Overall Experience
My elderly and disabled mother has been resident in Perry Manor home for over five years and, as her care needs have changed, her carers have adapted accordingly, and she could not imagine herself anywhere else.
My mother is very fond of the staff and has many friends among the residents. Respect and quality care are highly valued features of the ethos of Perry Manor, and during this Covid-19 situation, no resident or member of staff has tested positive for the virus. All credit due to the exacting diligence of the management team and all staff members.
Apart from all of that, there are daily activities, excellent food and clean, comfortable surroundings.

A residential care home of the very highest standards.

I've been in several care homes visiting over the years - they were short-staffed, residents left alone. The minute I walked into Perry Manor, to me it had the 'X-factor'. Staff in abundance, all friendly and nice, food excellent. The activities second to none, the refreshments a marvellous treat. If voted, 20 out of 10. Keep up the good work.

My mom's quality of life has improved greatly since she moved to Perry Manor. It has been a huge relief to our family to see her settled and happy, enjoying all the company and being able to join in most of the daily activities.
The manager and all the staff are friendly and helpful. They listen to you and welcome your suggestions/feedback.

We are very grateful to them all for the excellent care they are providing.

My 89-year-old mom came to Perry Manor a few weeks ago and I can only rave about all the care and looking after she is receiving. Not only has she got a lovely room overlooking the garden, but the staff are so friendly and kind and go out of their way. The extra mile from the manager down to all those who prepare the meals, do the maintenance and care for my mom. The facilities are fantastic and the activities are on every single day. My mom loves the nursery children that visit the home each week. Thank you everyone, I know my mom is in excellent hands.

Feels more like a hotel than a nursing home. My mother is being very well cared for, having been admitted for end of life care.

It's such a pity she is not well enough to enjoy the amazing facilities and activities on offer. Visitors well looked after too, lovely conservatory area with complimentary refreshments, games to keep children entertained too. Residents all have memory boxes outside their rooms with nice additions from the care home staff. Far exceeded my expectations.

When looking around the first time for my friend, I immediately sensed the care and love the staff had for the residents. The passion and pride to be a part of a caring team were clear to see. The care home was lovely and welcoming. I love the many little areas and how spacious the corridors and rooms are. I would definitely recommend this care home. It would be a place I would want to work in.

My loved one has transferred from another home and the contrast is unbelievable. My loved one has challenging dementia and everyone has been so kind and welcoming. The staff really understand dementia and genuinely care. The building is exceptional and efficiency in communicating with me has been outstanding.

Mum was cared for so professionally with warmth and patience at Perry Manor. From the moment we were introduced to staff and looked at all of the lovely facilities and rooms, we as a family felt very assured that we were making absolutely the right decision for mums end of life care.

We sadly lost our dear mum to her illness too soon, however, the way in which she was treated with such care and dignity and the way, we too were treated with care, compassion and understanding was just wonderful. The whole experience has left us all feeling content with peace of mind that we did the very best for our dear mum. Thank you Perry Manor staff team. You were wonderful.

Dad is generally happy here. The staff are nice and are good to him. They have good relationships as a result. Food is good and social facilities are really pleasant.

Mobile reception is very poor which does create a problem with contacting Dad and him trying to deal with his personal affairs. Wifi is difficult to access.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave such a lovely review about Perry Manor. It is good to hear your comments about the staff – good relationships between residents and staff are important to us. We have recently had a WiFi booster installed which has improved the mobile phone signal throughout the home.

Katherine Matthews
Katherine MatthewsJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2016

I’m a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse, and prior to joining Perry Manor in 2016, I was Deputy Hospital Director of a 63-bed psychiatric hospital in Bristol. I originally joined Care UK in 2006 and worked in its mental health division. The idea of returning to work for the organisation was attractive because I believed in its core values, and respected its ‘care first, business second’ approach.

Since joining the Perry Manor team, I’ve been making positive changes for both the residents and my colleagues. I was thrilled when we received an ‘outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission at our inspection in late 2018. We were the first home in Worcester to achieve this quality rating.

I’ve also been honoured to have won a couple of recent awards for my work. In 2019 I won silver in the British Journal of Nursing Awards and in the same year I won the award for Best Dementia Care Manager at the National Dementia Care Awards.

I’m incredibly proud of the fantastic home we’ve created for older people in Worcester – none of which would have been possible without the commitment and passion of the team at Perry Manor. When you work in a care home you realise that it is organic, there will never be a finished product. It continues to grow, change and develop. Looking ahead, we will continue to strive to deliver the best care to every resident, keeping up-to-date with the latest practice and working with residents and their families to make Perry Manor a home from home for all of our residents.
