The care my dad received at Heol Don Care Home was second to none! Although he was only in the home for a short period of time, he was treated with great dignity and respect. The home is in lovely surroundings, and the rooms are of a high standard. The staff are professional but kind and are prepared to go that extra mile. Thank you, Heol Don, for looking after my dad; it is very much appreciated.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always so nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one was cared for and well looked after by us at Heol Don. Thank you again.
I have so much praise to give Heol Don - they have been so accommodating and supportive of my mum and dad since they both went in last month, even ensuring their rooms were close together acknowledging their 62 years of marriage. The food is of a very high quality and has plenty of variety daily. All the staff are extremely kind and caring, always doing their utmost best to assist with the family visits in a very Covid-safe manner. I know my mum and dad are in the best possible place for them and that is so important for myself and my brother.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your parents in our care and feeling like your parents are cared for. Thank you for choosing Heol Don for your parents' stay.
Mum and Dad have been in Heol Don for 6 weeks, and they look great! You can tell that they are being well looked after, just by their appearance. They are always clean and in smart clothes. Their rooms are very high standard. They both seem happy and comfortable.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad to hear that both your parents are happy in our care. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make them comfortable at Heol Don.
Mum decided to move into a care home in May 21, or after a virtual tour of Heol Don, quickly decided it was the place for her - and rightly so. The move happened efficiently and quickly. Mum was given a great welcome, and we were able to spend time with her to settle her in, within Covid rules obviously, which were rigorously applied. Mum was initially in residential care and loved her room and that she could go out into the garden and was looking forward to joining activities and mixing. Sadly she became ill and was moved upstairs for palliative care after two weeks. The care she received was wonderful, the staff were so kind to her but also very professional. I was with Mum for the last 10-days of her life, and the staff did everything possible to keep her comfortable and to allow me as much access as possible within the Covid rules. She was given choices, re food etc, right up until she was no longer able to decide, and I was treated with care and consideration and felt so well supported by everyone.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad to have been able to support both you and your mum through this difficult time. We hope you will be able to go away from this knowing that she received the best care possible. Thank you again for taking the time to write this review.
My mother has settled into Heol Don very easily. The staff are very kind and attentive, and nothing is too much trouble. My mother feels very safe and secure in her environment, and I feel happy knowing she is being so well looked after. The facilities and cleanliness of the home are exemplary.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. It is lovely to hear that Mum has settled so well into our care home and feels safe. We hope to continue providing your mother with the best possible care.
At the moment I am in Heol Don Care Home for respite care. It is the best place I've ever stayed in for help, following many transient ischaemic attacks and a blackout. Never have I been dealt with more effectively or pleasantly and quickly. Not one member of staff has to learn to smile or to act quickly when a request for help is asked. If one day I have to become a resident I know without a doubt where I'm going.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so happy to hear that you feel that Heol Don is the best care home that you have stayed at. Please just let us know if you need us in future and we will be happy to help again.
Dad has been a resident in Heol Don since September 2019 and he is very happy here and is well looked after. Covid-19 has been very difficult for everyone but Heol Don has been on top of it all and his care has been excellent.

Thank you so much to Bupa, Heol Don for the care my mother had over her 3-week respite. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay and felt safe which was a great comfort to us as a family. She will definitely be back for another respite stay. Thanks a lot.

My mum has been a resident of Heol Don since August 2019 and the care she receives is second to none. The staff are extremely kind and supportive and work tirelessly to meet Mum's needs. I always receive a warm welcome from management and staff when visiting my friend. It has been a very easy process to arrange visits and testing during the pandemic and I have had window, garden and recently indoor visits. My friend is looked after extremely well by the staff and is very complimentary about the care and support she receives. She enjoys the food and the daily menus look very appetising. The standard and cleanliness of the facilities are excellent. She is always encouraged to join in activities and it is nice to see photos of her taking part on the home's Facebook page.

I came to Heol Don for three weeks rest and recuperation following a cardiac arrest and four weeks in hospital. During my stay, I received the highest standard of care from the staff, regular meals and a comfortable room. The friendly atmosphere and can-do attitudes of the carers helped me really feel at home and recover so that I could return to my home. I would stay at Heol Don again and recommend the home to anyone who was looking for the highest standard of care.
Thank you for your kind words. It is so nice to hear that you felt so well cared for by our staff and that after a few weeks you were well enough to be able to return home. Thank you for choosing Heol Don.
I cannot recommend Bupa Heol Don Care Home in Cardiff highly enough. My mother is currently staying there following surgery as she requires care in order to recover. She arrived at the start of April and is now ten days into her six week stay. From the moment of first contact, everyone has been extremely friendly and helpful. I have been offered a high degree of reassurance at a worrying time due to the level of professionalism on offer, from management level through to the staff providing day-to-day care (Covid safe measures). Nothing has been too much trouble. Everyone has been at great pains to help my mum to settle in. Mum had to quarantine on arrival but had immediate access to the gardens from her comfortable room. I have been able to visit Mum in a pod behind a screen and this worked well and we have face-to-face visits coming up soon as she is now out of quarantine. I have been in daily telephone contact with my mum and she doesn’t stop raving about how caring everyone is.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are so pleased that you found everything to your and your mother's expectations and more. It's always nice to hear the praise of our staff who even through difficult times try to make resident comfortable and important. Now the weather is...
I've enjoyed the food and the care.

I am very satisfied with my situation here at Heol Don Care Home. The rooms are lovely, and we are very well looked after by the staff. The food, in particular, is very good, and we are able to have a variety of food to suit our needs, as long as we provide the staff with reasonable notice.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, we are so pleased to hear that you're satisfied with the services Heol Don are providing you. Please let us know if there is anything more we can do for you.
The whole team at Heol Don have done a great job in keeping Mum safe throughout the current difficult times and even kept a level of activities keeping spirits up. It's good to see the new visiting room in operation which works equally well for residents and visitors.
