After looking at many homes it was such a relief to find Oulton Manor! The staff really care, they are approachable and want to get things right for my dad. There are activities morning and afternoon and it is great to see that residents are not just left sitting in front of the television in communal areas, as was the case in other homes!

Plenty of caring staff, who looked after Dad so well. Dad was poorly a couple of times and they were quick to notify the doctor and get him treated very quickly. I cannot recommend this care home enough and would not hesitate to place Dad here again in the future.

Although my Mum was only in Oulton Manor (Chestos) for what turned out to be a short period of time the care, empathy and compassion of all the staff was truly amazing, nothing was too much trouble. We as a family will never forget our experience here. Mom called it "her house" and was so happy there. Well done everyone on "Chestos".

The care my Grandmother received at Oulton Manor was beyond exceptional. The staff have been the most caring, supportive, and compassionate people to my Grandmother and her family in such a difficult time. I've always worried about leaving a family member in the hands of someone else to care for but I never had a single worry when she was here. I didn't know a care home like this existed, this home should be proud of everything they do.

Our Mother has had poor health for 9 months. We had to make the difficult decision to put her into the care system, which was a scary thought. 9 weeks at Oulton Manor has been the best experience for our Mum. We are eternally grateful for all the care, dignity, and respect shown not only to her but to her family. Thank you so much!

The care, compassion, and support given to Nan during her time at Oulton Manor have been outstanding. Nan had an amazing time and had lots of fun. Maintained as much independence as she could during her time. On her final journey, the staff were so caring and treated her like family. I would not hesitate to recommend Oulton Manor to anyone. Thank you for your care and support.

My late sister resided at Oulton Manor care home prior to her passing. We were comforted by the amazing care and genuine affection shown by all staff both to my sister and us her family. The residence itself is thoughtfully designed and decorated to a very high standard and all facilities were brilliant. Add to this the varied and frequent activities provided for residents and this care home is in my opinion fully worth all stars. Thank you to all at Oulton Manor who supported my sister so well whilst she was there.

Oulton Manor is an exceptional setting. The environment is beautiful and immaculately clean. The quality of care is outstanding. All of the staff seem to genuinely care about the residents and go above and beyond to support. This includes dressing, hair and makeup for my mum to attend a party and taking time after a shift to sort out my dad's IT disasters. The enrichment programme is amazing with the entertainment manager constantly coming up with lovely ideas for activities and themed events to bring a 'normality' e.g. bonfire night, Christmas, Valentine's etc. The management team are 100% behind residents and supportive of the whole family.

My dad was in Oulton Manor from November 2022 until he recently passed away. The care he received from day one until his last day was second to none. Throughout his time on his floor, he was so well cared for and helped to settle in at the beginning and then at the end he was looked after with such love, support and dignity. I was also supported throughout.

I'll never forget all the staff there, so kind, helpful, thoughtful, whilst being professional every day.

From our initial visit when we were enquiring about facilities and availability, the staff could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and the time that was spent showing us around, answering our queries and reassuring us about this next step in our mother's care was truly noteworthy.

Since our mum took up residency, she has really blossomed. She is eating well (loves the food), is putting on much-needed weight, has great relationships with the staff and is gradually returning to her former self as an outgoing, funny, intelligent and interesting woman. I can't thank your team enough for enabling this transformation.

What a fantastic, homely place, with kind, caring, lovely staff. I cannot fault anything.
The massive improvement I have seen in my mum since being here is lovely to see. She loves the food and has now regained her lost appetite.
Certainly, know where I want to go when the time comes.

Special mention to one gentleman.

I visited my friend in the Oulton Manor Care Home. I have known her for many years, and I came to support her and pray for her. The home itself is beautiful, and I'm very confident that she is being looked after properly. It is very hard to see my beautiful, dear friend deteriorating, but I am happy that she is being cared for. Thank you so much.

Excellent home from start to finish. One member of staff came to our home to assess Mum, he was very professional and took in all her needs so that when she came to Oulton Manor she had everything waiting for her when she arrived. The home is lovely, all the staff can't do enough for her and are very welcome when you visit. I am pleased to say it is a lovely place for her to live in.

Lisa Owens
Lisa OwensJob Title:ManagerJoined: 2022

Hi, my name is Lisa and I have worked for Anchor for 15 years but have worked in the health and social care sector for 25 years.

Before becoming the manager at Oulton Manor in December 2022, I worked at Millfield care home in Manchester. During the 14 years I was there, I progressed from team leader to home manager and lead the home successfully for 4 years.

I am very passionate about elderly care and believe everybody deserves quality living. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time hiking, wild swimming and travelling.

I am really looking forward to steering our home forward to achieve its best potential and delivering excellent care to all those who choose to live at Oulton Manor.

Sheridan Beckett
Sheridan BeckettJob Title:Home AdministratorJoined: 2018

I have been an administrator in the care industry for over ten years and have 25 years experience in total in the sector. Oulton Manor is like my second family, I have worked here since September 2018. I am extremely passionate about supporting people living in a residential setting and have a personal interest in Dementia and Alzheimer’s care due to my own family member’s diagnosis. When I am not working I love going on long walks, I enjoy reading and when I really want to let my hair down I love a good dance and sing-song!

Nicola Wood
Nicola WoodJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2018

I have worked at Oulton Manor since June 2018. In November 2024 I was appointed as a Deputy Manager working alongside the Home Manager to ensure safe, well-led, effective and responsive care and compliance throughout the home. Caring is a vocation for me and cannot imagine doing anything else. When I am not at work I love spending time with my family; I have two granddaughters whom I adore. To relax I enjoy shopping and holidays abroad.

Susie Dodd
Susie DoddJob Title:Activities CoordinatorJoined: 2025

Hello I’m Susie, I joined Oulton Manor in January 2025. I am trained in complementary therapies and have had my own business for several years. I’ve always connected really well with the older generation and am passionate about people living well. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my son and husband; we are a very musical family and go to lots of gigs together.

Mark Anderson
Mark AndersonJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2025

I have seven years of experience in elderly care, with the last three to four years spent in home management. Before joining Oulton Manor, I worked as an Interim Home Manager for Bond Care Group, where I supported several homes with quality improvement projects and the rollout of digital care systems. I’ve worked with teams that achieved Outstanding CQC ratings, and one of my proudest achievements was earning a palliative care accreditation.

My key areas of expertise include person-centred care planning, positive outcome management, and medicines management.

In early 2025, I spent six months travelling around Southeast Asia. Outside of work, fitness is a big part of my life—I enjoy going to the gym, running most days, hiking, and walking. I also love going out for nice meals and catching up with family and friends whenever I can.

Emma Franklin
Emma FranklinJob Title:Principal Team Leader & Dementia Coach

I am the Principal Team Leader working on Chester's and Oulton Manor’s Dementia Coach. Holding this position means I am responsible for leading on and influencing quality dementia care within the home, as well as giving up-to-date training for staff.

I have worked across Anchor homes as a Team Leader since 2022, with a focus on supporting people living with varying stages of Dementia; and have found my passion to be supporting and improving the lives of people living with Dementia. I find my degree in Biomedical Science and a short stint as a GP assistant have enabled me to advocate for my residents to have a better quality of life, both medically and holistically.

I am passionate about improving the lived experience of those living with dementia and creating a warm and joy-filled environment with varied activities. I enjoy supporting carers to upskill themselves and improve their knowledge around Dementia care; and I find it really rewarding to find ‘out-of-the-box’ ways to support my residents in a way that honours the life they led, and keeps them living full and joyful lives for longer.
