Overall Experience
My mother-in-law is very happy in the home and although she is terminally ill, her health and well-being have improved since she has been staying at Snowdrop House. The staff are very good at talking to her and engaging with her and are very kind in taking her out to smoke as she is a life-long smoker.

The staff are very kind to me and my partner and always make us feel very welcome and involved. I can't recommend this home highly enough.

Snowdrop House treated my father with kindness and respect during his time there. He recently passed after a short illness, and I cannot fault the care he received. He passed with dignity, and that was a great comfort to the family. The staff were supportive and helpful during this difficult time.

We're so glad we chose Snowdrop House. They all look after my husband very well. The food is exceptional, always very tasty. Activities are very good. Nursing staff have not got my husband's diabetes under control, the first time for many years. All in all, Snowdrop House was definitely the right care home for my husband. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for 24-hour care for their loved ones.

My mum has been at Snowdrop two years and now lives on the nursing floor after moving up from the care floor. I cannot rate this home high enough, the level of care she receives is excellent. All the staff are friendly and above all caring. I sleep at night knowing Mum is getting the best care.

On the whole, everything seems to run satisfactorily after a few teething problems. There still seems to be an issue with the food not being hot enough. The staff are friendly and helpful and overall a very happy atmosphere.

I find Snowdrop House very inviting, safe and friendly when I visit my father. The carers always ensure I am kept up to date with my dad's well being and anything that may have occurred since last visit. Staff always smiling and happy to assist whenever possible. Snowdrop House is a caring community, particularly addressing the needs of residents. The staff are very friendly, courteous and considerate at all times. This care home is well managed and is maintained to a good standard. There are many activities arranged and encouraged for residents of all abilities, even if participation is limited to watching in some instances.

Overall Experience

We had a very good experience. Lovely care home which was a perfect size, as in not too large and provided the opportunity to get to know staff and residents alike in a relaxed and friendly environment. Staff both professional and friendly and always sought to help with any queries/issues we had. We felt quite sad to say 'goodbye'. Rooms and furnishings of a good standard. Food very good and plentiful. Entertainment coordinator wonderful. All in all, a very positive experience from a family perspective. Thank you!

My father spent ten months in Snowdrop House and I found the whole experience to be easy going in regards to visiting and the communication between the staff and myself. The care home is very modern and bright and always very clean and the staff I found were very friendly and kind and always helped and looked after my father in the best way possible. I would like to have been able to mention certain individuals who were so very friendly and genuinely cared about the wellbeing of the residents. Overall I found the experience positive and would definitely recommend Snowdrop House. Thanks.

My mother lived at Snowdrop House for the last six months of her life. What struck us, most of all was how the staff treated her with dignity, a sense of humour and genuine kindness. Mum very quickly felt at home - due mainly to the fact that she liked the staff. While the facilities are great, Mum particularly enjoyed the activities and had a go at things I never thought she would - a tribute to the energy and enthusiasm of the staff organising the activities. As relatives, we were always welcomed and felt included in her care. In her final days, the staff showed real sensitivity and tact at a very difficult time, for which we're very grateful.

Every single member of staff has been unfailingly kind and thoughtful to both my father and to us, his family. The medical staff have provided such relief and good, steady professional advice which helped prepare us for the next stage of Father's life. The staff at Snowdrop House are wonderful. During the time Mum stayed at Snowdrop, our mum was cared for with love and kindness. In such difficult times, we were always greeted with a smile when we visited, and we felt secure that Mum was happy and well-loved by the team. Communication was excellent, and we were well-informed of any routines and events. We have such special memories of the Christmas Carol Concert in the garden - to share in the joy of both staff and residents was wonderful! We will always be grateful that Mum was able to spend this last phase of her life at Snowdrop, being cared for by such an amazing team. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Clare Crow
Clare CrowJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2014

I have been working in the care sector for 20 years, qualifying in Cambridge and specialising in respiratory and end-of-life care. In my career so far, I have undertaken a wide variety of roles all over the country, including a care case manager for the East of England. I have also worked for the prison service, a wide range of hospitals and care homes, and people with challenging behaviour. I have also been awarded an Accreditation ‘Bronze’ in Nutrition and Dietetics.

I started work with Care UK in September 2014, and I believe that to be an effective team member, you need to have a positive attitude, be caring, respectful and approachable, and have a good sense of humour!

My favourite part of the working day is motivating the staff to ensure the residents are the main focus, creating memorable moments, laughter, and joy. My biggest professional challenge so far has been saving a person's life and then continuing to watch them grow and flourish.

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, spa days and have a huge interest in guide dogs and caring for animals.
