Since my friend of 50 years moved into Belmont House she has been the happiest I have seen since her diagnosis. All the staff are very attentive and kind they are so lovely to her. All her medical needs are dealt with and I am kept up to date. It is such a relief for me to know. I am impressed with
the importance the manager and staff put on safety, particularly Coronavirus. Although it can seem there are a lot of rules when visiting, it is better that they care about keeping residents and staff safe. Their attention to safety is to be applauded. The staff work well together and step in where needed. Even the manager will help out it is so good to see.

The experience from start to finish was great. My mum felt very at home, the care was great and she enjoyed the food. The team at Belmont House couldn't do enough to make her comfortable. My mum was the happiest I have seen her for the past couple of years in the short time she was at Belmont House
which gives me great comfort.

Sadly our mum died in May 2021 having been a permanent resident at Belmont House for three and a half years. She specifically chose to move there having spent two temporary spells there following surgery. This extract from her eulogy says it all. "As her mobility declined, our mum decided that it was
time to make a permanent move ... to Belmont House. She didn’t just go into a home – she made Belmont House her home – and the staff there made sure it was her home. She found a whole new group of friends in the manager and his brilliant team". My sister and I are so grateful to everyone at Belmont House for everything they did to support our mum, especially over the past very difficult 18 months. Their care in her final few weeks was outstanding and we will miss them all.

My mother has been a resident at Belmont House for 3 and a half years, during which time she has considered it home and the staff her extended family. She passed away last week and my review relates particularly to that. The last 3 weeks of her life were filled with care, love and compassion by the
whole team. I cannot praise the manager and his staff enough. They really went above and beyond to ensure she had the kind of death we all would love to have. Thank you all so much, we will miss you.

My mum was admitted to Belmont House in January 2021 in lockdown. This was a very difficult but necessary decision for her welfare and safety. All the staff at Belmont House made us feel very welcome and over the last 3 months, she is now happier, healthier, and more like she used to be. They have worked
with us both to achieve this, so pleased.

My mother spent four weeks at Belmont House and the whole experience, both prior to admission and during her stay was excellent. Everybody from the home (customer relations and the nursing staff) provided a very friendly, caring and efficient service. The only reason she didn't stay for a longer period
of time is that she is moving to a nursing home much closer to where I live.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Belmont House for anyone looking for a residential nursing home or for a period of respite care.

My mum has been at Belmont House since it opened in 2016 with some teething problems to start. We now have the best manager I believe the home could ever hope for with a great team that work so hard. My mum is so well cared for and she is treated with dignity and genuinely loved by all. Through Covid-19
we have been kept up to date with everything we need to know including regular updates on Mum's health and every week video calls which really help at this very difficult time.
The family would like to thank every member of staff for all you do.

I found the home and the palliative care my husband received for six weeks of a very high standard. The staff, professional, caring and kind, their aim to give comfort, dignity and privacy was at the forefront at all times. I felt at ease in between visiting that my husband felt comfortable, and all
his needs were met constantly. All the staff are outstanding human beings!

Mum was one of the first residents to enter the home 4 1/2 years ago. The initial settling in period was very difficult both for Mum and the family but once that passed we have nothing but praise for the Home especially during these difficult times the past year.
Mum's quality of care is excellent.
The effort made to keep in touch with us with video calls, phone calls etc is very much appreciated when/if the Home is on Lockdown. From articles in the news, Belmont House has been excellent at allowing restricted visits whenever government guidelines allow. This has made it so much more bearable for my family being able to see Mum and see that she is looking well.
Many thanks to all the staff from the cleaners to management for keeping everything running so smoothly this past year.
Best wishes from all the family.

I am in aware of the challenges they all face during these difficult Covid times this year. They are doing their very best to help residents and families continue to feel safely connected.

I found it so difficult finding suitable care for my wife. The staff at Belmont House are very kind and caring, and I am confident that she is now in the best place. She enjoys the food and the company of others, in pleasant clean and comfortable surroundings with activities and entertainment provided

My grandfather stayed here briefly, but despite it being a short time, we know that Belmont House provided him with the best nursing care possible. The manager was excellent in arranging the prompt private transfer for my grandfather to Belmont House. Once he arrived, all his anxiety and stress was
relieved by the comforting environment Belmont House provides. The staffing ratio is excellent and allows prompt attentive care to be achieved. We had an outstanding experience with Belmont House and cannot recommend it highly enough.
Thank you for the care you provided my grandfather.

I visit my mother most days and find her in good spirits. She is happy with the care she receives.
Occasionally, she may not have certain things to hand but overall, the standard of care is very good.
My mother has ample opportunity and encouragement to join in the varied activities plus prefer to
be quiet. We find Belmont House to be a very friendly and caring home.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.875)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.875) out of 10 for Belmont House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 35 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Belmont House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (362 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 408 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belmont House Nursing Home is based on 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 35 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

As a registered nurse with 10 years of experience in the care industry, my responsibilities include overseeing clinical care delivery, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and supporting both our residents and team in achieving the highest quality of care.

What brings me joy is the ability to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, no matter how small. Seeing residents achieve their goals, whether it’s regaining independence or simply finding moments of happiness, is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that our team plays a part in their journey is priceless and fuels my passion for this work every day.

To me, ‘Care from the Heart’ means providing care that goes beyond the technical aspects of the role. It’s about empathy, compassion, and truly understanding the needs of each individual. It’s treating residents as if they were family, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and happiness are always at the forefront of everything we do.

I believe my impact lies in fostering a culture of compassion and teamwork. By leading by example and supporting my colleagues, I aim to elevate the standard of care we provide. In the future, I would like to further develop initiatives that strengthen team collaboration, ensuring our home remains a place where everyone thrives.
