Warm, welcoming and engaging staff have enriched my mum's time at Oak Springs. When my Mum became ill, their knowledge, experience and rapid actions contributed significantly to her treatment and recovery. Both my family and I feel safe that Mum is in their care. I could not recommend Oak Spring's highly enough.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for Oak Springs. I'm so please you are happy with the care we provide. Kind Regards Andrea
The staff on my nan's floor are absolutely wonderful. They're kind, patient, and always go above and beyond to make her feel safe, comfortable and cared for. It's clear they treat residents like family and we're so grateful for everything they do.
We are so grateful that you have taken the time to write such a lovely review, staff do go above and beyond to make all our residents feel safe and comfortable. Kind Regards Andrea
He is not happy but mostly content. He would like to be at home. The staff are all caring and treat him with respect and dignity. If a problem arises, I am always helped by the management to discuss and sort them out.
The floor manager is always in full control, and if my husband is upset or has a problem, it will be sorted by them. Overall good.
Thank you for your feedback, it is a difficult transition for residents and their loved ones moving in to a care home. We are happy to know he is content now. Kind regards Andrea
Have no criticisms at all with the care home. My cousin has been a resident for several years, and I think his needs are more than catered for by exemplary staff.
Thank you for your 5 star review, it means so much to us all at Oak Springs. Kind Regards Andrea Lyon
Staff on Willow are AMAZING. They have given my nan a home. My nan is the happiest she has been in years. Julia and the team are fantastic.
It is our absolute pleasure to care for your nan. Thank you for your fantastic feedback. Kind regards Andrea Lyon
It is upsetting when your mother has to move into a home. It is reassuring, though, when you see so many staff speaking nicely to your mum and having a joke. It is not just the caring staff who are kind; the cleaners, etc., are too. Some of the caring staff are wonderful. They do more than their job requires. They are caring people.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, I will ensure to pass your comments over to the team. Kind regards Andrea Lyon
Having lived in a free and controlled lifestyle for many years, I found it a little difficult to be so restrained and "locked" in at the weekends and night time. Having my friends and former colleagues call to visit has been a big relief. I appreciate the excellent security. I would appreciate the meals being served at a hotter temperature.
Thank you so much for your feedback, all noted and we will ensure that your requests are actioned. Kind regards Andrea Lyon
The food could be better but I appreciate that elderly people can be quite fussy and this is mass catering.
Activities could be more frequent and varied but mum often chooses not to join in. Staff are generally good/very good but there is almost constant flow of care staff so more needs to be done to ration them.
My mother in law receives excellent care from all the staff on Willow Suite, it's a well run unit. Always spotless, friendly staff - very caring and have a smile and laugh for all the residents.
Thank you for your feedback, I will be sure to pass on your kind words. Kind Regards Andrea lyon
All the staff on Walnut Suite made Mum welcome. They are kind, thoughtful and have a great sense of humour. Mum is the happiest I have seen her in years. There is an amazing range of activities and trips that keep her mind active. Her ensuite room is very spacious, and Mum was encouraged to make it homely. I am so grateful for everyone's care and love. Moving Mum to Walnut Suite was the best thing ever.
Thank you for your review, Its lovely to know that mum is happy living at Oak Springs. I will ensure that I pass your lovely feedback to all the staff on Walnut suite. Kind Regards Andrea lyon
From the minute my mother in law moved into Walnut Suite at Oak Springs, she started to 'live' again. All the staff treat her with care & affection. She told me she feels 'at home', which was important to me. 'Mum' has settled in well and made friends, and more importantl,y looks forward to every day and the fun things that are on offer. We can't ask for more.
Thank you for taking the time to review us at Oak Springs. We really appreciate your positive feedback. Kind Regards Andrea Lyon
If there is a better care home, I'd like to know where it is! I can't speak highly enough of the staff. Pleased that my wife was able to come here.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback, I will be sure to pass on to the staff. Kind regards
I always found the carers friendly, helpful and happy to explain things to you. The Activity staff always tried to get everyone involved in craft, knitting, bingo etc I would especially like to thank one staff member in particular who really took charge when my mother-in-law was ill but I must also say how disappointed I was with the 2 managers who sadly couldn't pick up the phone to offer their condolences when my mother-in-law passed away neither made any contact with us.
Thank you for your review. I was with your mother-in-law up until the ambulance crew arriving, I am sorry that you feel that managers was not in contact with you. But I did speak to your husband again when he came to the home to collect your mother-in-laws personal belongings. Maybe this was something he had not communicated with you.kind RegardsAndrea Lyon
As a family, we feel that Mum has settled in remarkably well and all her needs are catered for.
You can't put a value on leaving mum after every visit and reassured she is safe.
Thank you for taking the time to review Oak Springs Care Home, your lovely feedback will be passed on to the staff. Kind regards Andrea
Oak Springs has been a game-changer for my dad. He was in a different home before and had deteriorated quite quickly. The change I've seen in my Dad since coming here is unbelievable. He is always happy and so content now and the staff go above and beyond. The daily activities are amazing and everything feels very much personable. My dad doesn't feel like just a number. They know him, his likes, his dislikes and it feels like a 'family' when visiting. Thank you so much for taking good care of him!
Thank you for your kind review, it really does mean a lot to us all to know we are making a positive impact on our residents and family's lives. Kind regards Andrea
They made a horrible event a lot easier. Mum was kept comfortable to the end and treated with dignity and respect.
Thank you for your kind review, it is important for us to have our residents back home to the environment they are familiar with, staff they know and a place that's home, of course it's so sad for us to lose any of our residents, but it's the last greatest care we can deliver to ensure their...
My Father was a resident at Oak Springs from early in 2023. He had dementia and it was a difficult decision for him to be placed in care. He passed away early this month. The staff and care of Dad was wonderful. He was content, happy and so well loved by the staff. My family will always be grateful.
Thank you for your kind words, it was an absolute pleasure to care for your father, I will be sure to pass your compliments on to the staff. Kind regards.
I wish to thank all the staff at Oak Springs for the wonderful care given to my husband during his time as a resident with O.S. He was admitted as a full-time resident in March 2023. From the time of his admission he was treated with great care, respect, and understanding myself and my family are full of gratitude for those who looked after my husband so well. We cannot thank the carers and all those in Oak Springs enough. My husband was content and calm throughout his time with O.S. and even though he was unable to communicate efficiently the staff met his needs with care and dignity. It gave me great peace of mind to know that we the right decision. Sincere thanks.
Thank you for your kind words, it was our pleasure to care for your husband. Kind regards.
My Mother recently passed away. The care my Mother received was very good. My Mum was treated as one of the family. Thank you for all your support.

My sister and I were extremely pleased with the care and support my mother received at Oak Springs. The staff were always kind and engaging. Our mother reported the food was delicious. We would happily recommend Oak Springs to families looking for extra care for their loved ones.

With over 30 years experience of in nursing and care, Oak Springs’ registered manager Andrea Lyon has a well-practised approach to providing care with kindness, compassion and dignity.
Over her career she has worked in the NHS in a number of roles including acute medical wards, hospital night teams, discharge teams and as an A&E manager supporting junior doctors. She transitioned to residential care, where she has worked in various homes as a care manager, deputy manager, and now manager.
Her qualifications range from a Level 5 Certificate in management for health and social care to various Diplomas in dementia and care for older people, as well as awards in medication management, end of life care and residential care. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys spending time with family, including her three grandchildren and her dog Teddy, who will soon be trained to deliver pet therapy to those living in Oak Springs.

Amanda’s role as deputy manager at Oak Springs perfectly complements her 11 years experience of in nursing and care. Starting as a health care assistant, she has demonstrated considerable passion and hard work, which has seen her progress to senior and managerial roles in a short space of time.
As well as deputising for our manager, Andrea, Amanda ensures that our philosophy of care is instilled across Oak Springs and works with members of the care team to deliver this. She has a number of qualifications and Diplomas in health and social care, dementia care, infection prevention and much, much more.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys socialising with friends, taking long walks in country parks, visiting the theatre and travelling when she can.

I have been an Activity and Community Coordinator with Oak Springs since October 2022.
I engage with residents and their families to help organise, plan and carry out activities and trips. I provide entertainment within the home to stimulate the resident’s needs for fun, socialisation, interaction and mobility, all whilst boosting their confidence.
I ensure our residents feel involved and valued. I enjoy learning from our residents. They teach me new things every day. I just love chatting with them and listening to their life experiences and interests. My role enables me to be creative and to think outside the box, as no two days are ever the same!

I am continually improving my knowledge and skills by learning more and more about dementia. I understand how dementia affects our residents individually and their families also. I am most proud of my role and its ability to help numerous residents every day and make a difference in their quality of life.

I am the Head Chef at Oak Springs and have been working with the team since 2017. I am the home's nutrition and hydration champion! I make sure our resident's menus offer a varied diet, following the correct portion sizes and food groups. I meet with every new resident to find out their likes and dislikes, so I can then incorporate them into the food menu.
In my spare time, I enjoy baking and going on long walks. I always enjoy coming to work, interacting with the residents, and hearing their stories. I like making everyone meals they enjoy eating, plus every resident gets a homemade Birthday cake made for them on their special day. I like to incorporate personal touches onto the cake to go the extra mile to make them smile!
