My mother who has dementia has recently moved into Cuffley Manor. From the first contact to her assessment whilst she was in hospital, through to the care she has received I cannot speak highly enough of Cuffley Manor. The staff are polite, kind, and helpful, the leadership team are excellent, and my
mother has settled in; this is now her home. The care that is provided is excellent, the facilities are exceptional, and the design and layout of the home provide a safe, welcoming and caring environment. She has participated in lots of activities but retains her independence and dignity. My family and I are welcomed when we visit, and it feels like a space where we feel at home as well. The multiple small lounges on each floor allow us to have our own privacy, as well as mix with others in the cafe; the gardens are beautiful (very important to Mum). I would not hesitate to recommend Cuffley Manor and cannot speak highly enough of the care (my wife and I are both consultant physicians).

My mother stayed at Cuffley Manor for about 9 weeks as respite following an operation. From my experience during regular visits to Mum, the aspects that reassured me the most were the friendliness, quality care and support from all of the team at Cuffley Manor, led by the amazing management team. This
combined with the beautiful location, light, spacious and super clean and tidy rooms, excellent weekly social activities and warm atmosphere gave me the reassurance that Mum was receiving the support she needed to aid her recovery.
My only criticism would be the lack of quality food for Mum as a vegetarian. I would often have to bring in extra meals e.g. fresh, leafy salads, protein Quorn/ soya and yoghurts to supplement her nutrition.
Reply from Sharifa Hussain, Business Development Manager at Cuffley ManorThank you for your lovely review Lucy and I have to say we do miss your mum a lot here at Cuffley Manor! It was an absolute pleasure to look after her whilst she was recovering.
Thank you for your feedback about the vegetarian food options, this has been fed back to the hotel services manager and our head chef to look into improving the options and quality of our vegetarian meals.
Looking forward to hopefully seeing you and Mum soon!

a lovely place. It's as good as a 5* hotel. Thank you.

We always found Cuffley Manor to be very warm and inviting. The staff always did a wonderful job of having time for both residents and family. good food and comfortable living conditions.

My mum is a new resident of the home, but so far, we are mighty impressed. Our initial engagement with management, the reception we received and the comprehensive tour of the facilities were all first-class. So, by the way, the home itself is more aligned with what you would expect in a 4/5 star hotel
than a care home. Our family have all commented on how lovely the staff are - this is all of them, by the way. My mum has settled in so quickly; she is eating well again and quickly made friends. Mum is quite fussy and doesn't hold back telling you she doesn't like something; thus far, she is very comfortable and hasn't mentioned a complaint!
Reply from Sharifa Hussain, Business Development Manager at Cuffley ManorThank you so much for your amazing review, Steve. It was our pleasure to meet you and your family, show you around and support you as a family. It is also an honour to have your Mum staying with us; we are happy that Mum has settled so quickly, eating well and making friends and that we were able to deliver the standard of outstanding care that she deserves. Thank you once again.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.907)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.907) out of 10 for Cuffley Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 55 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 54 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.907 for Cuffley Manor is calculated as follows: ( (592 Excellents x 5) + (48 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 646 Ratings = 4.907
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cuffley Manor is based on 54 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 54 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Business Support Manager Joined: 2023

I came to the UK to pursue my master's. I started working for TLC as a part-time care assistant in 2021. Though I had never worked in the field of care before, my experience at TLC has piqued my curiosity in it. I was formerly employed in Cherry Hinton, but due to commuting issues, I was transferred to Cuffley Manor. I grew close to the Cuffley people, and I eagerly anticipated working alongside my colleagues each day.
My academics required me to participate in an internship program. I received an offer from TLC to work as an administrator and financial assistant for a year at the Carlton Court Care Home. I was given fresh opportunities for learning and growth while I was at Carlton. I would say that Carlton changed the course of my financial career. I was now offered the amazing chance to return to Cuffley Manor in the capacity of Manager of Finance and HR.

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping Joined: 2016

I joined Cuffley Manor in June 2016 when it first opened, with new residents joining. I was able to offer care and housekeeping. This was so important for me to learn and understand, and today I can say I am very proud of my home, as this gives me so much joy and satisfaction seeing our family grow at Cuffley Manor.

Seeing residents’ smiles, taking time to sit and talk with them, sometimes, little things are like milestones, seemingly insignificant, but with a huge impact. That’s what working at Cuffley Manor is for me.

In my spare time, I like reading fantasy books, travelling and spending time with my family. I like to learn new skills and always carry a beautiful smile.

Job Title: Wellbeing Lead Joined: 2025

From an early age, I developed a deep commitment to supporting wellbeing and mental health, always taking pride in helping those around me feel valued and uplifted.

During my Honours degree in Psychology, I became increasingly aware of the profound connection between physical health and mental well-being. This insight inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Health Psychology at UCL, where I specialised in understanding and promoting positive behaviour change. My academic training has equipped me with strong, evidence-based skills in therapeutic communication, holistic assessment, and person-centred care.

Alongside my studies, I gained valuable experience working within the NHS, supporting diverse patient groups and developing key competencies in safeguarding, multidisciplinary teamwork, and delivering high-quality, compassionate care. Combined with a personal enthusiasm for organising meaningful activities and creating joyful, purposeful environments, these experiences naturally guided me to my role at Cuffley Manor.

Here, I am dedicated to delivering exceptional wellbeing support—honouring every resident with the same respect, warmth, and dignity I would offer my own family, and ensuring that each day holds moments of connection, laughter, and quality care.
