This is an extremely well run home, excellent facilities and generally kind staff. It is situated in a fine spot, it is peaceful without being dull. We will come back if needed. Thank you very much for providing this place for our needs.

Mum and Dad have been at Priors House for 3 months and have settled in very well and are looked after in a very caring way. The staff genuinely seem to enjoy their roles and always have time for a chat and a smile which creates a great camaraderie. The food is great and there are a really good range
of activities including visits to local towns and the pub. From our first contact with Priors everybody has gone out of their way to help us - thank you to everyone. Long may it continue.

I was in Priors House for respite for 2 weeks after a spinal operation. All the staff were most kind and respectful and care for me extremely well. I couldn't fault it and would recommend it to anyone in my position.

During this last year, we have had 3 elderly parents needing care. Having visited and experienced many homes in the Sussex and Warwickshire, we have found none better than Priors House to care for our nearest and dearest. The attractive, modern, well-designed home provides a pleasant atmosphere with
a friendly, professional and supportive team stretching from the bottom to the top of the system. As a family, we cannot recommend Priors House highly enough.

I can’t thank the staff at Priors’ House enough for the love, care and kindness they gave to my mum who had Alzheimer’s. When she was ill at the end of her life, the staff were amazing; I was so touched that everyone would drop in to see how she was and also gave me so much support. Thanks to them she
had happy times there with opportunities to share a laugh and enjoy activities. Her appetite and general well-being increased as she enjoyed the superb food from talented chefs and in eating together with others. The activities organisers were excellent, offering something for everyone as well as for friends and families to join in. Priors House is a beautiful building but it is the staff who made this such a welcoming, loving and happy home for her at the end of her life. It is so challenging working with dementia, but they are an exceptional team dedicated to caring for the vulnerable people in their care and also so supportive of families and each other.

Gran loves it at Priors House. She likes going up to the café for a cuppa and do the jigsaw. She loves having her hair done in the salon. It's like going to the hairdressers before she came here.
The carers are lovely and treat gran with respect at all times.

It's always nice to see my grandmother at Priors House. She's looked after very well there and we always go and sit in the lounge area with her and have a cup of coffee and some of the delicious homemade cake. There's a lovely atmosphere there and everyone is always friendly and approachable.

The home is very clean and hygienic and the staff are very helpful and professional. They do activities daily and try and involve all residents as much as possible, also taking residents on trips out to local shops and attractions. Also, the staff encourage residents in gardening and cooking. The staff
are very well trained in their jobs. The food is to the highest standard and all needs are catered for.

My father and I were very nervous and daunted by the fear of how my mother would react to living with dementia in a care home. The staff at Priors House demonstrated total commitment when caring for her and persevered through some difficult times. She settled and was happy and began to build relationships
with both staff and the others around her. I would recommend Priors House and appreciate the time, care and attention the staff have given to my mother and the family.

Thank you all so much for taking good care of mum. Particular thanks to the unit manager and the registered manager who pulled out all the stops to do the initial assessment quickly and get a room sorted for mum within 24 hours!
This enabled me to still do the new york marathon and help raise money
for cancer research. So, a massive thanks from me and the team of us who were part of the walk the walk team.

I was highly recommended Priors House by an elderly friend. My Aunt and Uncle went to stay at Priors for five weeks in February in the residential suite, whilst their property was renovated. My Aunt has Alzheimer's and my Uncle was generally unsteady on his feet and not of the best health. The home
is beautiful and with good facilities for the residents (for all requirements).

It was clear that the staff had been well chosen, warm and friendly, and with a caring nature; they carried out their roles to the highest level. They met their care needs and prepared them for their return home to homecare. My Aunt and Uncle were all always clean and smart.
My Aunt and Uncle believed that they were staying in a hotel and looked forward to the lovely meals prepared and the activities laid on each day. They didn’t want to leave Priors, but when they did they looked so healthy and had put on weight.

I can only describe the care, dignity and support my father and family have received at Care Uk, Priors House. As being outstanding. From his first assessment to his passing in May 2017. The dedication of all the staff especially those on the Telford Suite has been superb. Our family cannot thank them

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.791)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.791) out of 10 for Priors House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 37 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.791 for Priors House is calculated as follows: ( (357 Excellents x 5) + (53 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (4 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 422 Ratings = 4.791
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Priors House is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I managed care homes before I joined Care UK and was even an area manager, overseeing a number of homes. I’ve also worked as a ‘turnaround manager’ – helping care homes to gain regulatory compliance – so I’ve lots of experience in care homes.

There’s a lot to do when you’re a home manager, but the best bit is having a coffee with the residents and chatting with them. When I can I also join in with activities because it’s wonderful seeing residents enjoying themselves – after all, that’s why we do what we do. I love seeing happy residents living fulfilling lives in our warm and friendly home.
