Priors House know that my family are absolutely astounded with the care afforded to our father. At 99 he is definitely a one-off and brings many challenges to all around him. The staff have managed these with love, kindness and humour – no one could ask for more. The environment for my father and all other residents must be second to none in the UK. The manager has cultured and embedded a sense of pride in all staff which reflects in every aspect of the running of the home.
On 2 occasions, 4 ½ years ago and recently when he broke 3 ribs, my father was slipping away. The care staff brought him back from the edge and all concerned should feel a great sense of achievement and pride. The home is full of life and vitality and is a lovely place for Dad to call home.
A picture I have of Dad when he arrived in June 2014 compared to those on the home's Facebook says more than words - he looks 10 years younger today and has vitality for life.

Please thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.

Mum had four very happy years at Priors House thanks to the wonderful and supportive care of staff on Telford (both day and night shifts) and Priors House community. All the staff at Priors House were and are amazing, from the top down and I want to thank Telford Suite for their unwavering support to me personally and for their exceptional care towards Mum.
Mum lived in a place that was forward-thinking, flexible and empathetic to the needs and wants of its residents. She was never defined by her dementia so could feel very much in control of her life but within the confines of a safe and protected environment.

Staff on Telford were always respectful, kind, able to perfectly gauge Mum´s moods and more often than not could use humour to diffuse a potentially tricky situation. I am thankful for their kindness, compassion and calm at a hugely distressing time for our family especially towards the end and I shall never forget the humanity and care shown to my mother and me over the last four years. A great team led by a great Manager.

I was well looked after here and apart from the food, not always being warm enough for me, I was quite happy.

Mum and Dad have been at Priors House for 3 months and have settled in very well and are looked after in a very caring way. The staff genuinely seem to enjoy their roles and always have time for a chat and a smile which creates a great camaraderie. The food is great and there are a really good range of activities including visits to local towns and the pub. From our first contact with Priors everybody has gone out of their way to help us - thank you to everyone. Long may it continue.

During this last year, we have had 3 elderly parents needing care. Having visited and experienced many homes in the Sussex and Warwickshire, we have found none better than Priors House to care for our nearest and dearest. The attractive, modern, well-designed home provides a pleasant atmosphere with a friendly, professional and supportive team stretching from the bottom to the top of the system. As a family, we cannot recommend Priors House highly enough.

I can’t thank the staff at Priors’ House enough for the love, care and kindness they gave to my mum who had Alzheimer’s. When she was ill at the end of her life, the staff were amazing; I was so touched that everyone would drop in to see how she was and also gave me so much support. Thanks to them she had happy times there with opportunities to share a laugh and enjoy activities. Her appetite and general well-being increased as she enjoyed the superb food from talented chefs and in eating together with others. The activities organisers were excellent, offering something for everyone as well as for friends and families to join in. Priors House is a beautiful building but it is the staff who made this such a welcoming, loving and happy home for her at the end of her life. It is so challenging working with dementia, but they are an exceptional team dedicated to caring for the vulnerable people in their care and also so supportive of families and each other.

Gran loves it at Priors House. She likes going up to the café for a cuppa and do the jigsaw. She loves having her hair done in the salon. It's like going to the hairdressers before she came here.

The carers are lovely and treat gran with respect at all times.

The home is very clean and hygienic and the staff are very helpful and professional. They do activities daily and try and involve all residents as much as possible, also taking residents on trips out to local shops and attractions. Also, the staff encourage residents in gardening and cooking. The staff are very well trained in their jobs. The food is to the highest standard and all needs are catered for.

It's always nice to see my grandmother at Priors House. She's looked after very well there and we always go and sit in the lounge area with her and have a cup of coffee and some of the delicious homemade cake. There's a lovely atmosphere there and everyone is always friendly and approachable.

My father and I were very nervous and daunted by the fear of how my mother would react to living with dementia in a care home. The staff at Priors House demonstrated total commitment when caring for her and persevered through some difficult times. She settled and was happy and began to build relationships with both staff and the others around her. I would recommend Priors House and appreciate the time, care and attention the staff have given to my mother and the family.

Thank you all so much for taking good care of mum. Particular thanks to the unit manager and the registered manager who pulled out all the stops to do the initial assessment quickly and get a room sorted for mum within 24 hours!

This enabled me to still do the new york marathon and help raise money for cancer research. So, a massive thanks from me and the team of us who were part of the walk the walk team.

Francine Summers
Francine SummersJob Title:Home Manager

I managed care homes before I joined Care UK and was even an area manager, overseeing a number of homes. I’ve also worked as a ‘turnaround manager’ – helping care homes to gain regulatory compliance – so I’ve lots of experience in care homes.

There’s a lot to do when you’re a home manager, but the best bit is having a coffee with the residents and chatting with them. When I can I also join in with activities because it’s wonderful seeing residents enjoying themselves – after all, that’s why we do what we do. I love seeing happy residents living fulfilling lives in our warm and friendly home.
