Weald Heights has provided excellent care to my mother and father. My father received attentive end of life care with our family at his bedside.

My mother has received very good dementia care from a carer and activities team that has quickly understood my mother's needs. Their warmth and enthusiasm towards her is heartwarming to see.

I feel very lucky that a room was available for my husband when he was discharged from hospital. The staff are helpful, friendly and so very caring, not only to my husband but to me also. Whilst I am very sad that I am unable to care for my husband, I know that at Weald Heights he is getting the best care possible, thank you to you all.

Overall Experience
Our relative has been as well looked after as we could hope for. And by that, I mean in every way. The home is clean and bright, the staff are professional and the food is varied and tasty.
What I particularly like is the Care Plans attitude. It is true that this is not just a nursing home, but a place to live.
Our relative has her own news to report at our visits. For example, she will say she has particularly enjoyed a film, a quiz, a discussion on a topic around her era, or some live music. The variety of activities is really broad and the attitude in the home lively and cheerful.

The home really welcomes visitors by providing lovely spaces outside of the residents' bedrooms to have a coffee/tea and cake and ensuring it is more like a home than a hospital.

My mother has stayed at Weald Heights on 2 occasions for respite care over the last 12 months. The staff were caring and attentive and looked after her well - spending time to get to know her and her requirements. Facilities were very good- hairdresser and chiropodist on site also help. There are a selection of Entertainment and events available on a daily basis too. I would recommend Weald heights - it feels more like a hotel with care than a care home!

Overall Experience
Mum and Dad stayed at Weald Heights for a couple of weeks respite care.
The home is only a couple of years old, tastefully decorated, clean and well maintained. Having had difficulty getting somewhere to take my parents in the same room, they were only too happy to oblige. Facilities were fantastic, including a lovely cafe area where visitors can help themselves to coffee and cake, a chiropodist and hairdressers plus cinema and library. It could certainly be mistaken for a hotel!
All the staff were very friendly, helpful and respectful and clearly enjoyed their jobs. Nothing was too much trouble.
The activities team were amazing, providing a schedule of events to keep residents active and entertained. Mum especially loved the therapy dog, exercises and table tennis.

Thank you so much to all staff for looking after them both so well. It was lovely to see them on such a high from their stay at Weald Heights.

I have been delighted with the quality of care and facilities at Weald Heights. Mum has settled into her new home at ease. The opportunity to bring personal bed linen and furniture has helped; she enjoys having her own bookcase. Mum recognises the interest and compassion shown by all staff, as well as the encouragement to engage in all activities. We really appreciate the whole teams help and support, thank you and well done!

I was attorney of lady/former client for whom I had acted for over forty years whose previous care home could not look after her when she developed serious dementia. She was moved to Weald Heights in December and the care and respect of her personal dignity and the preparation for her passing were handled by all staff with exceptional care. I shall always be grateful for the support which the lady received in her time at Weald Heights and for the ability and willingness of the staff to do their best to enable her to get the best quality of life there.

Just prior to Christmas 2018 I was admitted to A & E because of an infection which involved a hospital stay.
My husband has dementia and the family found placing him here was a very easy transition and his respite care has been excellent.

He has been settled and happy and the relief has been immense.

An extremely well run care home with very friendly, professional staff.
The location is good and the rooms are all well furnished and spotlessly clean.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and my wife, who was initially rather troubled by coming in for respite care, settled down very quickly and within days was joining in activities and rapidly relaxing and enjoying herself.
I have her booked in for a further two weeks in March and she is looking forward to this.

I would certainly recommend Weald Heights Care home to anyone.

It is a year since mum came to Weald Heights and I am so pleased with how quickly she has settled in and was welcomed.
I now have no worries about her as I was very unsure about her going into a care home.
The staff treat everyone with respect and kindness and are always available.
There has been nothing that is too much trouble, I cannot praise them highly enough.
The range of activities is excellent, many of which I have enjoyed.

I am so pleased we chose Weald Heights, it is excellent.

Meet the Team (1)

Maria Covington
Maria CovingtonJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2016

I’m a registered nurse by training and have worked in older people’s care for 25 years. Before joining Weald Heights in 2016, I had managed a large care home for ten years. I’ve been at Weald Heights since before it opened its doors. I’m delighted at the way my team and I have made it a home with a first-class reputation.

I believe in setting the standard, rather than following, and we take an innovative, personalised approach to resident care. When residents said they fancied learning a new language, we set up Spanish lessons and joined with a local parent and toddler group so that the generations could learn together. And when a gentleman, who is a keen musician, wanted to visit the Royal Albert Hall for his 90th birthday, we worked with his family to make it happen and to give him an unforgettable day.

I was delighted with our ‘good’ rating from the CQC, which we gained in September 2018. I’m now looking forward to continuing to work with my skilled and passionate team to go one better. Our aim now is to become an ‘outstanding’ provider of great care for older people in Sevenoaks, and across Kent and the South East of England.
