This home was recommended to me by a friend who had a sister here. The moment I walked through the door I liked the happy ambience that exists throughout the home. My mother, who is 97, comes in regularly for respite whilst we have a holiday. My mother enjoys her stays and likens it to a 5-star hotel!
She feels she is on holiday.

The staff in the care home are so good with my Mum. They are very caring towards her and know exactly what to do when she gets upset. She is very well looked after. She has a lovely room overlooking the garden and the food is excellent. There are plenty of activities throughout the day to keep her occupied.
I know that she is safe in their hands.

Dad is looked after very well by all the care home staff. They take time to say hello and check he is ok. He is always up and dressed when we arrive and sitting in the lounge with other residents. There are daily activities organised and Dad is encouraged to join in but if he doesnt want to, that fine
too. The facilities at the home are excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend Belmont House to others.

Belmont House have really turned my Mother in Law's life around. When she arrived she wouldn't get out of bed. Now we have to search for her! She loves all the fabulous activities put on (especially good) and chats so much more than before. Cannot thank the staff here enough. Well done.

There is always a friendly welcome upon arrival. Staff are caring and interested. My mother prefers to be quiet and read. Carers and activities coordinators check on her, chat to her and respect her wishes. She has been encouraged to join seated-fitness activity which she enjoys.

A fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff work well together and there is a 'can do' attitude. All areas of the home were spotlessly clean and the facilities available were extensive for residents and visitors alike. End of life care was absolutely first class and I had no concerns over
the suitability of this care home to provide whatever nursing care that was needed and my relative was regularly monitored and needs were assessed.

My sister has been here since opening and we have always been more than happy with all areas of the home. The staff are fantastic. I attended the Vegas event yesterday and it was excellent. Such a fun day! All the staff put so much into it, they honestly couldn’t have done more. Well done Belmont House

Belmont House looks impressive from outside, convenient parking, interior design superb, open, spacious, well lighted, bedroom views to gardens are superb and calming for the resident. My parent is on respite and towards permanent resident. Reception staff are friendly, inviting and cheerful. The manager's
approachable and contactable, makes time for a chat with residents, relatives and open door communications with staff to address any concerns. Care staff are dedicated, caring, friendly, professional and vocational. Dietary needs adjusted accordingly, menus are diverse and cater for all tastes, hospitality management - superb. Facilities and maintenance are amazing, timely, prompt handling requests, repairs and adjustments, cleanliness, impressive. Activities are fun, engaging, open to ideas, creating a warm environment and encouraging residents to participate and enjoy good company. Senior nurses are dedicated, diligent, efficient, assuring relatives the best care provided on daily basis and concerns addressed promptly. Overall, the atmosphere is relaxed, calm and staff liaise with management to create the environment crucial for the residents, ensuring up to date staff training and improvements. Monthly manager meetings for residents and relatives encourages all to feel they can contribute and create a family environment.

My Mother in Law has been a resident at Belmont House since April 2017. In that time we have seen the staff and management turn the place from poor to good rating, which is somewhat remarkable in my view. My Mother in Law wouldn't come out of her room at the beginning now however I have to go and find
her when I visit. She attends almost every activity. Activities particularly excellent.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.875)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.875) out of 10 for Belmont House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 35 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Belmont House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (362 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 408 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belmont House Nursing Home is based on 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 35 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

As a registered nurse with 10 years of experience in the care industry, my responsibilities include overseeing clinical care delivery, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and supporting both our residents and team in achieving the highest quality of care.

What brings me joy is the ability to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, no matter how small. Seeing residents achieve their goals, whether it’s regaining independence or simply finding moments of happiness, is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that our team plays a part in their journey is priceless and fuels my passion for this work every day.

To me, ‘Care from the Heart’ means providing care that goes beyond the technical aspects of the role. It’s about empathy, compassion, and truly understanding the needs of each individual. It’s treating residents as if they were family, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and happiness are always at the forefront of everything we do.

I believe my impact lies in fostering a culture of compassion and teamwork. By leading by example and supporting my colleagues, I aim to elevate the standard of care we provide. In the future, I would like to further develop initiatives that strengthen team collaboration, ensuring our home remains a place where everyone thrives.
