The staff at Cuffley Manor Care Home are all so kind and caring. My mother is extremely well looked after. There is a lot of imagination shown with all the different activities to encourage physical and mental well-being.

I am very happy with our experience at Cuffley Manor Care Home. The staff are very attentive. One member of staff, particularly, is a wonderful carer and interactor with my mother. The only suggestion I have is to keep a close eye on her diet and sugary, acid intake and make sure she has her skin well
moisturised. Otherwise, I am so happy with my mum at Cuffley manor.

I visited Cuffley Manor as I am currently researching suitable care homes for my mother. I was given a comprehensive tour of the home and was very impressed by the facilities and the staff I met. The décor is of a high standard and all parts of the building are contemporary with a lot of natural light.
The bedrooms are spacious and well furnished. The home has several lounges, everywhere was very clean and the garden well maintained. It has an appearance more in keeping with that of a hotel than the traditional image of a care home. I met several staff, who hold a variety of roles within the home, and found everyone very friendly and professional. There also seemed to be an excellent rapport between residents and staff. My mother and I were impressed by the extensive and varied menu and by the wide choice of activities available to residents.
I would certainly recommend that anyone considering a care home visit Cuffley Manor.

My experiences are generally good. However, it is difficult to be completely objective during a period when the home has been subject to many Covid restrictions.
Recently there have been a number of management changes on top of the pressure to keep caring staff during the current nationwide shortage.
This has resulted in a negative impact on residents' wellbeing (from the feedback I receive from my relation).
Having said that, the caring staff provide good care and support. As one of the most important aspects of the service provision, this should be recognised.
The management team are polite and visibly active. Based on the quality and content of the relative communication emails, it is clear there is a severe lack of 'attention to detail' with evidence of repeating errors, typos and inappropriate use of personal data. This usually is an indicator of failures in governance and internal processes resulting from poor leadership, management organisation and control.
In summary, accepting the unprecedented situation over the last two years, the general level of care provided is good. Following the recent changes, leadership and management support needs to improve significantly.

We would like to thank your care home manager and her staff for making our trip to the UK to see my brother, both a joy and a great success. She went out of her way to take care of all the details of our visit and is a credit to your home.
We had been worried about the Covid restrictions but she assured
us there would be no reason at all why we would not be able to see my brother. Your staff even carried out our first lateral flow tests right there in the home during our first visit, as well as providing us with a precise training session. They even gave us test kits so we were able to take the test every morning before coming to the home.
As to seeing Cuffley Manor Care Home for the first time, my two daughters (one a physician) and I were most impressed with all aspects of the facility. We found it spotless, beautifully appointed and most importantly, all of the staff we met were both kind and professional. Not only that but they clearly knew my brother well and treated him more like a friend than a patient.

My mother had a two-week respite stay at Cuffley Manor Care Home. She needed some tender loving care without responsibility for her house and the need to prepare her own meals.
I needed a break away for a few days without worry.
Her visit was successful on both counts. Mum says the staff couldn’t
have been better and the food delicious. She went from eating very little, needing encouragement to even have a yoghurt or cracker for tea, to eating three good size meals each day.
Although the plan is for her to try in her own home again, she may well be back!

On entering the home through a controlled entry point, I was met with four members of staff, each one acknowledged me with a cheerful smile or wave. I was greeted by the receptionist in the friendliest of manners who made me feel immediately welcome. All other staff were much the same.
The home itself
is something I would never have imagined. It was everything and more that I would want for any of my elderly relatives and one I would more than happily live in when the time comes.
I immediately spotted the beautiful hair salon which looked like something out of a magazine. I also noticed the beauty treatment room which was as tranquil as any other I have seen....but, the cinema was just amazing! And even had an old fashioned popcorn stand.
I can't do the rest of the home justice but nothing disappointed. The residents seemed very cared for and very happy. The many photos I have seen are examples of what I saw in person. Outstanding.

Alex Borobeica

We’re delighted to welcome Alexandra (Alex) Borobeica as the new Home Manager at Cuffley Manor Care Home.


Alex brings with her a wealth of experience across the health and social care sector. Her career has taken her across Europe, supporting vulnerable adults in Germany, Austria, Italy and Portugal, before making England her home in 2014.


Having grown from Health Care Assistant to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager, Alex is deeply committed to compassionate, person-centred care and positive, values-led leadership. She holds a Level 5 Diploma and a BSc in Health and Social Care and is currently studying for a Master’s in International Business Management.


Alex’s leadership is grounded in kindness, empathy and inclusion. Her favourite quote by Eleanor Roosevelt says it all: “To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.”


Alex’s aspiration is creating a place of safety, dignity and care – a true home for our residents.

Prior to moving to the UK, I was a Registered Nurse (RN) working as a staff nurse for three years in an Emergency Care Unit, in New Delhi, India.


I came to the UK in 2008, initially to study for an NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care, as part of understanding both the social and medical care provided in the UK.


I was fortunate to be able to work for Care Homes, initially as a Senior Care Assistant. As I developed my skills, knowledge, and exposure to the care home environment, I was promoted to Team Leader, then an opportunity became available to become an Assistant Manager in 2016.


I joined the TLC group as a Care Service Manager at Cuffley Manor in May 2021 and I am loving the family atmosphere here. I am very passionate about care and people, and I strive to ensure that our residents are receiving outstanding person-centred care in a safe homely environment.

Ann has worked for many years in the hotel industry, working for a number of reputable global hotel companies such as Hilton, Marriot and Shangri-La. In recent years, Ann has found herself in the States working for hotels in California.


Academically speaking, Ann is a distinguished member of our team achieving a BSc in 'Hotel Restaurant Management' - something that she uses every day in her role at Cuffley Manor. In 2025, Ann took a big leap of faith when she moved back across the Atlantic to join the TLC Group as Hotel Services Manager in Cuffley Manor and has since settled into the UK.


Ann, is excited, driven and passionate about making residents and families feel heard and she is always looking to improve the vistor, dining and resident's experience of all those who come into Cuffley Manor.

Job Title: Head Chef

My journey as a Chef began in 2005 when I started working as a Chef Assistant in a care home.


I gradually learnt my trade as the years went on and have also worked in numerous places, including restaurants and hospitals.


I started working with TLC in January 2024 as a chef, and in March 2024, I became the head chef at Cuffley Manor.


I am good at conveying my feelings through my food. To find happiness in cooking is an art, and that gives me the passion and encouragement to inspire other people to become the best at their craft they can be.

Millie Solley

Job Title: Practice Development Lead

Joined: 2017

I have worked in the care sector for over 40 years having started work as an activities coordinator in my home country of Scotland. I then started my career as a care assistant and senior carer in hospitals and care homes.


I took a career break when I had my twins and studied for the Higher Social Care Programme in Edinburgh as a mature student. It was here I was diagnosed with Dyslexia and took part in a programme for those over 40 in education. Ten years ago, I moved to England as a team leader and progressed to Care Services Manager and then home manager.


I joined TLC Care in 2017 as Regional Support Manager before progressing to Learning and Development Coach, and now, I am in a role I have a great passion for at Cuffley Manor.

Joanna Gracyzk

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping

Joined: 2016

I joined Cuffley Manor in June 2016 when it first opened, with new residents joining. I was able to offer care and housekeeping. This was so important for me to learn and understand, and today I can say I am very proud of my home, as this gives me so much joy and satisfaction seeing our family grow at Cuffley Manor.


Seeing residents’ smiles, taking time to sit and talk with them, sometimes, little things are like milestones, seemingly insignificant, but with a huge impact. That’s what working at Cuffley Manor is for me.


In my spare time, I like reading fantasy books, travelling and spending time with my family. I like to learn new skills and always carry a beautiful smile.

Akshay Sanjai Edathottiyil

Job Title: Business Support Manager

I came to the UK to pursue my master's. I started working for TLC as a part-time care assistant in 2021. Though I had never worked in the field of care before, my experience at TLC has piqued my curiosity in it. I was formerly employed in Cherry Hinton, but due to commuting issues, I was transferred to Cuffley Manor. I grew close to the Cuffley people, and I eagerly anticipated working alongside my colleagues each day.
My academics required me to participate in an internship program. I received an offer from TLC to work as an administrator and financial assistant for a year at the Carlton Court Care Home. I was given fresh opportunities for learning and growth while I was at Carlton. I would say that Carlton changed the course of my financial career. I was now offered the amazing chance to return to Cuffley Manor in the capacity of Manager of Finance and HR.
