Today I visited Augustus Court to visit my friend and celebrate their harvest festival. As always I was warmly welcomed. We had a lovely service, followed by an excellent lunch and as always, the staff were kind and considerate to all the residents and very patient. I have visited on several occasions and always found the staff excellent.

Lack of care in the transfer of information between night and day staff. Reliance on a diary for important relevant care information seems a very poor system. It needs verbal info from manager to staff on duty to ensure correct care is given.

My mother was very happy, staff took time to talk to her as it was her first time in care. She enjoyed the activities and the food.

Every time we visit the home it has a great atmosphere. It is spotlessly clean, with helpful friendly staff not just care assistants but all the staff.
It feels like a 5-star hotel and the rooms are beautiful.

All in all, a very nice experience to visit our friend in such lovely surroundings.

My old aunt, aged 97, had broken her arm and was in hospital for 10 days, then released into Augustus Court Garforth. She has settled in very quickly and is enjoying the comforts of an excellent and comfortable home. She has been joining in flower arranging and an outside garden fete. The staff have been very caring and she has joined in with other residents.

We were made extremely welcome on our arrival with my mum who is now in residence. The staff were informative, friendly and very warming. Nothing was too much trouble and we were told to stay as long as we wanted to settle our relative in. We were given refreshments whilst we conducted the essential paperwork and on leaving felt comfortable she is in safe hands. Excellent place for care thank you all so much.

We have visited our mother for 4 consecutive days, spending 7-8 hours a day at Augustus Care Home. The staff were friendly and helpful. Specifically, we lost a wallet in the parking lot and everyone from the manager to staff were helpful and thoughtful. The wallet was handed into the police station and everyone involved were so thoughtful. Thank you.

I came here from Spain after living in a four-star hotel for 8 years.
I think this care home is first class in all respects.

I am very happy to be living here.

Over a period of 22 months, I have gained a great deal of confidence in the care given at Augustus Court. I have particular confidence in the management, in whom I see a real commitment to ensuring that the home is well run and the residents are well cared for and respected. My thanks to all for your care of mum and also for the care and consideration showed towards me and other family members.

Been here for nearly 2 years. In that time I don't think things have improved. I'm happy with staff, etc. but don't think food is as good as it was at first. The menu is repetitive i.e sandwiches and jacket potatoes.

Augustus Court has looked after my father for almost a year. The level of care shown by all the staff is exceptional. They are always willing to help in any way they can. All residents are treated with respect and kindness. The home itself is always clean and tidy.

My father made the decision to move into Augustus Court in Oct 2016 and in the 18 months he lived there, he never once regretted it. He felt that he was well looked after and that his wishes were always respected.
I visited him almost daily, and was always happy with the standards of care, cleanliness, etc. the rooms are very comfortable, and there are great areas for communal living. I noticed that whenever I visited, residents were sitting in the lounges and chatting or playing board games, etc, rather than the typical care home perception of everyone sitting in front of a television sleeping.
The residents are all treated as individuals and I loved the fact that I would often see staff interacting with the residents by playing cards, walking around the gardens or just sitting chatting to them. Visitors are well treated too and offered drinks etc along with the residents.

In his last few weeks, the care offered to my father was outstanding and I wish to thank all the staff for that.

The care home is very attractive aesthetically and residents feel as if they are living in a hotel rather than an institution. Staff are kind to residents and treat them as individuals rather than objects, this makes the home feel like they are living as a family and helps to build good relationships between residents and staff. The arrangement of furniture in the lounge and entrance areas encourages residents to sit together and face each other in groups, so encourages good relationships and camaraderie. I cannot recommend the home highly enough and want to thank the staff for their care.

Mum went in for respite but unfortunately, became unstable with balance. We extended her stay as she felt safe and had 24-hour cover. Mum did need more help daily and staff were excellent and willingly helped her more and more. Mum was not feeling well and staff called in the doctors. At A&E mum had a stroke and has recovered but now needs 24/7 nursing. She did enjoy her stay at Augustus Court and appreciated all the help given.

This care home is totally outstanding achieving the highest standards of excellence in every single area of care, comfort and hygienic medical standards. The patience, compassion and complete empathy displayed by all the staff who I have seen far exceed any standards and levels that I can think of. If I had to pick a residence outside my home in which to spend my last days it would be here without question.

We were very happy with the standard of care.

The staff were very kind and treated my father with dignity. They took him to hospital appointments and went out of their ways to help him settle. The food was delicious and the rooms were of a high standard.

I must mention one instance and one only when visiting my husband for the first time. His trousers were very wet and on changing him, found he had no pad or underpants on. As he has prostate cancer and dementia, he needs to be taken to the toilet regularly. He wouldn't be able to tell anyone about his circumstances, but all this was told when they did his assessment. Fortunately, this didn't happen again. I did bring it to notice to the lady in charge at the time, otherwise I found everything else satisfactory.
