My mum is very happy and well looked after. The staff are all very kind, caring and helpful. The most important thing is to know your mum is safe and treated well by others when you are not around. My mum has dementia, so cannot always communicate how she feels, but the staff know her well and how to
support her. This is the most important thing. The facilities, service, rooms and cleanliness are excellent.

Whenever I visit all of the staff are friendly and happy. The manager is lovely, always calm and friendly. Everywhere is bright and clean. So many areas to go to, and residents don't have to stay in their rooms. There are also lots of activities for residents to take part in. My friend says she is very
happy at Cuffley Manor and so well looked after.

My wife has been a resident at Cuffley Manor since August 2023. She has early onset Alzheimer's and so is young in comparison to the other residents. This could pose a challenge for the home and staff but they have cared for her superbly considering the unique circumstance. They ensure that she is included
in all the activities and encourage her when she is resistant. One of the features of Cuffley Manor is how well all the staff get to know the residents even if they don't work directly with them. There always appear to be different activities and celebrations depending on the time of year and regular trips are organised. Although my wife's condition means she has better days than others overall she is happy and well cared for. She is a vegetarian and again the home has accommodated this and she has a variety of meals across the week. I believe my wife is treated with respect and dignity no matter what behaviours she may present day by day. Overall this a wonderful care home.

I was apprehensive about having to put my father in a care home due to his progressive Alzheimer's condition. All the staff at Cuffley Manor have been very welcoming and friendly, whenever we visit. The staff who have come into contact with my father are very respectful and helpful, and he always smiles
when he comes into contact with staff members. My dad feels he's in a hotel rather than a care home. I would recommend Cuffley Manor to all your elderly loved ones. They will be in good hands.

The whole team work tirelessly to make Cuffley Manor a home with so many services and care, it isn't recognisable as a care home, more like a hotel. All the staff know Mum, care for her, always smiling and the whole ethos is to continuously improve. We are so lucky to have Mum cared for here. She is
well looked after, always impeccably dressed and the food is 5*.

Mum is currently staying at Cuffley Manor for 1 month of respite care. The staff have been amazing helping Mum to settle in well and cannot do enough for her.
A special mention to the manager at Cuffley Manor who has been so supportive to us as a family and assisting with Mum coming to stay so smoothly.
Mum is very happy, calm and settled here. We couldn't ask for anything more.

My aunt came in quicly just after Christmas and she wasn't keen on being here. Her confidence was low at the time and was upset at leaving her home. Within a couple of weeks she has quickly accepted where she is and her anxiety has eased. She is interacting with people, interested in what's going on
and has gone on her first outing to a club. She is happy and so are we. We're sure she will use the excellent facilities here and enjoy her time here.

Upon my first visit, I was struck by the warm welcome of the staff and them also knowing exactly where to find my friend. Offers for refreshments on all occasions have been welcome.
My friend feels cared for, and this is evident with every member of staff I have come across. She is just settling in,
but with confidence, there is much she can enjoy along with others in time. The decor, pictures, books and many other items are there to motivate residents, and their rooms are amazing and made personal for them.
I could write a book! So very, very good!

This place is like a palace! It is more like being at a hotel rather than a care home. The place is clean and the carers are lovely. The garden is beautiful and so peaceful. I cannot fault it! The security is amazing, I know my grandmother is safe but she has the freedom to wander.

Alex

Alex Borobeica

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

We’re delighted to welcome Alexandra (Alex) Borobeica as the new Home Manager at Cuffley Manor Care Home.


Alex brings with her a wealth of experience across the health and social care sector. Her career has taken her across Europe, supporting vulnerable adults in Germany, Austria, Italy and Portugal, before making England her home in 2014.


Having grown from Health Care Assistant to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager, Alex is deeply committed to compassionate, person-centred care and positive, values-led leadership. She holds a Level 5 Diploma and a BSc in Health and Social Care and is currently studying for a Master’s in International Business Management.


Alex’s leadership is grounded in kindness, empathy and inclusion. Her favourite quote by Eleanor Roosevelt says it all: “To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.”


Alex’s aspiration is creating a place of safety, dignity and care – a true home for our residents.

Job Title: Care Services manager (CSM) Joined: 2021

Prior to moving to the UK, I was a Registered Nurse (RN) working as a staff nurse for three years in an Emergency Care Unit, in New Delhi, India.


I came to the UK in 2008, initially to study for an NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care, as part of understanding both the social and medical care provided in the UK.


I was fortunate to be able to work for Care Homes, initially as a Senior Care Assistant. As I developed my skills, knowledge, and exposure to the care home environment, I was promoted to Team Leader, then an opportunity became available to become an Assistant Manager in 2016.


I joined the TLC group as a Care Service Manager at Cuffley Manor in May 2021 and I am loving the family atmosphere here. I am very passionate about care and people, and I strive to ensure that our residents are receiving outstanding person-centred care in a safe homely environment.

Ann Atienza

Job Title: Hotel Services Manager Joined: 2025

Ann has worked for many years in the hotel industry, working for a number of reputable global hotel companies such as Hilton, Marriot and Shangri-La. In recent years, Ann has found herself in the States working for hotels in California.


Academically speaking, Ann is a distinguished member of our team achieving a BSc in 'Hotel Restaurant Management' - something that she uses every day in her role at Cuffley Manor. In 2025, Ann took a big leap of faith when she moved back across the Atlantic to join the TLC Group as Hotel Services Manager in Cuffley Manor and has since settled into the UK.


Ann, is excited, driven and passionate about making residents and families feel heard and she is always looking to improve the vistor, dining and resident's experience of all those who come into Cuffley Manor.

Andre Williams

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2024

My journey as a Chef began in 2005 when I started working as a Chef Assistant in a care home.


I gradually learnt my trade as the years went on and have also worked in numerous places, including restaurants and hospitals.


I started working with TLC in January 2024 as a chef, and in March 2024, I became the head chef at Cuffley Manor.


I am good at conveying my feelings through my food. To find happiness in cooking is an art, and that gives me the passion and encouragement to inspire other people to become the best at their craft they can be.

Millie Solley

Job Title: Practice Development Lead Joined: 2017

I have worked in the care sector for over 40 years having started work as an activities coordinator in my home country of Scotland. I then started my career as a care assistant and senior carer in hospitals and care homes.


I took a career break when I had my twins and studied for the Higher Social Care Programme in Edinburgh as a mature student. It was here I was diagnosed with Dyslexia and took part in a programme for those over 40 in education. Ten years ago, I moved to England as a team leader and progressed to Care Services Manager and then home manager.


I joined TLC Care in 2017 as Regional Support Manager before progressing to Learning and Development Coach, and now, I am in a role I have a great passion for at Cuffley Manor.

Joanna Gracyzk

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping Joined: 2016

I joined Cuffley Manor in June 2016 when it first opened, with new residents joining. I was able to offer care and housekeeping. This was so important for me to learn and understand, and today I can say I am very proud of my home, as this gives me so much joy and satisfaction seeing our family grow at Cuffley Manor.


Seeing residents’ smiles, taking time to sit and talk with them, sometimes, little things are like milestones, seemingly insignificant, but with a huge impact. That’s what working at Cuffley Manor is for me.


In my spare time, I like reading fantasy books, travelling and spending time with my family. I like to learn new skills and always carry a beautiful smile.

Akshay Sanjai

Akshay Sanjai Edathottiyil

Job Title: Business Support Manager Joined: 2023

I came to the UK to pursue my master's. I started working for TLC as a part-time care assistant in 2021. Though I had never worked in the field of care before, my experience at TLC has piqued my curiosity in it. I was formerly employed in Cherry Hinton, but due to commuting issues, I was transferred to Cuffley Manor. I grew close to the Cuffley people, and I eagerly anticipated working alongside my colleagues each day.
My academics required me to participate in an internship program. I received an offer from TLC to work as an administrator and financial assistant for a year at the Carlton Court Care Home. I was given fresh opportunities for learning and growth while I was at Carlton. I would say that Carlton changed the course of my financial career. I was now offered the amazing chance to return to Cuffley Manor in the capacity of Manager of Finance and HR.
