Scarlett House's team has been fully supportive during the process of choosing, preparing and moving into respite with them for my mother. Always a difficult time, with complex decisions potentially being clouded by complex emotions, but their calm, caring, supportive and patient manner made the whole experience as easy as possible. Dave was available and responsive to all our questions and guided us through the paperwork and carefully explained the process. The nursing and care team have been nothing short of saintly, supporting my mum in difficult times and showing a care and compassion which allows us to be confident in the choice we have made. All the staff from the reception team to matron are excellent

Sue and I visited Janet yesterday and I wanted to thank all the staff at Scarlet House for looking after Mum so well. She looked beautiful; her hair was superbly coiffured, her lipstick and nails beautifully applied and her legs are looking the best for years. She seems very happy at Scarlet House and we love the care and attention that she is receiving. Please pass our thanks to all staff.

From the evening that Sue arrived at Scarlet House she has been very happy and comfortable. She says all the staff are very kind and respectful to her on a daily basis.

My interaction with the top staff has always been very friendly and helpful and can't fault them.

The home runs a lot of activities for the residents to help them participate each day and to interact with each other in the home.

Lovely, welcome home.

From initial enquiry to dads admission has been flawless. The welcome and care dad has received has been outstanding. All the staff (too many to mention individually) have been nothing but professional, compassionate and caring. Dad is bedbound but this does not isolate him because they all interact and take activities to him. The whole team are always happy, smiling and calm, having time to stop, chat and answer any questions. All we wanted for dad was a safe, comfortable, happy and caring environment which is exactly what he has. Dad has settled well in a short space of time and as a family we are so grateful to the whole team for making this possible. Scarlet House has exceeded our expectations.

Overall my experience was a very positive one but here are a few constructive comments that may be useful to follow up on.
Room: I didn't take a small mirror in with me and unfortunately found the mirror in the bathroom was too high for me to use. It would have been useful to have had a shelf in the bathroom to put toiletries on.
Food & Drink: The first week I was in, the food and drink were excellent but the second week from Tuesday onwards, the food did not relate to the menu so was confusing and it wasn't the same standard as the first week.

I would like to stress over all, every need was attended to and I was looked after with kindness and compassion. I would particularly like to thank David, Anu, Harmony and Chloe.

Mum, who has vascular dementia, has just moved after spending six months at Scarlet House. I cannot speak highly enough of the friendly and professional atmosphere there. There was always a cheery greeting from helpers and residents alike and I so enjoyed taking Mum to the cafe, where it felt more like a posh hotel than a care home! Mum also enjoyed many of the activities. Adrian and his team handled Mum's transition from home to care home living marvellously and both Mum and me were very sad to leave everyone. Mum was only moved to be nearer to me. A huge thanks to all for such a lovely experience in difficult times.

Thank you so much to David, Aleah, Adrian, Jason (sorry - I don't know his surname) and all the staff at Scarlet House. You couldn't have been more helpful in getting Dad settled in at late notice, and over the Christmas period too. Really, you guys have gone above and beyond.

Moving into a care home is obviously a big adjustment and the staff go to enormous lengths to make their residents feel at home, respected, listened to and valued. Dad is very fond of all of you.

It has been a huge relief to know that Dad is in safe hands and I especially appreciate how welcoming the Care UK team make visitors. There are no visiting hours, tea and coffee are always available and I have never had anything other than "good vibes" from every single member of staff.

Thank you so much for all your efforts.

I would like to thank Jancy who have been wonderful with her calm approach. Her 10 years experience is very evident in her organization skills & empathy which is so important as a nurse.

I would also like to praise all the staff here at scarlet house, I am really happy with the overall service of care, all the careers do a great job in supporting me and all other residents who live here. I moved in on a respite stay and am due to go home on Thursday this week, within this time I have been supported and cared for within my rehabilitation, to allow me to be able to return home.

I couldn't recommend Scarlet house and all the staff enough. Thank you

We have received excellent service from the moment we arrived at Scarlet House to look around with Dave. We are so grateful for his patience and understanding during Mum's visits to look at rooms and trying to decide if this was the right move for her. Since Mum moved in, Dave has continued to engage with Mum and the family to make us feel welcome and ensure we are happy.
Jenna was very warm, caring, thorough and understanding when she visited Mum at home to do the assessment which meant Mum felt very positive about moving the Scarlet House. And she has continued to engage with us since Mum arrived.
And Louise & Jancy, the nurses on Mum's suite are delightful and again very approachable, caring and always make time for the family and Mum if we have any concerns or questions.

And finally, I would also like to say what a delight all the staff/carers are. Always a smile or a wave and in particular Louise in Mum's suite who understands Mum's needs and desire to look nice.

I, when visiting, always receive a warm welcome from entering Scarlet House to when I leave. The staff have made all effort to get to know me even as a weekly visitor. My friend is calm and content on the whole, and has accepted that it is now home. The staff are attentive, kind and considerate, making all effort to chat with her even though they are always very busy. When the day comes for me to go into a home, I would be happy to be in Scarlet House.

From day one I knew that I had made the right decision for Mum. The staff have many priorities when introducing a new resident to their new home, one of the most important was spending time and energy getting to know the needs and wants of Mum, making her feel comfortable and safe. Mum has been living in Scarlet House for five months and has referred to it as home within a few months of moving in.
This is due to the expertise and warmth of care delivered by the staff, I couldn't have asked for more.

Scarlet House has a very proactive attitude for care and a very positive environment for my mum to live in.

My father moved into Scarlet House in August last year, and died this weekend. For the entire time he lived there, he was treated with the most incredible compassion and care by every member of staff. He had dementia so couldn't remember very much, but he always remembered how nice the food is and how lovely the staff are! Through this last week when he entered his final days, I have been overwhelmed by the dignity that he has been treated with. He has had the most dignified death I could possibly have imagined or wished for. My family are so grateful that we found Scarlet House. It has exceeded all my expectations of residential care. Thank you everyone!

Adrian BoldogJob Title:Home Manager

Becoming a Home Manager at Scarlet House has been the highlight of my career so far. Before this, I was working as a Team Leader. I really wanted an opportunity to progress in my career, and that’s something Care UK has offered.

As Home Manager, it’s important to be caring, compassionate and have a good eye for detail. You also need to have good interpersonal skills and be diligent, hardworking and committed to the home.

I love seeing the residents enjoying activities in the home – it's my favourite part of my working day. I’m proud to work with a fantastic team that makes a difference in residents’ day-to-day lives.

Outside of work, I enjoy family life, and my other interests include music and cars.
