Pemberley Manor Care Home is a purpose-built modern care home for up to 75 residents. Close to Chislehurst in the borough of Bromley, the home is conveniently located close to the A20 and local train stations. The highly trained care team provides 24-hour care and takes time to get to know residents and their needs individually offering a truly person-centred approach.

The care home provides person-centred residential and specialist dementia care across three floors. The home also offers short-term respite care, ideal for a period of convalescence following a stay in hospital. I have been treated exceedingly well and have appreciated all the care and attention. All the staff work very hard and make us feel safe and cared for. I am leaving after respite and feel I have received care and attention for which I am truly grateful. I will be sad to leave.

The atmosphere is always welcoming and there is a relaxing lounge for visiting residents. There is always a welcome coffee and cake. The staff are always friendly and on hand to answer queries and help residents.

My grandmother's sister is a resident of Baycroft Grays. She moved into the home during the Covid period and being a family that lives 60 miles away, it was very hard for both of us to visit at that time. I just want to say how amazing the staff are, how welcomed we felt when we came and how safe they
made everyone. We love coming to the home, seeing how clean it is, modern and how relaxed and happy the residents feel. Everyone is so welcoming and we know she is in safe hands. Being so far away we are kept updated with Baycroft Gray's social media page which is updated all week letting us know all the fun things my great aunt gets up to with videos, pictures and comments which makes us feel so happy that she is happy! Coming to see her is always at ease and we look forward to it every time. Thank you to everyone at Baycroft for all that you do.

My mother had 2 weeks respite care in Baycroft. Unfortunately because of Covid at the Orpington home she had one week in Essex and the second week in Orpington. Baycroft dealt with all the travel very well.
In the all too short time at the Orpington home she made some friends and started to get involved
in some activities. She had a nice room and was looked after well.

Our mother, who has Alzheimer’s, has been a resident of Baycroft since almost the day it opened, in 2017. The facilities are excellent and the care that she receives is compassionate and dedicated. The food is good and Mum is very content, although she chooses not to participate in the activities on
offer. We are happy that she is being well cared-for. Two years ago we moved my father (no dementia but terminally ill) into Baycroft for ‘end of life’ care. He was there for two weeks before he died, and again his care was very good. We do find, however, that communication between the home and residents' families leaves something to be desired. The management team has had multiple changes over the time Mum has been there, which is continuing, and it is often difficult to find out who to talk to about Mum. This has been exacerbated by the pandemic and the multiple lockdowns imposed by public health regulations.

My lovely mum has been in Baycroft Grays Farm since September 2021.
I cannot thank the staff enough for looking after my mum! I have great peace of mind knowing that Mum is getting the best care and being well looked after by all the staff and management.
Baycroft's Facebook page is brilliant. The
regular emails of activities for the week to family members are good!
Due to my long journey to see Mum, I stay for about 3 to 4 hours, so I do get a good insight into the care and attention given to the residents!
The food is lovely, the activities are fun, the facilities are very nice; Mum’s room is lovely, the gardens and surroundings are very nice and well-maintained, and most of all, the staff and management are brilliant!

Our mother has been a resident at Baycroft for the last four and a half years, and we have always been very pleased with her care. The carers, nurses and all staff treat her with dignity and respect. She is happy and settled. The activities are excellent, and Mum enjoys these.

Since my father moved into Baycroft in April 2021, he has had nothing but excellent care. As the home has been able to ease on Covid restrictions, the feeling of normality has added to an already lovely atmosphere whenever I visit. The activities organised are wonderful and varied. The activities coordinator
has even got my father doing activities I never thought I would see, and he thoroughly enjoys them. This weekend was his birthday, and thanks to the great Baycroft kitchen staff, family were able to enjoy an excellent afternoon tea along with other residents. My father enjoyed it greatly. Thank you, especially, to the activities coordinator who came in on a Sunday to ‘decorate’ Dad’s room with banners and balloons. Would not hesitate in recommending Baycroft to anyone and have never regretted the decision to choose it for the care Dad so desperately needed.

Very friendly and professional, caring team that took care of Mother during her muscular rehab following surgery, and the whole facility is first class. The activities that people can take part in, helps them socialise and feel comfortable, and on our visits, we saw Mum making sup cakes and she has
also been doing potting plants in the gardening workshop, which was great.

Our father has been at Baycroft Grays Farm Road since February and we have found the home to be very attentive and caring, especially in the quality and consideration of its staff. Dad is very happy there and our family is also happy with this and the personalised care they have tailored for him. Dad
has a very good rapport with many of the staff which for me shows that he has regular contact. We really were touched by the cakes, bunting, balloons and attention to detail for dad's onsite and outside birthday party. The staff also take dad to local medical appointments when we can't, which is reassuring. We really appreciate the zoom calls and online correspondence we receive to keep us in the loop on things happening at the care home generally such as events, Covid-19 and maintenance. Of course, the surroundings are gorgeous and dad really likes that too and is looking forward to more events as we move beyond Covid-19. Thank you Baycroft Grays Farm Road, with thanks.

On my visits to this home it was very apparent that there was very little interaction between the carers and residents. The TV is on, but as the residents are seated facing each other with the TV on the other wall they cannot follow what is going on. They were getting bored and fractious, and, there
was no attempt to engage with them which was resulting in some getting upset and making others agitated.
For a home that is supposed to be specialising in dementia care, it was poor care that I observed. The building is luxurious but I think the care is lacking.

The impression I got when you drive into the car park of Baycroft was very impressive and the cleaning standards and decoration within the home are of a very good standard. However, whenever I visited my friend who is a very kind man, there was never any staff around to ask questions and on numerous
occasions, whenever I used the telephone provided in the guests' meeting room on the 1st floor, to notify the staff that I was leaving, more often than not, the phone would often ring for 10 minutes before being answered. In my professional opinion, the home is understaffed.

However, we’re sorry you experienced issues getting in touch with staff when you wanted to leave. In order to keep our residents safe from Covid, we created two cohorts of staff, and operated the two suites within the service as separate entities; this included two separate visiting areas within the service. In doing so, we have higher ratios of staffing within the service. Our care team are hospitable, and would always look to be attentive, but in this case, they would have been attending to other residents, so it is likely this was the reason they were delayed coming to get you once you had finished your visit. We are of course sorry that this was your experience, and for any inconvenience, this may have caused you.

Unfortunately, when I chose Baycroft I ignored the CQC rating which said the home was poorly led. This home is poorly led and the care is affected because of this. This home is not geared to properly care for people with dementia and care plans are not followed because it would appear they are not communicated
to staff.
Do not just look at the decor. When you visit this home, things are not as they seem.

My mother was very apprehensive about going into a care home, but in less than a day, she was the happiest we had seen her in a long time. The care is first class, and all the staff we have had contact with are very customer focused and caring. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and I feel totally

Baycroft Grays Farm is a superb example of residential care. From my experience so far with the home, all staff are completely committed to giving my dear mum the care and attention she would want, and definitely what she needs.
The home not only looks amazing aesthetically but is amazing in its care
for its residents.
There are plenty of activities, pamper days, a cinema, good food, beautiful gardens, hotel standard rooms, but the most outstanding feature is the staff, and in my experience with care homes, this is the most essential thing.
I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone whose loved one needs care.

We were so impressed with Baycroft back in February 2019 when we first visited and have been pleased and impressed since. The care is good and all the staff are lovely. Our very dear friend is so well looked after and she is extremely happy and content. Any medical problems are dealt with promptly and
instructions carried out. Nothing is too much trouble. Baycroft is like a five-star hotel. All the areas are beautifully equipped and kept so very well. I would highly recommend.

Having been a resident here for seven days my first impressions are excellent. I find the staff, carers, nurses, cleaners all very helpful and polite. The food is variable and generally very tasty, well presented.
Because of the few number of residents, it is not easy to make new friends but it is
nice to sit with fellow residents in the dining area.
The 'wet room' and shower are an excellent facility and ensuite washing and toilet facilities acceptable.

Baycroft Grays Farm Road Care Home is a beautiful care home, from the actual building, decor, gardens, restaurants - outstanding. We were made very welcome from our very first visit and since joining up, the staff and management have been incredibly supportive, attentive and caring

It was a difficult decision to place our mother in a residential home as she was fiercely independent but after several falls and potentially serious accidents at home, it was clear that she could not remain living by herself. We chose Baycroft Grays Farm Road because of its close location to my brother.
Our mother was initially quite difficult and resistant but through the patient and caring support given to her by the Baycroft staff, she eventually settled down and now seems quite relaxed and content. I suppose our only gripe is the cost, but good things always cost more. Overall we are very happy with the decision to put our mother in Baycroft and it is a great relief to us to know that she is being cared for professionally.

I started my career as a carer, after spending my childhood watching my parents working in various care homes and seeing the difference this made to people's lives, care is quite literally in my genes! As soon as I left school, I knew this was what I wanted to do and I worked as a carer for 4 years, before changing roles in my previous care home to Activities coordinator, I continued in this role and then joined the incredible team at Baycroft as a Lifestyle and Wellbeing Co-ordinator, where I was mostly responsible for organising and hosting our weekly activities programme.


I have recently started an exciting new position within Baycroft; as a customer relations manager and have been enjoying exploring my new role and furthering my skills.

Job Title: Executive Chef, Baycroft Grays Farm Road Joined: 2017

Raised in Caserta Italy, Michele del Monaco grew up surrounded by the finest ingredients and traditions of Southern Italy. He’s had an amazing career, including working in Sardinia, taking the position of Executive Chef in one of the Rio de Janeiro’s finest Italian restaurants and joining the world-renowned kitchens at the two Michelin starred Hotel Il Pellicano in Tuscany.


Over his global career, Michele has evolved his cooking to incorporate the modern fine dining style whilst maintaining the authentic Italian concept inspired by his homeland, which is what he is now bringing to Baycroft in Orpington.


Our personal favourites are his calamari, beef wellington and apple crumble!!

Hi, My name is Lauren and I am the new Home Administrator for Baycroft, Grays Farm Road. I have been in the care industry since 2013 when I started as a carer in an extra scheme and from there, I progressed into more senior roles over the 6 years I worked there. I then worked for a private domiciliary service in Bromley until the end of 2020. I have always enjoyed working in care and gaining various experiences from the roles have been in over the years, It's very rewarding knowing that you are making a difference in a person's life. After a break from work to raise children, I am now here at Baycroft and I am looking forward to working with the team and meeting the residents and family members.

My name is Joanne, and I am one of the receptionists at Baycroft Orpington I have worked as a receptionist all my working life.

I love my job as a receptionist at Baycroft Orpington because I get to see so many visitors with who I really enjoy chatting.

I have lots of conversations with the lovely residents, jokes and laughs they are such lovely people it is nice to meet their family members too.

As a therapist and consultant, I have always enjoyed working with the older generation and building a relationship with them to the point a lot of them became friends. I have a caring nature and decided to get into the care industry using my customer service and reception skills. I know I will get a lot of job satisfaction from knowing I am part of helping someone’s care and attending to their friends and relatives, giving them 5-star service.

I am the maintenance man for Baycroft, I have been made very welcome and supported by the staff in the home.


I’ve been in care for over 17 years in different roles predominantly in Dementia homes, eventually moving into training. Qualified in all aspects of training within the healthcare sector. I moved out of care homes and into a highly successful training company teaching across all sectors of care including the NHS. I am a qualified Dementia trainer for the world-renowned Virtual Dementia Tour and a Newly designed Dementia Interpreter I can utilise my skills gained to help make the residents' lives as fulfilling as possible.

I joined Baycroft in 2019 as a healthcare assistant but I started caring in 2017 for my great nan when she became unwell. I have now started a new role as Activities Coordinator at Baycroft Grays Farm Road, I am enjoying creating a diverse, stimulating activities programme for residents to enjoy.


I enjoy taking part in the daily activities with residents and it is so rewarding to see them benefiting from having social interaction with others and a sense of empowerment from taking part.

BIN ZHANG graduated from Medical College of SOUTHEAST UNIVERSITY in China and gained a Diploma of Medical Laboratory Science. After his graduation, BIN worked as a medical laboratory scientist in general hospitals for 10 years, as a senior QC supervisor and ISO15189 internal auditor in independent medical laboratories for 4 years, and as a QA manager and senior medical IVD scientist in an international medical devices company.


After moving to UK BIN gained NVQ-3 Health and Social care certificates and has been working in healthcare settings for 6 years. During his work experience, he has a good reputation for client-centred care service as a healthcare assistant and senior healthcare assistant.

My name is Lisa Young


I have been working as a Health care assistant for 9 years now. I first started off with Domiciliary care where I had to drive to my resident's houses. I then decided to move on and applied for Maples care home in Bexleyheath. I enjoyed my Job role and loved making my resident's life's enjoyable and helping them live an independent life, and enjoyed making them laugh and smile.


There was an opportunity to better me and I decided to study and work towards my NVQ 2 in health and social care it was pretty intense but thoroughly enjoyed it and was really interesting. This Qualification took me over a year and was pleased to say I passed my NVQ 2 which I was very happy with. I then decided my life wasn't complete yet and decided I was going to move on and work towards my NVQ3 so I found myself studying again and after a lot of hard work and effort I passed my NVQ3 in health and social care. I then moved on and joined Baycroft and I soon settled in with the routine and loved caring for my residents and getting to know all of their interests and preferences in the way they would like me to care for them. I am still working at Baycroft and am enjoying my Job role as a care assistant.

My name is Joyce Hayes, I started my hairdressing career when I was 15 years old... Which means I have been doing people's hair for a very long time, and I hope to continue doing it for many more years to come! I have worked in many salons throughout the years, however, I find working in a care home so much more rewarding.


I have been coming to do the resident's hair at Baycroft for three years now. I love coming here because the staff are so caring and welcoming not only to all of the visitors but the residents too. I enjoy doing the resident's hair because seeing them happy and the impact having their hair and nails done has on them, makes everything worthwhile. It makes such a difference for them, it’s the whole experience of coming to the Salon, having a natter and a laugh with everyone, not to mention plenty of tea, cakes and of course a sing-along!
