The staff were endlessly patient with my mum - who could be very rude at times! They cared very well and coped with her growing confusion as if she was part of their family. Several of the staff became real trusted friends to Mum during her last days.

My mother spent the last five years of her life at Snowdrop House care home. She was very well cared for, happy and at home. I would strongly recommend, especially Adams Suite (the nursing care floor).

My mother has been in this home for nearly three months. She has settled amazingly well. I live close enough to visit a few times a week and bring her to my home once a week; she's happy to come out and happy to go back! Every time I go in, I am welcomed and made to feel able to join in if my mum is at an activity - which is very rewarding. Cannot fault the home at all - the staff are all incredibly kind and supportive!

Can only say from my personal experience that Snowdrop House have treated my father with great care and compassion. The staff have been professional at all times, and I feel very fortunate that my father is placed at Snowdrop House. My father is extremely happy there, and I would have no hesitation in recommending to family and friends.

As you enter Snowdrops House, you are immediately greeted by a cheerful receptionist sitting in a bright, modern foyer. After signing in, we were helped to find our relative. Walking through the home, we felt as if we were in a four-star hotel. It didn't feel at all institutionalised and smelt of fresh air and cleanliness. Our relative's room was beautiful, with modern furnishings and decor. It was spacious and bright with an excellent wet room ensuite., Her room looked out onto the pretty gardens and mature trees, where she could sit in the sunshine. On leaving Snowdrop Hosem we passed the dining room and were impressed with its look of a proper restaurant with white tablecloths on each table. The menu for the day was varied and tempting. Our relative, whom we visited today, looked very well cared for being clean in body and dressed with her hair looking pretty. She was happy, rested and enjoyed the peace of Snowdrop House after the noise of hospital. Consequently, her anxieties have vanished and she's enjoying her stay amongst such caring staff. Out grateful thanks to you all for a job well done.

The staff at Snowdrop went out of their way to find out who my mum was and what she liked doing and gave her so many opportunities to enjoy her life again.
Disease had forced my mum to give up so much that she had enjoyed, at Snowdrop, she was able to rekindle many of her interests, and it was lovely to see my mum thriving once again.

The staff at Snowdrop gave my mum a wonderful last year, for which I can never thank them enough.

All staff were very caring for the whole time of being there. Any events of importance were communicated, especially during the Covid-19 issues. The staff were all conscientious in keeping themselves and the residents safe. Their following strict guidelines was challenging but much appreciated.

My wife went into respite care for two weeks from Friday 11th February 2022. Two days before, I was taken round the first floor. I was so impressed by the standard of the room, the atmosphere and how happy people were, the care and patience of the staff. The manager answered all my questions and considerations. I am more than happy for my wife for long term care. A very grateful husband.

In my experience of the three years, my relative was at Snowdrop, the staff have been caring and interactive. Any worries have been addressed and resolved. The residents are able to talk to the staff and are encouraged to join in with activities. All in all, a lovely environment.

My best friend of 40-years has been at Snowdrop House for a while now. All through this time, the staff, who also have had to cope with the Covid lockdown, looked after her as if she was their nan. Whenever I phoned because she was unable to use her mobile, whoever answered the phone, straight away offered to take the phone to her. Her family are always delighted with the way she is looked after. The staff are kind, thoughtful, and the care home management team always put the needs of the residents first. Bless you - you are all wonderful.

My mum was suddenly diagnosed with a brain tumour and went from living independently to needing palliative care following hospital discharge.
Mum thought she had come to a hotel; she loved the room, and nothing was too much trouble for the care staff.
Mum, unfortunately, deteriorated quite quickly just a few months, and eventually became bedbound, and at times very distressed and agitated due to her condition. The nurses and care staff could not have been more attentive, with time, patience and understanding.
Support was also there for us as a family; we could ring anytime and speak to the nurses, and they would contact us should they feel the need.
The last weekend of Mums life, I stayed the night, and Mum was treated with dignity and respect.

It’s such a hard decision to have to get care for your parents, but the nurses and the care team are a credit to the company. I honestly felt they had got to know and loved Mum. As a daughter, I could ask for nothing more.

We couldn’t be more happy with the care our Mum receives at Snowdrop house.
She is well cared for by professional, polite, friendly staff in a happy home environment.
She is always happy when we visit and the staff have obviously helped her so that she is well dressed, clean and her hair is tidy.
We know that she participates in many of the stimulating activities provided and loves the food prepared by the catering staff.

All the members of staff that we have ever come into contact with have always been happy to talk to us and keep us informed about our Mum.

I am so thankful my mother spent her last few weeks in Snowdrop House. We spoke to her daily, and she only ever had good things to say; she said the staff were so lovely to her and she had everything she wanted.
At the end, we were able to spend some precious time with her, for which I will be forever grateful.
The staff treated Mum with dignity and compassion.

Knowing all this has helped make a difficult time more bearable.

Clare Crow
Clare CrowJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2014

I have been working in the care sector for 20 years, qualifying in Cambridge and specialising in respiratory and end-of-life care. In my career so far, I have undertaken a wide variety of roles all over the country, including a care case manager for the East of England. I have also worked for the prison service, a wide range of hospitals and care homes, and people with challenging behaviour. I have also been awarded an Accreditation ‘Bronze’ in Nutrition and Dietetics.

I started work with Care UK in September 2014, and I believe that to be an effective team member, you need to have a positive attitude, be caring, respectful and approachable, and have a good sense of humour!

My favourite part of the working day is motivating the staff to ensure the residents are the main focus, creating memorable moments, laughter, and joy. My biggest professional challenge so far has been saving a person's life and then continuing to watch them grow and flourish.

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, spa days and have a huge interest in guide dogs and caring for animals.
