Augustus Court care home, located in the picturesque village of Garforth, provides residential and residential dementia care designed around the individual needs of each person.

This beautiful home features plenty of areas in which to relax, dine, exercise, socialise and be creative. Many rooms have lovely views of the pretty landscaped garden where residents can enjoy gardening activities year round.

After a shaky start, my elderly brother has settled at Augustus Court. The caregivers are pleasant, friendly, and kind and treat him with respect and humour. The home manager makes herself readily available to answer questions or help in any way she can, and has been very supportive throughout. It would
be nice if staff had time to sit and talk to residents but overall very happy with Augustus Court.

My uncle started living at Augustus Court in July after several periods in hospital. Within a few weeks, he looked visibly healthier and happier. The staff are very caring and know him well. He loves his new home and has settled in so well to a new way of living. The staff are very helpful to relatives
and will do all they can to answer our queries and questions. Many thanks to the whole team - we are confident that our uncle is safe and well cared for as an individual.

The home has much improved since the previous manager and deputy manager have left the home. Staff and residents have a more relaxed atmosphere. New members of management have a more friendly approach to running the home. The garden should be used more by the residents. It is wasted space, not used
enough. Looking forward to seeing improvements in my home environment.

I am often worried and concerned about the standard of care in the home. The staff, though basically kind, never have any time to spend and my mother-in-law spends a lot of time alone. Carer calls to her room generally last seconds, not even minutes! I worry that no one takes that extra few moments
to speak to her and not just require a 'yes' or 'no' reply. Caring should surely be more than just giving a drink or food? This is basically a staffing issue. Presumably insufficient staff?

I came to this home in 2017, from living in a 4-star hotel in Spain for 8 years. My first opinion was that it was like living in that 4-star hotel. I have a lovely room on the ground floor having access to the garden. My room is kept clean and tidy. The food is up and down. Staff are helpful. I am happy
here.

Since Dad moved into Augustus Court in October 2020, the home has been in lockdown and Dad has been poorly (non-Covid). All the staff have gone the extra mile to care for him and keep me updated on his health and wellbeing. I cannot thank them enough; you are all angels!

My mother passed away at Augustus Court in August. She had lived there since it opened 4 years ago. She was very happy and well cared for. The staff were always pleasant and kept me well informed.
Her final days were in a lovely home where the staff did everything possible to keep her comfortable.
The support for her and the whole family was outstanding.

The residence is warm, welcoming, spacious and homely. We found the staff to be approachable and caring with warm personalities offering care without patronising. Firstly, when looking for a home for my mother circa 3 years ago this was the best! it's lovely and a home from home. The staff are brill and the home I describe to external parties is a 5-star hotel! The home baking and meals are wonderful. More recently the care and controls re Covid-19 exceptional

My relative has been a resident at Augustus Court for over two years following a terminal diagnosis which has been extremely well managed. She has always received excellent care from the staff, but particularly during these unprecedented times. Coronavirus measures were quickly introduced into Augustus
Court with clear guidelines given to residents and relatives throughout. Care has been exemplary at all times, and I would have no hesitation in recommending.

This was my third stay at Augustus Court for respite and as usual, the professionalism and friendliness of manager and staff was excellent. It is regrettable that on this occasion, the cooked food and menu was not as good as the previous visits. Something went wrong for the evening meal on 7/11/2019
which was somewhat delayed and, I'm afraid to say, appalling. Nevertheless, I will be back.

Since I came into Augustus Court I feel a lot better in myself. The staff are very helpful and the carers are very good and helpful. I felt awful before I came but now I feel a lot better in myself. And it has helped my son as well who was worried due to my health.

Today I visited Augustus Court to visit my friend and celebrate their harvest festival. As always I was warmly welcomed. We had a lovely service, followed by an excellent lunch and as always, the staff were kind and considerate to all the residents and very patient. I have visited on several occasions

Lack of care in the transfer of information between night and day staff. Reliance on a diary for important relevant care information seems a very poor system. It needs verbal info from manager to staff on duty to ensure correct care is given.
