Heol Don is a modern purpose-built facility, ideal for a wide range of residential, nursing and dementia care needs for the elderly. An experienced care team tailor care plans to individual needs for short or long term requirements including respite, convalescence and palliative care, as well as care for dementia residential.

Heol Don offers first-class accommodation and facilities including sensory gardens, a hair salon and even an on-site cinema. My mother is extremely well cared for at Heol Don. I have nothing but admiration for the way this home has been managed throughout this pandemic. Our family has had endless video calls, window visits, regular newsletters from management, all of which have helped us and our mother through a very stressful
time.

My mother has been a resident at Heol Don since May 2019. The staff looking after her have been brilliant during this time, helping her to settle in initially and have since taken excellent care of her, paying attention to her needs and encouraging her to join in with many of the activities on offer
at Heol Don. The staff are very helpful and friendly and there is always a very happy and relaxed atmosphere in the home.

My mother has lived at Heol Don since December 2017 after a prolonged stay in hospital. She has always been treated with kindness and respect by all members of staff. Mum has been very well cared for, especially since a nasty fall which meant a hospital visit and when suffering from chest infections.
The carers have always shown an understanding of mum's character and sense of humour.....she says that they are like her friends! She is able to choose the meals which suit her small appetite, often needing encouragement to eat from staff.
Mum has enjoyed the various activities on offer..particularly musical events and visits from the local children.
We have always been impressed by the way staff greet us, the family, and make us feel very welcome. Since lockdown, it has been difficult not visiting the home, but we have been sent newsletters and receive phone calls and will soon be able to arrange "garden" visits.
Overall a lovely home where mum is very happy.

My dad has been a resident for eight months and has been well looked after in all that time and during this long lockdown. It is a relief to know that he is safe. Staff seem to go the extra mile in making sure he is comfortable and well fed.

My mother has been a resident in the nursing unit for two and a half years and has been looked after by a lovely, caring team of staff. Management and staff are vigilant to her needs. Heol Don is a lovely well-run care home; we could not wish for Mum to be in a better place.
The family greatly appreciates
how much effort is being made by all the staff to help the residents and their relatives cope with this period of "separation" due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. The care and devotion demonstrated by the team is exceptional.

My room was comfortable quiet and equipped with everything I needed (except a reading light). The meals were good and provided plenty of fruit and vegetables.

Laundry mislaid, eventually found.

My mother spent 2 weeks respite at Heol Don.
Words cannot express the relief at mum being in such wonderful surroundings. It put our minds totally at rest when we went to our son's wedding. Many thanks to all the staff who were all so lovely to my mother and ourselves.

My wife has Alzheimer's Disease and has been resident at Heol Don for some nine months. During the early time staff were skilful in assessing her needs and settling into the home. Then and since the working atmosphere has always been friendly and supportive and care staff seem to team well and support
one another. When talked to they reflect a good understanding of my wife's needs always positive about her and talk of her in a constructive and good humoured way. Trained staff have worked hard to maintain her now diminished sensory awareness and coordination using music, pottery, potting plants etc as a stimulus.
The care home is managed really well from friendly senior management through senior and junior carers to the excellent kitchen, laundry cleaning and maintained staff.

The care and compassion shown by the staff of Heol Don goes above and beyond anything you would ever expect from a care home. Every single member of staff has shown so much support for my grandparents and us as a family at such a difficult time. We could not wish for them to be in a better place.

It is a hard decision for a family having to decide on a residential care home for loved ones.

We were impressed when we first visited the home and our experience over two months confirmed that view. The care provided, facilities and catering were all first class - and so friendly and efficient.
We enjoyed our stay and were much better for it.
The home was successful no doubt due to the general
manager's warm and efficient mood.
