I (along with my sisters and cousin) have visited our aunt at Weald Heights and maintained regular contact by phone with the staff who are supervising her care. We are very happy with the care, kindness and attention shown to her and feel relieved that she seems to have settled in well.

Since our father's arrival at Weald Heights, which had previously hosted our mother for periods of respite care, we have continued to be very happy with the standard of care provided. The organisation is clearly run as an efficient business and fees reflect the high standard of facilities provided. Staff are invariably helpful, caring and good-natured, projecting a positive face even in occasionally challenging situations. They have been receptive to requests for information, including access to relevant aspects of dad's care plan. The weekly (email) programme of planned events, coupled with the Relish Wellbeing app, has allowed us to maintain a basic remote overview of Dad's activity in-between visits. Staff have also been proactive in facilitating and supporting external activities (eg trips to Biggin Hill Airport), which go beyond their normal remit. We hope that the improving weather may permit more time to be spent outside in the fresh air during the coming months.

Mum is looked after very well. All the staff are extremely caring and go the extra mile to do things for her that really make a difference. Like washing and drying her hair on the days when her hairdresser hasn't been able to come in. Mum is showered every day. I know this isn't the case everywhere as we had to chase the staff in another home to shower my Dad twice a week - it was an ongoing battle. Mum is always dressed nicely and she tells me the staff are kind and patient. I too, have witnessed their care and compassion. Only yesterday when I went to see her they were all outside under sun umbrellas having a cream tea which she thoroughly enjoyed. Had a few issues with the laundry being shrunk but hope this is now resolved. And occasionally Mum has said the food portions can be small but there are always snacks available. Overall I couldn't be happier with Weald Heights - it really is like a hotel with care.

A care home's success boils down to the people who work there and in Weald Heights, like anywhere, you find some who are exceptional and one or two who lag way behind.
On the whole, the staff are very kind and my mother is very content and well cared for. Sadly it is a profit-making business and it seems sometimes resources and budgets aren't always allocated on a client-need basis.
The laundry service is a weak area and clothes need to be robust to go through the system. The food provided always looks good and the activities provided are varied and well thought out, there is something for everyone.
The home is conveniently based near Sevenoaks town although it is a shame not to have a larger garden area, that is wheelchair friendly, it's on a real slope.

As a regular visitor, the atmosphere in Weald Heights is friendly, cheerful and welcoming and the staff always give you time to discuss your relative's needs.

Since becoming a resident at Weald Heights last spring, my mother has experienced outstanding care. The staff have truly treated her as an individual (as is the case with all the residents) by taking time to find out about her family history and hobbies and interests. The activities are varied and presented in a way that is fun and engaging. She has particularly enjoyed the variety of musicians who visit, especially the classical singers. When I visit her in one of the communal areas, there is always a calm and contented atmosphere, a real 'home from home' feeling. The communication from carers regarding any health or dietary issues is prompt and informative and everyone within the building is polite, friendly and cheerful.

I would definitely, (in fact I have!), recommend Weald Heights to others seeking the reassurance of excellent care for their loved one.

We have been very impressed with everything at Weald Heights from the receptionists to the carers, nurses and cleaners. Dad has settled in so well and is always so complimentary about everything. He feels like he is in a hotel!
All the staff seem to work very hard and actually know the residents they are caring for which cannot be said for some homes.

All around it has been a very positive experience, both for us, and for Dad who would never have imagined living in a care home. Now he sees it as his home.

It is a big responsibility to move a loved one into a care home and then choose the right one. Weald Heights really supported us in this process. We moved my mother-in-law into Weald Heights a month ago and we could not be more pleased with how well her settling in has gone. Weald showed us round twice before we made the decision, which we really appreciated, and this meant that when we came to decide we were really confident we had chosen the best home in the area and we went to see them all, in fact, we were desperate to get her a place as I didn’t want her going anywhere else! The staff are lovely, the home is really comfy and cosy. I love visiting her and spending time in the lounge where she is really relaxed. It’s a happy homely place. The entertainment is outstanding. My mother-in-law has already been on an outing to Polhill and is having a really good quality of life at Weald Heights and being really well looked after. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Our mother has been in respite care for a few days now and so far all is going well. The activities are wonderful and staff to resident ratio impressive.

The facility is bright, clean and cheery with upbeat motivated staff and visiting is welcomed at any time. The cinema room and bar are particularly appealing!

Dad went into Weald Heights on 21st September, very reluctantly to begin with, and we were not sure that he would settle. However after the first couple of weeks, he seemed to realise that he was so much better off than when he lived on his own at home, and when we visit him now he is so full of praise for the staff and cannot speak highly enough of them. He thinks of it as his new home and enjoys the company of other residents.

We have been very impressed by the wonderful staff, who always seem cheerful and hard-working. It is lovely to see that they obviously work as a dedicated team. They are always ready to help and answer any queries we have. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to others.

My mum has been at Weald Heights for over two years and has received wonderful care from the whole care team throughout the home. At the end of the day a good home is down to the people who work there and how dedicated they are, day in and day out. I constantly notice all the little things that build up to creating the big picture. The residents are seen, understood and respected. I feel totally reassured that my mum is in safe and caring hands. As a daughter having that peace of mind is priceless.

Mum moved to Weald Heights in July 2023. It was a very difficult decision for us to make the move and one that we agonised over.
Since she moved in, we couldn't be happier with the staff, her level of care, her bedroom, the home's facilities and the wonderful activity programme which changes weekly.

As someone said to me, ' Weald Heights is a very happy place', and we all agree on that!

I cannot praise Weald Heights enough for the way they care for my darling mother, not only for the beautiful accommodation and wonderful environment but more importantly, the incredible staff throughout the home. There's always a warm welcome from the receptionists. Whenever I telephone, they are quick to answer and if the person I want to speak to is engaged or not available, the
person concerned always returns my call.
My mother is treated with dignity and kindness by the amazing carers, and they always have time for her. Nothing is too much bother. When I was away recently, I was rather concerned as my mother has been very unwell. One of the carers suggested Facetime, using her own phone so that I could talk and see my mother, to assure myself that all was well.

My family and I have never known a residential home like it and we thank you for everything.

Maria Covington
Maria CovingtonJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2016

I’m a registered nurse by training and have worked in older people’s care for 25 years. Before joining Weald Heights in 2016, I had managed a large care home for ten years. I’ve been at Weald Heights since before it opened its doors. I’m delighted at the way my team and I have made it a home with a first-class reputation.

I believe in setting the standard, rather than following, and we take an innovative, personalised approach to resident care. When residents said they fancied learning a new language, we set up Spanish lessons and joined with a local parent and toddler group so that the generations could learn together. And when a gentleman, who is a keen musician, wanted to visit the Royal Albert Hall for his 90th birthday, we worked with his family to make it happen and to give him an unforgettable day.

I was delighted with our ‘good’ rating from the CQC, which we gained in September 2018. I’m now looking forward to continuing to work with my skilled and passionate team to go one better. Our aim now is to become an ‘outstanding’ provider of great care for older people in Sevenoaks, and across Kent and the South East of England.
