other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

As the building is new, it was a very pleasant, light and clean place. Staff were all friendly and the tea area was good to relax. But when my husband came home, he was dehydrated and not well. I'm sure they did their best to look after but obviously, he is not well since he came home after staying
through for 2 weeks. So, I wonder if there was enough staff to look after the residents.

With regards to the staffing levels, I would like to assure you that residents’ safety and welfare is our priority at all times and as such we do a full dependency analysis for each resident which is used to plan the care team, in order to ensure that care is safe and appropriate for residents’ needs. However, we do take your concerns seriously and will pass your comments to the home manager. We also wanted to put your mind at ease around hydration. To make sure that all residents are well hydrated we monitor each resident's fluid intake on a daily basis. Tea, coffees and other beverages are offered throughout the day and any concerns are reported and acted upon immediately. Please do contact the home manager or any other members of the senior team at the home if there is anything else we can help with now or in the future.

I have found everybody here kind and helpful. I know I am a difficult client but everybody does everything to help me. During the weekend I think we could use more staff.

Weald Heights is well-designed and with its wide corridors and spacious rooms it is a lovely place to visit. My mother likes the food and the staff are caring and friendly.
Our main - and only - concern is that my mother wonders if there are enough staff. They seem to work twelve-hour shifts and often
my mother has to wait quite a while before someone is available to come and help her. She doesn't like to ring for help too often, but there are things she is just unable to do by herself.
She likes routine; so if for example, she knew that breakfast/getting dressed/having a bath happened at certain set times, she probably wouldn't feel she was waiting quite so much.
The staffing issue is the only area in which I think Weald Heights could improve. I don't mean to sound complaining, as everything else is lovely.

The staffing rota at Weald Heights often runs above the industry average, even though on occasion we do have sickness, however, in these instances we always do everything we can to ensure that it is covered. To put your mind at ease, the staffing levels at weekends are the same as during the week, although there is less administration staff on duty during the weekend. We welcome use of the call bell by all residents, and carer response times to the bell are monitored on a weekly basis to ensure that they are answered in a timely way.


Each day at Weald Heights is tailored to every individual, so mealtimes and personal care happen when the resident wants it to. There’s a cook to order service so every resident has the choice of freshly cooked meals, served when they want them. If your mother’s preference is to have set meal times, please do get in touch and we can do our utmost to plan these in.

Dad came to stay at Weald Heights last July. When he arrived he was scared and uncertain of his future.
After three or four weeks of caring from the Weald Heights staff plus a slight change to his medications, Dad is now very happy with his situation, always smiling when I come to visit with Gromet
the dog!

My mother stayed at Weald Heights for a fortnight while we were away on holiday in June. I was very impressed with the level of care and consideration taken during the care assessment and the preparation for her short stay. Mum was very well looked after and the staff took great care to get to know
her and her needs even though she was only staying for two weeks. It was a great relief to me to know she was in such good hands and enabled me to have a relaxing break. The staff were welcoming and very friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, in fact, I already have!

My father, who has early stage Alzheimer's and vascular dementia, stayed at Weald Heights on their dementia floor for two weeks respite care while we were away on holiday. I can't praise the staff enough for the sincere care and kindness. Dad was encouraged to join in several activities, which I never
thought he would do. Although he was nervous about staying he really enjoyed himself. His overall well-being has improved and I can honestly say that it was a positive experience for him. The staff keep you informed at all times, even sending photographs of Dad. Nothing is too much trouble. Dad will eventually need full-time care and we will have no hesitation in moving him to Weald Heights.

For the moment my mother moved into Weald Heights, she has been welcomed. Treated with respect and courtesy by a very friendly group of staff, who have encouraged her greatly. From her room to meals, entertainment, and the ambience of Weald Heights. I could not ask for more.
I feel that now my mother
is more settled and appears happy, thanks to all the staff, it is an enormous relief to me and my family.

Mum is very frail, elderly and needs a lot of reassurance, care and support. She has lived at Weald Heights for 3 months and in that time she has received very personalised, great care from committed, caring, professional staff. The home is very comfortable and fitted out to a very high standard.
The staff go out of their way to make Mum comfortable and let her live the life she wants, given her frailties.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2016

I’m a registered nurse by training and have worked in older people’s care for 25 years. Before joining Weald Heights in 2016, I had managed a large care home for ten years. I’ve been at Weald Heights since before it opened its doors. I’m delighted at the way my team and I have made it a home with a first-class reputation.


I believe in setting the standard, rather than following, and we take an innovative, personalised approach to resident care. When residents said they fancied learning a new language, we set up Spanish lessons and joined with a local parent and toddler group so that the generations could learn together. And when a gentleman, who is a keen musician, wanted to visit the Royal Albert Hall for his 90th birthday, we worked with his family to make it happen and to give him an unforgettable day.


I was delighted with our ‘good’ rating from the CQC, which we gained in September 2018. I’m now looking forward to continuing to work with my skilled and passionate team to go one better. Our aim now is to become an ‘outstanding’ provider of great care for older people in Sevenoaks, and across Kent and the South East of England.
