My mum was very lucky, following a lengthy stay in hospital, to be able to move to Belmont House. The care and compassion shown to her in the last eight months of her life were outstanding. I saw her happy, engaged in activities, singing and smiling. The staff treated her as one of their own. I cannot
thank them enough for their support of Mum and the immediate family when she sadly passed away. This is an exceptional nursing home. Thank you to every member of staff involved in mum's care.

There seemed a lack of enthusiasm in respect of getting the residents involved in activities. Easier to leave them in bed.
Reply from Home Manager, Home Manager at Belmont House Nursing HomeWe pride ourselves on the resident experience and are sorry that on this occasion you found it has fallen short of the usual positive feedback we receive. We are committed to learning and improving from feedback, and we would be grateful if you could contact us at wecare@ariacare.co.uk so that we can learn more about your experience.

Excellent care was given by the very friendly staff. I can not fault anything with Belmont House. Unfortunately, my father is in end-of-life care but at least he is in the best place possible. I’m so glad we have got this in our area.

My mum came to Belmont House Nursing Home back in 2018 and we feel thoroughly blessed that we found this home. My mum recently passed away but can honestly say she received the best possible care. The staff are amazing, always happy to help, stop and chat, and fully supported my mum and her needs in
a dignified manner. The home was always clean and a pleasure to visit at any time of day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for looking after my mum so well and giving us peace of mind that she was in the best place. Thank you.

Mum was only at Belmont House Nursing Home for 6 months but we couldn't have chosen a better place for her to spend that time. Every single member of the staff cared for her with kindness and compassion. They got to know Mum's likes and dislikes, her humour and the consistency of her carers meant she
built up a rapport with each one and she was comfortable with them all. The palliative care at Belmont is exceptional, every detail is thought of to make the time less stressful and the manager went above and beyond to ensure we all felt loved and cared for during this time. We will miss everyone but never forget what an exceptional home it is.

My mother was a resident in your care home from the spring of 2022 until she passed away on 29/12/2023. She suffered from advanced Alzheimers. The care home staff (all staff from nurses, doctors, health care assistants, admin etc.) were extremely kind, sympathetic, empathetic, professional, friendly
and proficient. Their care made us as a family very pleased about the care our mum received. I am a qualified nurse (Director of Nursing). I was extremely happy with the professionalism of the nurses and all the staff.

The staff treat my mother as if she was their own mother/grandmother. They are caring and despite some of her outbursts due to her dementia, they treat her with respect and dignity. She has been there over a year now and despite her rocky start (constantly telling us she wanted to go home - not realising
this was now home) has settled in with the help of the staff. She has her hair done once a week in the in-house hairdressers and the activities coordinator ensures she has her nails filed and painted regularly - all things that she used to do before dementia took hold - this grounds her and is familiar. The staff know all the residents and regular relative visitors by name and we are always welcomed with open arms and offered a cup of tea to take with our loved ones when we visit no matter how busy they are. These little gestures make all the difference. Our family are extremely happy and secure in the knowledge that our mother is well looked after and in the loving, caring place.

Had an unusual injury (broken bone in my neck). The staff nurse soon learned to change my collar every other day, the specialist commented favourably on the state of my neck and this was due to the nurse washing and creaming my neck every time.

My friend has always lived in her own home, so like many, it was a big change. The staff, however, are fantastic and really get to know the residents, their likes, dislikes and she soon settled in. You get the feeling that with the staff it is not just a job, they really care and want to help the residents
feel at home. They are so attentive and caring. They also appear to work as a good team, which makes for a great atmosphere. The home, rooms, gardens are great. Full marks Belmont!

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.875)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.875) out of 10 for Belmont House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 35 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Belmont House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (362 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 408 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belmont House Nursing Home is based on 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 35 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

As a registered nurse with 10 years of experience in the care industry, my responsibilities include overseeing clinical care delivery, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and supporting both our residents and team in achieving the highest quality of care.

What brings me joy is the ability to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, no matter how small. Seeing residents achieve their goals, whether it’s regaining independence or simply finding moments of happiness, is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that our team plays a part in their journey is priceless and fuels my passion for this work every day.

To me, ‘Care from the Heart’ means providing care that goes beyond the technical aspects of the role. It’s about empathy, compassion, and truly understanding the needs of each individual. It’s treating residents as if they were family, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and happiness are always at the forefront of everything we do.

I believe my impact lies in fostering a culture of compassion and teamwork. By leading by example and supporting my colleagues, I aim to elevate the standard of care we provide. In the future, I would like to further develop initiatives that strengthen team collaboration, ensuring our home remains a place where everyone thrives.
