My sister now living at Edgbaston Manor wanted to throw a party to thank friends for their kind support following her stroke in April. Edgbaston Manor staff stepped up to this very well. Before the day the Chef and the team worked thoughtfully with my sister to find her preferences for the menu and setting. An attractive menu was created, with care taken over dietary requirements for the 20 guests. They even offered a backup system to play the exact music that my sister wanted. On the day, the Receptionist made all her guests feel welcome. My sister's carer had come in on one of her days off to help her get ready to enjoy the event, which was much appreciated. Edgbaston Manor benefits from a delightful rooftop terrace and adjoining lounge, which provides a relaxing and spacious venue. The quality of the food was, as always there, first-class. The party was a great success and gave great pleasure to us all. An excellent event thanks in great part to the staff.

I am very grateful to the staff who cared for my parents during their time at Edgbaston Manor. The care home staff went out of their way to accommodate us, including organising a pre-Christmas meal in December last year, which was a lovely family occasion that my parents responded to very positively. The regular activities organised by the care home were also appreciated and it was especially good to hear how on one occasion my father had made a connection with two other residents who had worked in similar professions and how my mother's reading skills had been put to good use in a poetry reading to other residents. The genuine warmth of the staff towards my parents was evident on my regular visits and the staff were always friendly and willing to help.

Thank you for your review and your kind words, particularly about the team, which I know theyll be very happy to hear. In regards to fluids, we cant of course talk about any individuals needs due to confidentiality, but to reassure you, where residents require support in this area for any reason, their fluid intake is monitored very closely by the whole care team, and a fluid chart is used if needed to record this. For residents that are more able, or do not have conditions where we need to monitor this for them, the team regularly come round with both hot drinks as well as water and other soft drinks throughout the day, and will of course always be on hand to get drinks for residents, or to support them to get their own refreshments, at any time. If youd like any more information on this, or have any questions, please do feel free to ask any of our senior team at Edgbaston Manor and well always be happy to help.

I am a friend of a resident. I can not comment on value for money. The staff are courteous and caring and the place is very clean. Sometimes there are not enough staff to deal with all demands of patients at once.

My mother-in-law has battled with dementia whilst at home for the past few years. She moved into Edgbaston Manor recently, and it’s made such a significant change. Mum is more at peace and relaxed.
Mum has a bubbly and joyful personality, and for some time now she lost her spark. Being at Edgbaston Manor, we can see her spark as comes back. As a family, we love it here, so much so that I’ve asked if I can move in myself!

At Edgbaston Manor, teamwork is at the heart of everything we do. We support each other to provide the highest standards of care and to make our home a happy, welcoming place for residents and families alike. My door is always open if you’d ever like to share any feedback or simply have a chat.
I’ve been a Registered Nurse for more than 18 years and have more than 12 years of experience working in care homes. Throughout my career, I’ve learned that being a good manager means leading with compassion, patience and resilience, while supporting everyone in the home to do their very best.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, especially my daughter, and visiting my favourite place in the world, Cornwall.
