My father has been admitted into Augustus Court and I find all the staff to be polite and pleasant to talk to and nothing seems to be any trouble.

All the rooms are set out to a high standard and everything is clean and tidy and I wish to thank all the staff for all the time they spend with the residents to make them feel at home.

From the minute we stepped through the door everyone was friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. My mum has improved physically and mentally in the two weeks she has been here.

Overall very satisfied with the care provided. There are some issues with meals, particularly evening time but the management is addressing this.

Drinks during the day are usually served but sometimes missed and water jugs need topping up regularly.

My mother in law had never been in respite before. In fact, she has never been away from home, ever!
When we saw Augustus Court for the first time we knew this would be THE best place for her to stay.
The decor is beautiful in all the social areas and the bedrooms cater for the disabled fantastically, as well as being decorated to a very high standard.
She stayed for 16 days. I can't speak highly enough of the care that she received.

I would not hesitate in using Augustus Court again.

I needed care for Mum at very short notice. Augustus Court responded quickly and kept Mum safe and well cared for until I could find alternative accommodation.
The staff are fabulous and so kind and the management team were an incredible support to both me and Mum.

I would highly recommend Augustus Court.

My father-in-law has been in Augusta Court for over a year. In this time, his speech and language has developed rapidly and his social skills have made rapid improvement due to the interaction with the staff and other residents.

The staff are helpful and friendly and have created a warm friendly environment.

My mother-in-law has been here 3 months and moved from another care home locally. She has settled in well and this is due to the staff and especially the range of activities that are organised weekly. The activities coordinator is a great asset to the home. The standard of facilities are excellent. She is very happy and that says a lot about the home.

My family had a very negative experience when my Grandma went into respite care here for a two week period. I could write an essay on this but to summarise:
There is a complete lack of communication between staff
It would seem that management are more interested in making money than actually caring for patients and their families
Some members of staff were incredibly rude and unwelcoming
Basic instructions and finer details are massively lacking
Our grandmother's clothes have not been returned to us
Management of the home and head office have still not responded to our complaints and issues and it had been over a month.

The beautiful building and amenities mask the lack of consistent care and attention to detail.

Thank you for your review.

My mother who was residing in Augustus Court has now passed away. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone at the home for all the care and support we as a family received in the last months of her life. Even while she was in hospital everyone we met asked after her. I especially remember the manager saying when it was apparent she was in the last days that he would do whatever he could to bring her back to the home as she was part of their family. This typifies to me the tremendous kindness of Augustus Court. Thank you.

My Dad came into Augustus Court after a fall at home. The care centre had been recommended to me and it has lived up to expectations with staff and carers being immediately helpful. Augustus Court has a lovely homely and friendly feel as soon as you walk through the door. The standard of care, kindness and support has been excellent and nothing is too much trouble for the staff and carers. Having cared for my father for a period of time at home, I had high standards and expectations of the sort of care I wanted and felt truly listened to. The fact that the care centre was wonderfully clean and well furnished, with a range of activities, was a bonus as it was the quality of care that was most important. The staff and carers are kind, considerate and treat each person as unique individuals and have an interest in their life stories. It has been a first class experience.

My aunt received only excellent care, the staff were second to none - polite, considerate, with nothing being too much trouble. Her room was always tidy and despite being a 'picky' eater she enjoyed mealtimes. Plenty of activities and she made lots of new friends. Augustus House is like a 5* hotel.

I visited Augustus Court after checking the Care Home site and receiving a personal recommendation.

I was impressed from the outset. All areas were beautifully furnished and the rooms had an inviting appeal. The staff were lovely and welcoming. I was certain my mother would be happy here. She came for 2 weeks respite care and has decided she would like to stay permanently. She is so happy here. Being here has given her a new lease of life. The food is lovely, she joins in the activities and has plenty of people to talk with. I am so pleased with the choice we made.

After spending Christmas and New Year in York hospital it was so good to spend a further two weeks respite care at Augustus Court Care Centre. It helped me recuperate, the peaceful surroundings and helpful staff made a big difference to my health.

My experience of Augustus Court Care Home is, without a doubt, excellent prior to making contact with the home for the initial viewing terms etc. I had never been inside a care home.

My impression is the home is of a 5-Star hotel, the furnishings/fittings/rooms are all excellent. All the staff are caring and trained to the needs of elderly users/clients. One of the main worries I had was my mindset that care homes, especially for the elderly, had a notable smell. This home has no unpleasant smells, it is quite the reverse which is a reflection of the care of the management and staff - excellent.
