Our mum was sent to Highmarket House after coming out of hospital, she came to the home and unfortunately took a turn for the worst after 2 days. Mum passed away within a few days, but we all wanted to thank every single one of the staff for the compassion, support and caring people that they all are.
We are a large family and we were all allowed to stay with mum, both night and day.
The staff showed so much compassion, they were so gentle with her. They looked after the family by bringing refreshments on the trolley.


The nurse giving injections and meds to mum was so caring and gentle. There was also a gentleman who came in to say goodbye and sang “ you are my sunshine” it really was magical, she looked into his eyes and just listened. Thank you so much to every single one of you, even though it was only a few days we could not have got through what we went through without your support. We cannot express just how thankful we all are, We tell everyone what a wonderful place you have.

The first thing you notice when entering Highmarket House is the lovely welcoming atmosphere in the well-used reception/cafe area, residents and visitors can enjoy coffee and cake here!
The home is comfortable, with really nice rooms and all of the staff are so helpful and go to a lot of trouble to
include residents in all the many activities that are organised daily.
When a loved one is no longer able to manage in their own home, it’s nice to know they are being looked after by such caring people.

I couldn’t wish for a better place to look after my mother as she is receiving palliative care.
The team are extremely professional and compassionate whilst making sure Mum is comfortable and cared for.
As I live some distance away from the home they ensure in my absence Mum has everything she needs.
I would highly recommend Highmarket House to anyone who wishes for a family member to receive top-class care whilst giving you peace of mind.

I can highly recommend Highmarket House. My mother is 96 and has been a resident for over four years. She initially went to Highmarket for respite care ‘just for a bit of TLC’ as she could not cope at home on her own. She then needed residential care for a couple of years and now, as she is getting
older, needs nursing care. All of these aspects of care have been outstanding. Although she is 96, she is still active and enjoys participating in a number of the many activities on offer in the home, as well as often going out on organised trips. The care she receives is outstanding and she is very happy there. All of the management and staff, from the carers, nursing and activities staff to the admin team, housekeepers, chefs and maintenance staff are excellent. They understand my mother’s daily needs and fully meet them in a friendly and caring manner. She is happy and well cared for which gives us the family peace of mind knowing she is still flourishing in her environment and enjoying life.

Staff was helpful from the day we met him, focusing on my mother's needs and making sure all requests were carried out.
The nursing and care staff were lovely and very supportive through a difficult time.
I would definitely recommend this care home for anyone looking for elderly care.

My mother has dementia and it became impossible for her to continue to live at home safely even with support from her family and home care, reluctantly we decided the only option was for her to move into residential care. She moved into Highmarket House in March 2023, she has astonished me as to how
well she has settled into her new home, the staff are friendly and caring and have guided her into enjoying a much better quality of life, the wonderful range of activities and facilities they provide keep her engaged. She is happy and well cared for. Highmarket House is very welcoming to me and her visitors and it's great to be able to join in with her activities and have fun with her.

Everything about the home is very good. The carers are excellent and give a personal touch. If there are any concerns they are dealt with straight away. Right from reception through all the staff you are involved in what is going on.

This is a very professionally run care home with great facilities, and seems more like a good hotel than a care home!.
Staff are very professional, friendly and helpful.
Everyone knows their job, nothing is too much trouble.
The food is varied and of a high standard with menus like you would expect
in a good hotel.
There is a family atmosphere around this modern establishment which is all due to the quality of the staff and the surroundings.
I have no reservations in giving full marks to this home and it’s fine team

I was very anxious about coming into a care home since I am quite young for a resident. However, I was quickly put at ease and immediately realised all the carers, management, nurses, housekeepers and maintenance staff had a passion to look after their residents as best as possible! I could not fault
the home's inherent ethos of supporting the residents to undertake any activities that they wish to do, even to carry on studying which I do. The home encourages residents to be as independent as possible, which is something I have always liked.
The food is wonderful and the home's chefs are very accomplished. The facilities are fabulous as well.
I can honestly say, that to quote Mary Poppins, it is ''practically perfect'' in every way!

I had been caring for my mother for a number of years and in the past couple, Mum had been with me during the day, and at home at night, which was working very well. Sadly just before Christmas, it became apparent Mum was not safe at night anymore and my sister and I had to take the difficult decision
to find a safer environment for her to live. This was very hard, especially after experiencing bad homes with my grandmother. Highmarket House Care Home is like a home-from-home at a five-star hotel standard. From the start, everyone has been very friendly and helpful. Mum needed somewhere quite quickly, and this was managed so carefully from the start. Mum's care plan is reviewed with us to ensure her needs are met, not just physically but also mentally stimulating. Everyone is friendly, supportive and understanding of how emotional this is for the resident and family. I know Mum is safe and has the best care possible. Thank you Highmarket for looking after Mum.

You cannot get any better than this care home. The facilities, the attentive staff, the activities and location.
My Mum loves being there and we love visiting her.
The building is big, modern and bright. It has little sitting rooms on all floors and small kitchen dining rooms too.
The admin, management
and carers are very professional and really care about the residents.

My father who has dementia and was living at home with the help of carers suffered a burst pipe which flooded his home during the cold spell in December, this was on a Saturday morning. I rang around all good rated care homes, Highmarket House were the only one willing to accept my father on a Saturday,
even calling in staff from home to do the paperwork. My father was treated with kindness and respect from the very start, he stayed for four weeks of respite and has now become a permanent resident. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, everyone from the receptionist to the carers are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The care my father is receiving is second to none and we are always made to feel welcome when we visit. My father particularly enjoys the activities and socialising with the carers and other residents and really enjoys mealtimes and being able to choose from the menu. My father has now settled in well and he is being looked after by the very caring staff.

My sister went into Highmarket for respite l found it very emotional putting her there as I was worried she wouldn't settle. The first couple of days she kept asking to go home and wanted to know if her mother knew she was there (our mother died 17 years ago, which is all down to her dementia). The
staff were all wonderful with her and she has really settled down there and is really happy there and I believe it is all down to the staff that are looking after her. Since she has been there she has put on weight which is all down to the good food and looks healthier.
I can't fault Highmarket and would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of putting their parents/siblings in there. I have always been welcomed there when I visited.

My mother became a resident of Highmarket in June after a decline in her health meant she could no longer remain at home. She was warmly welcomed by all at the home and cared for with respect and great understanding by the staff. When visiting we were always made welcome, and the staff would advise
of any concerns that they may have. Unfortunately, she passed away early in September, the staff were very compassionate and helped us deal with the necessary arrangement. I cannot praise the staff at Highmarket enough and would willingly recommend the home.

The piano in the communal sitting area has not been regularly tuned to the piano is very out of tune. A piano tuner is required twice a year to tune the piano. The radio in the sitting room does not work and is for appearance only.

My mother was in Highmarket House for ten days respite. She was initially very apprehensive about going, but soon settled in. My mother was treated with the upmost kindness and care and will be going there again next month for further respite care whilst I go on holiday. I know that she will be well

My brother came to High Market House on December 22nd 2021 for respite. He is still there 1st February 2022. For the first time in 25 years, my brother has been treated with respect compassion and all due to the wonderful team that have supported him for the past 2 months. I thank you all on behalf

As a Home Manager, I am constantly striving to make the home a better place. At Highmarket House we’re very passionate about supporting residents to live well, whether that’s delivering tailored activities, award-winning food or providing residents living with dementia namaste care, every department pulls together to support residents’ health and well-being.


Having a leadership role is a privilege, making the residents’ and teams' day is important to me. I worked for Care UK for 5 years, Care UK is an excellent care provider to work for, it’s a growing organisation focused on the delivery of quality care.


Knowing I’m making a positive impact on residents' lives is what motivates me. I’m very proud of the way the team delivers exceptional care to residents and their loved ones. It’s one big family at


Highmarket House and that’s what makes it a very special home. I’ve worked in the care sector since 2008 when I was 18 years old. I’ve worked my way up doing different roles, including Team Leader, Trainer and Unit Manager. I joined Care UK in 2018 because I’d heard good things about the organisation, and I’m very proud to be the Home Manager at Highmarket House.


I have a passion for what I do, and I’ve done it for a long time, and I’m always looking to make a difference to the people we care for. Everyone who works at Highmarket House takes a ‘whole home’ approach to caring for residents. Away from work, I like to spend time with my family. I like listening to music, watching TV and going to a good shop!
