My experience has overall been good however there are some changes that could escalate your rating to excellent which I believe can be achieved with little cost to yourselves I have made the suggestions below, staff have been wonderful and knowledgeable, no complaints. Fans in the rooms were safe it’s too hot.
Sheets that fit the bed sleeping on a plastic mattress is not nice! Cotton bedding would help with the temperature as well.
Hot food cold soup is not appealing and more vegetable choices should be available the menu only has one choice despite main.
Instructions on an actual menu that any requests for different dinners should be made to staff at lunchtime.

Staff available to take residents to the bathroom it’s not pleasant hearing people distressed waiting for what is a basic need although I appreciate it’s difficult to meet demands at busy times, but this is a Care Home, not a hotel.

I like this care home as my grandad always smiles when I visit him. Everyone is friendly and they care lots for my grandad's needs.
Nothing is too much and they are always there to help if we need.

My first visit alone and I was warmly welcomed at reception and helped with code to enable access. With humour, I was reminded twice of this code!
My friend, the resident, is very comfortable and a carer was with her and treated her with gentle respect.
We shared a drink in the coffee room on the first floor which was warm and easy to access.
I was leaving about 30 minutes later and was unable to get a response to help me return my friend to her room but managed to do this myself.
I’m aware that it was a busy time (almost lunchtime) so understand that immediate response may have been difficult.

I wondered whether an intercom was available and suggest it may be a useful tool to enable communication in this sort of time.

Dear Marie. I am so pleased you enjoyed your visit to your friend, so important to keep friendships and relationships a priority. This is of great value for our residents. Anya Court Care Home is an excellent care home and from the moment Dad walked through the doors into reception, he felt at home.
Right from the amazing reception team, the admin team and the carers, we knew Dad would be happy. He couldn’t have picked a nicer place.
He is looked after extremely well. The carers have a wonderful bond with him and he is always happy.
There are plenty of activities going on which Dad often attends and he enjoys visiting the garden.
The team on Ballard are amazing and hardworking and very welcoming to all the families visiting.

We would highly recommend Anya Care Home.

Anya Court is managed very efficiently, and the staff are all most welcoming and friendly. Everybody always speaks to me when I visit and reports back on my husband they show genuine concern for him and have strategies in place to meet all of his needs. I feel that he is safe and well cared for there.

Reply from Michelle Sides, General Manager at Hallmark Anya Court

Thank you so much for your kind words. Knowing you walk away from here feeling your loved one is safe and well cared for is so important to us. We are happy in the knowledge that our poppa is well fed and well cared for at Anya Court. Although many activities are offered to the residents, Poppa declines them all, preferring to stay in his own room, apart from when we walk him down to the dining room for a drink, he's still always asked by the lovely staff if he'd like to take part in the various activities. He sometimes says that the food isn't much good, but that's probably down to him now having a soft diet.

Reply from Shila Odedra, .Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Anya Court

Thank you so much for your kind words. Poppa does enjoy his own company and that is absolutely fine, everyone is an individual and we cater for those individual needs. Our lifestyle team visit him for a 1-1 to ensure he is ok and his new key worker will ensure he has everything that he wants and needs. I will ask the chef to pay him a visit to ensure he enjoys his food more. General Manager.

Since arriving from hospital following a fall at home resulting in an operation my mother has received a high standard of care. She now feels at home at Anya Court but most importantly she feels safe and well cared for. I too have peace of mind which is also important. Any issues have been dealt with. Communication is vital though sometimes this has been lacking.

Thank you for your kind words. My father-in-law was at Anya Court for Respite care during October and November and was invited to attend their Christmas dinner at a venue on 21st December. This he happily attended, we dropped him off at Anya Court in the morning and collected him gone 5 pm. He joined in with the rest of the residents with the minibus transfer, a three-course meal with drinks and entertainment. He had a wonderful day and we thank them for making him so welcome and giving him a good day out.

Thank you for your feedback. It was a pleasure to welcome him to our Christmas celebrations. I went along too and he had a lovely time as we all did getting into the festive celebrations. It was nice for him to catch up with the friends he made during his respite stay and we look forward to welcoming him back again soon.

My Dad has lived at Anya Court for a few years and during that time has moved to different communities within the home as his needs have changed. The home is bright, modern and beautifully clean and the whole team know and looks after my Dad - reception, housekeeping, lifestyles and carers alike.

My Dad now lives within the dementia community (Ballard) and I have been impressed with the care provided by this team in so many ways. His personal care is excellent, allowing independence where possible and ensuring dignity is maintained. He is always smartly dressed whenever I visit. The team have taken time to get to know my Dad, to learn about his past and his likes/dislikes. Nothing is too much trouble. I feel confident that he is safe. Risks are assessed and mitigated whilst enabling fun and freedom. Family are welcomed when visiting and encouraged to join various events held throughout the year. Communication from management is excellent and feedback is actioned.

Right from the first point of contact to enquire about costs and facilities Anya Court performed extremely well. All the Anya team were polite, well-informed and swift to respond. Our Mother was only there briefly, not really long enough for her to get to know all the team and experience the facilities, no doubt she would have appreciated the activities if time had allowed it, however, she received extremely good care in her short time there.

The home is bright, modern, clean with good security and well maintained, with modern beds. The Anya Court team showed a lot of care and compassion to our Mother and made sure we were all looked after in the difficult closing stages of Mum's life. As a token gesture of our appreciation, the family bought some autumn flowers for the gardening club to plant out at their leisure. Would like to pass on our sincere thanks to all the staff at Anya Court.

Nicholas, thank you so much for your kind and sincere words. It was our honour to care for your mother and support all the family at such a precious time.
