Mum has only just moved into Wellington Vale. She is settling in well and is enjoying the social life and activities. The home is comfortable and friendly, the staff are kind and supportive to Mum and they are very helpful and supportive to my partner and me too.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. It is lovely to hear that you, as family members, also feel supported by our team here at Wellington Vale.
I found Wellington Vale advertised on the CQC web site, where it had good reports and I reviewed it with a number of others in the local area. The video tour was excellent, particularly as we were locked down, due to Covid. My mother moved to Wellington Vale in October 2020 with advanced Alzheimer’s. From the moment she walked through the door, they were kindness itself and understanding. It seems like a luxury hotel with first-rate food and she always, even in the days of Covid, has plenty of activities in which to participate. Would highly recommend it.
Mum really does love joining in with all the activities! it is so important to stimulate the minds of people living with dementia, it helps to make each and every day a fulfilled and happy one!
My godmother was terminally ill and required 24/7 nursing care. From admission on December 10th to her passing on December 28th, the standard of care was outstanding. The care compassion and dedication of staff were beyond words it was so heartwarming to see. The standard of the home interior was as described, luxury. Every aspect of the service was 1st class and I felt totally reassured that my godmother was in the very safest and best hands. I would recommend Wellington vale 100% without reservation.
Thank you so much for this review. We feel privileged to be able to care for residents and support their families during this stage of their life. It is so important to get it right so to hear how heartwarming it was for you is very welcoming. Your recommendation is very much appreciated by all of the team at Wellington Vale, thank you again!
My aunt has been living in Wellington Vale on the dementia floor since November 2019. The care she has received and is receiving is excellent! This year has obviously been a very difficult one for all the residents, staff and relatives of those in care homes. Whilst face to face visiting was off the agenda for a while, I had video calls with her which were lovely. The current visiting protocols are safety led while still being face to face. The food is lovely, the care is excellent and during these testing times, they cannot do enough for their residents. There have been covid safe performances and activities from gardening to cooking and crafting. My aunt joins in them all! I would highly recommend Wellington Vale to look after your relative.
Thank you for this outstanding review! Wellington Vale has adapted in many ways over the last months to ensure our residents continuously feel safe, secure and part of a big family during this difficult period. Your feedback is very important to us and to know that you have had confidence in all of...

We have a great team who work very hard getting to know all the residents, we pride ourselves on the continuity of our care team members so this review is important and very lovely to read.
Friendly and helpful and I am very happy here.

Certainly happy in this home.

I am very well looked after here and happy.
Fabulous to hear you feel very well looked after at Wellington Vale, it really is a happy home isn't it!
I have recommended Wellington Vale to everyone I know, we are so pleased with the care and attention that my ex-mother-in-law has. She is so happy which is all due to the staff and management which runs the beautiful home.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. It is always a pleasure to know how happy our residents and relatives are with the care we provide.
A very nice, happy place to live.
Thank you for your fantastic review! We are delighted that you are very happy living with us here at Wellington Vale!
Also, musicians, actors, pets, donkeys, birds of prey, alpacas regularly visit the home.
The staff are good sports, dressing up for all occasions - St George’s Day, Easter, Christmas and fete’s, Christmas Fayre. Ice cream stall and cinema with popcorn. All the above are free and we are sometimes asked to buy cakes, etc. to help.
We always love to celebrate an occasion at Wellington Vale (our fancy dress cupboard is very big!). Our residents really do enjoy the variety of daily activities and being whisked off in our minibus too and the team really do enjoy seeing the smiles on their faces. Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review.
Special thanks to the caring staff who gave my mother such a good 100th birthday during these difficult times when I could not see her. In particular, I would rate as "excellent", the carer who arranged a video call so that we could see each other, it was very much appreciated.
It was a pleasure to be able to make your Mum feel special on her 100th birthday. We are really happy that you were able to share it too using the home's portal. Thank you for taking the time to send in your review, it is very much appreciated.
My father has been a resident of Wellington Vale since January 2018 when he arrived after recovering from a broken hip at the age of 99. From the outset, his standard of care has been exemplary. He has an extremely well-appointed, comfortable ensuite room and the professional and attentive staff ensure he feels secure and at home. Family and visitors always receive a warm welcome when they drop round. During the COVID-19 restrictions, the home has excelled. From supplying a video link for his 102 birthday to making him the focal figure for a VE Day flypast. He is happy in his pleasant, modern surroundings, in the company of his newfound friends. In his opinion and mine, it is the best move he ever made.
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! All of the team feel privileged to have Dad living with us and we are super proud to have him as such an important part of the Wellington Vale family. I absolutely love helping Dad on the video calls to you, it makes his day and mine!
I love being here. I am very happy.
My mum has stayed at Wellington Vale four times over the last 2 years, this allowed us to have a holiday. On every occasion, she has come home having enjoyed her stay, she sees this as her holiday. She only has praise for all the staff and the facilities provided. Excellent value for money and great peace of mind.
Thank you for your positive review, we look forward to welcoming your Mum again soon.
This is the only home I have visited which does not smell of urine. It is always clean, tidy, homely and welcoming. It feels more like a hotel, so it is really nice to be in it and visit. The refreshments for visitors are exceptional and the rooms are beautiful. Despite being busy, all staff never rush my mum and give her all the time she needs and show real kindness to her. All of her needs are met and exceeded. The meals the chef prepares are restaurant quality! I cannot praise this home enough, from the facilities to all of the staff. Most importantly...my mum loved it! Thank you to the staff.
The gardens and patio areas are very well kept.
I had a very comfortable and happy stay a Wellington Vale.
Thank you for your kind feedback, we look forward to welcoming you back very soon.
I am fully supportive of their team efforts and recommend Wellington. We may all need such a place one day.
I have been immensely happy and comfortable here. The staff have all been friendly and helpful. I would recommend Wellington Vale care Home to anyone.
It was lovely to have you stay with us whilst your family were away on holiday. We are delighted that you enjoyed your respite break with us and thank you for your wonderful review.

Meet the Team (5)

As the Interim General Manager, I am responsible for the day-to-day management of the home. I support and lead every department and team member to ensure we deliver quality care and the best home experience we can to our wonderful residents.
It is also very important for me to be available for our residents and their families, to remind them that my door is always open and they are welcome!

What I Do:
As the Home Admission Advisor, I am the main point of contact for new residents and their families. I guide and support them through the decision process of choosing a care home by providing them with information on the choice of our care options, facilities, and the expertise of our team. The best way for residents and families to ‘feel’ our beautiful home is to tour it, so I love to show them around and give them an opportunity to see for themselves everything we have to offer and to meet our incredible team!
My Experience:
I returned to the UK in 2012 after working in Ibiza & Italy in the Tourism sector for 14 years. On my return, I joined the music and entertainment industry, managing DJs and acts from home before venturing back out into the workplace and joining the Wellington Vale team.
About Me:
I live locally with my husband Tim, my son Luca, stepchildren Harry and Lucy, along with my brother-in-law Matt and 15-month-old grandson Caspian. Our beautiful 4-year-old collie, called Sox, completes our crazy but happy family life!

As the head chef at Wellington Vale, I am responsible for providing a healthy, well-balanced variety of meals and snacks to our residents every day. My amazing team and I enjoy creating seasonal and themed menus on special days of the year, which our residents love! It is important to me that every resident looks forward to mealtimes and their meals are packed with nutrition and include any special dietary requirements.
My Experience:I have been lucky to work in some beautiful restaurants, in particular Head Chef at ‘The Canteen’, Chef de Partie at ‘The Briny’ (AA Rosette 1 star) and Sous Chef at ‘The Elsted Inn’ in the heart of the South Downs.
About Me:I have a great passion for cooking and love to bring a restaurant standard to Wellington Vale. I love to sing and dance around the home, and I really enjoy getting to know each resident. I am a family man and have a beautiful daughter Ivy.

As Recruitment Administrator in our home, I oversee the recruitment journey—from carefully reviewing CVs and selecting candidates to ensuring smooth onboarding and induction. I also maintain both physical and digital staff records, ensuring everything is current and compliant.
My ExperienceWith a rich administrative background spanning packaging, marketing, and healthcare, I’ve held roles from personnel administrator to PA in a design and marketing agency and account executive for pharmaceutical clients. This diverse experience has honed my organisational expertise and attention to detail.
About MeI find joy in a balanced, simple life—cherishing time with family, sharing meals and laughter with friends. These days, you’ll often find me on a walk or at an exercise class, and I always make sure there’s a holiday or two on the horizon.

My role as Wellington Vale’s administrator is to support the home with finance management, which includes payroll, supplier accounts, budgets and working closely with resident families regarding their monthly accounts. I also support James, our home manager and the reception team daily.
My ExperienceI have been part of the team at Wellington Vale for six years, starting my journey as a carer, then senior carer, before supporting our deputy managers as the care co-ordinator. I am now enjoying my new role as the home administrator.
About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy playing darts, which definitely brings out my competitive side. I also love shopping and finding a good bargain—even if I don’t really need it!
