Heol Don is a modern purpose-built facility, ideal for a wide range of residential, nursing and dementia care needs for the elderly. An experienced care team tailor care plans to individual needs for short or long term requirements including respite, convalescence and palliative care, as well as care for dementia residential.

The whole team at Heol Don have done a great job in keeping Mum safe throughout the current difficult times and even kept a level of activities keeping spirits up. It's good to see the new visiting room in operation which works equally well for residents and visitors.

My Dad went to Heol Don, Whitchurch mid-March 2020 for five weeks respite and then lockdown arrived. Consequently, Dad has remained in Heol Don ever since and both he and I have been very happy with the situation. Thank you. My daughters and I have had several window and one garden visit and Dad looks
well and happy. During our video and phone calls, he is jovial and all the staff are truly caring. We highly recommendHeol Don and Dad is now a permanent resident.

Having viewed other premises, our mother moved to Heol Don at the beginning of February 2020 and only a few weeks before lockdown. Importantly, our immediate impressions of Heol Don were very positive; all staff were friendly and empathetic to our concerns and helped make the transition from home to
residential care as seamless as possible.
The management has been extremely efficient not only generally, but specifically against the backdrop of maintaining a covid free environment for vulnerable people and their carers for which we are grateful and appreciate the stress that they have had to deal with. Mum is very happy and is much less anxious than when living at home. She enjoys the activities, the food and company. Staff have been great and are respectful of Mum's needs and wants. Communication and responses from the manager are prompt and regular and reassuring for us as a family during this fraught time. She has been very responsive to any queries I have had.

She has been a resident for 4 years and has always been really well looked after by a lovely caring team. They have coped extremely well with the COVID outbreak and ensured that all the residents are well-cared for and loved, which has made not visiting regularly easier to cope with. Well done everyone

My mother has been a resident at Heol Don since May 2019. The staff looking after her have been brilliant during this time, helping her to settle in initially and have since taken excellent care of her, paying attention to her needs and encouraging her to join in with many of the activities on offer

My mother has lived at Heol Don since December 2017 after a prolonged stay in hospital. She has always been treated with kindness and respect by all members of staff. Mum has been very well cared for, especially since a nasty fall which meant a hospital visit and when suffering from chest infections.
The carers have always shown an understanding of mum's character and sense of humour.....she says that they are like her friends! She is able to choose the meals which suit her small appetite, often needing encouragement to eat from staff.
Mum has enjoyed the various activities on offer..particularly musical events and visits from the local children.
We have always been impressed by the way staff greet us, the family, and make us feel very welcome. Since lockdown, it has been difficult not visiting the home, but we have been sent newsletters and receive phone calls and will soon be able to arrange "garden" visits.
Overall a lovely home where mum is very happy.

My dad has been a resident for eight months and has been well looked after in all that time and during this long lockdown. It is a relief to know that he is safe. Staff seem to go the extra mile in making sure he is comfortable and well fed.

My mother has been a resident in the nursing unit for two and a half years and has been looked after by a lovely, caring team of staff. Management and staff are vigilant to her needs. Heol Don is a lovely well-run care home; we could not wish for Mum to be in a better place.
The family greatly appreciates
how much effort is being made by all the staff to help the residents and their relatives cope with this period of "separation" due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. The care and devotion demonstrated by the team is exceptional.

My mother spent 2 weeks respite at Heol Don.
Words cannot express the relief at mum being in such wonderful surroundings. It put our minds totally at rest when we went to our son's wedding. Many thanks to all the staff who were all so lovely to my mother and ourselves.
