Mum seems to have settled or we are now certain we did the right thing by placing her at Highmarket. Staff always seem to be happy and always able to answer any questions we have.

The staff are very nice but there are not enough staff. The food could be better! For the money that is paid, it should be better food! They should be taken out once in a while to get fresh air, it's very important! More activities to suit the men as well!

A welcoming care home run in a very professional and caring manner. There are some minor teething problems from this one year home, but overall it is a friendly and efficient home. Attention is required to the organisation and timing of activities as this is a bit ad-hoc at the moment. It would be beneficial for those residents with a specific need to have a telephone facility available in individual rooms (chargeable as required).

I am delighted that Highmarket could accommodate my mother. I have two other care homes to gauge their performance by and this care home leaves the others in the shade. Third time lucky.

She is getting everything she needs and to see her so content means I worry less. I cannot praise the staff enough, a truly caring and pleasant team who she is very happy with.

My brother was originally admitted to Highmarket House for a period of respite care. The staff have been most helpful in managing the transition period between home life and living in a care home environment.
My brother now needs full 24/7 care management and the staff have been wonderful in communication with social services/social worker/finance department in the next step for full-time residential care. We could not have managed without their advice and assistance.

Thank you Highmarket House.

Very impressed with all the staff and the high standard of care. We moved Mum from another care home in the middle of July and she settled in quickly, with all the staff making her feel really welcome. Unfortunately, Mum was taken ill, but this was picked up quickly and we were able to get her to the hospital for tests etc, and she was back the next day. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk through the front door.

Dad has been cared for with dignity, respect and laughter, we are all so grateful for all the staff at Highmarket House. The standard of care is second to none, the activities, the food, the surroundings, the outings, we could not have asked for a better place for Dad to have his last few months.

I would like to mention that all the staff from the managers to the domestic staff not only cared for Dad but also cared for Mum and I which helped us through a very difficult time at the end. Knowing we could go home at the end of the day that he would be treated so well made the situation a little easier. Thank you all for all you did.

My father became a resident in August and is very happy with all that is on offer to him at High Market House. Following a fall fracturing his hip in March, mobility became difficult and my father was looking for a care home that could provide ground floor accommodation and space within the home to facilitate ease of movement. He was fortunate to obtain such a room with full-length patio door opening onto his own garden area with table and chairs. Within the room, there is a large en-suite bathroom with wet room shower. The modern, bright decor adds to an uplifting ambience.
The care staff are very proficient, caring and nothing is too much trouble. The home is very proactive in providing stimulation through activities and entertainment for the residents and have made links with local businesses to further help residents.

Whilst my father has only been in Highmarket for a short time, he is very happy, well cared for and Highmarket House can be highly recommended.

The care that my husband received whilst in Highmarket House was second to none. He was welcomed as a new resident and felt at home immediately. Staff are always on hand whenever necessary and were of a friendly and happy disposition. The dining room provided fine dining food as the catering was excellent and the choices varied. I never had any cause to criticize the cleanliness of the facilities and the care I received at the end was first class. I highly recommend Highmarket House and have persuaded prospective residents and families to visit on my recommendation.

This is the first care home I have ever visited and I was very impressed. Polite and helpful staff. Calm atmosphere and everything possible provided for the residents. I come away assured that my sister was in the best possible place. Thank you all. Also, the interior designers who worked on all the decor deserve a medal. Wonderful.

After looking at many homes I can wholeheartedly recommend Highmarket House. From the spotless, airy and well-equipped rooms to the first rate communal facilities it really stood out, especially after looking at a few homes back to back. Every member of staff genuinely appears to enjoy their jobs with the feeling that it is the residents who are the priority which is exactly as it should be. Knowing that someone isn't just being watched but that they are cared for is what this home is about. And a special thanks to the excellent member of staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.

After making the hard decision that my mother needed more care that any family member could give, we were accepted for a place at Highmarket House. Following a few fretful days prior to her becoming a resident, mum's transition to full-time care has been amazing.
She is being looked after and loved like she were a family member, she is being mentally stimulated and exercised daily and I believe her quality of life has increased tenfold.
The staff here not only look after my mum but my dad too! He visits daily and is always welcomed with a coffee and a smile every time - he also participates in the activities, so he can still be involved in his wife’s day to day life.

It was a very hard decision to make, but knowing my mum is being looked after the way she is, we know that it was the right decision to make and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Highmarket House to anyone looking at placing a family member in their care.

I could not have asked for a better home for my grandmother! She has only been at Highmarket House for a little over a month but she has lived a more fulfilled life in the last month than she has in the last few years. She is happy, settled, well cared for and engaged. She has baked cakes, been for walks in the park most days, been dancing and also fitted in a visit to her favourite animals at the local bird sanctuary. The staff are really caring and make sure the activities are varied and even tailor them to the interests of the residents. The home itself is beautiful and welcoming, there is always a cup of tea and a piece of cake on offer and it is a pleasure to visit my grandmother and spend time with her. The home and the staff have become an extension of my family in such a short amount of time - the world would be a better place if more care homes were like this one! Who said getting old and living with Alzheimer's had to be boring, not Highmarket House, that's for sure!

As a Home Manager, I am constantly striving to make the home a better place. At Highmarket House we’re very passionate about supporting residents to live well, whether that’s delivering tailored activities, award-winning food or providing residents living with dementia namaste care, every department pulls together to support residents’ health and well-being.

Having a leadership role is a privilege, making the residents’ and teams' day is important to me. I worked for Care UK for 5 years, Care UK is an excellent care provider to work for, it’s a growing organisation focused on the delivery of quality care.

Knowing I’m making a positive impact on residents' lives is what motivates me. I’m very proud of the way the team delivers exceptional care to residents and their loved ones. It’s one big family at

Highmarket House and that’s what makes it a very special home. I’ve worked in the care sector since 2008 when I was 18 years old. I’ve worked my way up doing different roles, including Team Leader, Trainer and Unit Manager. I joined Care UK in 2018 because I’d heard good things about the organisation, and I’m very proud to be the Home Manager at Highmarket House.

I have a passion for what I do, and I’ve done it for a long time, and I’m always looking to make a difference to the people we care for. Everyone who works at Highmarket House takes a ‘whole home’ approach to caring for residents. Away from work, I like to spend time with my family. I like listening to music, watching TV and going to a good shop!
