We provide nursing, residential and dementia care. Please contact us for latest vacancies.
My name is Ian and I joined The Lindsay as home manager in December 2024.
I live locally to the home although I am from Bedfordshire originally.
My mother was a home carer for the local authority and then a warden controlled village, which first introduced me to the world of elderly care. I then worked as a care assistant for the local authority myself and became interested in rehabilitation aspects of geriatric care and this led me to train as a physiotherapist. I made a departure from clinical physiotherapy and returned to geriatric residential care management.
I worked as a home manager for Bupa for 7 years before moving to New Zealand and subsequently worked as a general manager for Bupa New Zealand for 11 years. As I got older, I felt the pull to return to my home country and moved back to the UK towards the end of 2024.
My passion is travel. I have been lucky enough to travel widely around the world and this is the basis for most of my interests and passions outside of work.
I joined Bupa in February 2018 and have been working as the clinical deputy manager at The Lindsay since May 2025.
During my time with Bupa, I’ve gained experience in several roles, including RGN, unit manager, clinical services manager, home manager and area support manager. Each position has helped shape my approach to leadership and strengthened my passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
I moved to the UK from Romania in 2015, and from the very beginning, I felt drawn to supporting older people. Working in the care sector has allowed me to build meaningful, long-lasting relationships with residents and their families. I truly value being part of an environment where compassion, dignity and trust are at the heart of everyday life.
What I enjoy most about my role is making a positive difference to residents’ wellbeing, whether through clinical support, reassurance, or simply being there for them. I also take great pride in supporting and developing our nursing and care teams. Helping colleagues grow, feel confident and work together to deliver exceptional care is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
I live locally to the home, just a five-minute drive in the morning when there’s no traffic. I have two amazing boys—well, three, including my husband! We don’t have any grandparents here to help with the children, so balancing personal life can be challenging as one of us is usually at work, but we always manage. I have two brothers: one lives and works in the UK, so we see him often, and he is the godfather of my little Theodor, who is three. My other brother works in the Navy and lives in Romania. My mum works in Italy, and my dad is retired and living in Romania.
My passions, interests and hobbies… I love reading, running, gardening, cooking, cleaning and going for walks with my family. In my spare time—which doesn’t really exist, as I’m addicted to work and find it hard to disconnect—I enjoy keeping busy and active,
After 15 years of working in a salon, a client who worked in the care home sector asked if I knew anyone who would like to work in a care home. After some thought, I said 'Yes, me!'. I like to make a difference and I feel the care home sector makes a massive difference. It is team-based and is a journey for staff, relatives and residents.
I love it when friends and relatives come in and see their loved ones looking fresh and happy.
Life is about family, making memories and remembering life is short. Outside of work, I love to spend time with my children and walking my dogs.
I have worked in care for a long period and joined Bupa in 2016, initially as a healthcare assistant and then more latterly as an activities coordinator.
I enjoy meeting people and really enjoy my current job role.
Outside of work, I have two adult children and six grandchildren.
I joined The Lindsay as a receptionist in the summer of 2023.
Earlier on in my career, I worked as a TV studio administrator producing motivational and corporate videos. After I had my children, I returned to work as a teaching assistant followed by temporary roles as a receptionist.
I particularly enjoy caring for people and making them feel as happy as I can. I enjoy the interaction with residents and their families as well as doing administrative work.
I live locally with my English Pointer dog and two cats. My daughter is local so I see a lot of her. My son lives near Southampton and also has a Pointer.
I love to see friends and family and I enjoy walking, gardening, holidays and the beach.
I have worked for Bupa since 2022, initially as a receptionist and more recently as a financial administrator.
Before joining Bupa, I was working in retail and the hotel industry, where I developed strong customer service skills, resilience and the ability to work well under pressure. Through these roles, I discovered that the most rewarding part of my work was supporting people and making a positive difference in their day. This led me to transition into the care sector, where I could apply my interpersonal skills in a more meaningful way, providing compassionate and person-centred support and building trusting relationships.
I enjoy working within care because it allows me to make a difference in people’s lives. Supporting individuals with compassion, dignity and respect and helping them maintain independence and quality of life is both meaningful and rewarding for me.
Outside of work, I am a parent, which is a whole other job on its own. I have two beautiful children aged 11 and 7, they keep me very busy most of the time so when I do get some time I enjoy being creative and exploring creative outlets such as art.
