care by the staff in all circumstances; that the staff consistently show such a level of love is a reassuring
comfort for relatives and reflects the exemplary management for which I would express my gratitude. It cannot be the easiest of jobs.

My mother received wonderful care at Puddingstone. All of the staff worked hard to make the home a happy place which was filled with love and joy. My mum was very happy here and made lots of friends. There was a very good staff:resident ratio - much better than other care homes I visited. The overall

The Drummond Ward were fantastic in their care for my father during the 3.5 years he was in their care. They were patient, caring, understanding and friendly and treated my father with dignity and respect. My father felt safe and well cared for, I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone

They are always very attentive - asking if mum is ok or if she wants anything. Mum clearly likes their friendship and smiles often when she sees them - they even give her hugs, which is lovely and so very kind. One member of staff is very good at keeping her busy and they have a very nice relationship.

Moji has over 20 years experience working in care, she joined Avante as a Registered Home Manager in September 2020, having previously held roles as an Area Co-ordinator and Regional Support Manager. Moji has a BSc in Sociology and MSc in Criminology and Criminal Psychology


Moji's proudest achievement since joining Avante has been supporting residents, their family members and staff through the recent pandemic and the associated challenges, keeping the home safe and maintaining staffing levels. Moji feels it is particularly important to support the relatives and friends of residents in order to enhance the wellbeing of all parties.
