Timken Grange is located in the village of Duston and the home is purpose-built and finished to a very high standard. The home continues to welcome new residents for permanent and respite care. The home is built on the site of the former British Timken Factory.

Timken Grange is proud to have achieved Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) accreditation to provide personally tailored support for veterans.

The home provides friendly and comfortable residential and dementia care for up to 66 residents in single en suite rooms with wet room provision. Timken Grange's facilities include a cinema room and a coffee shop area as well as cosy, quiet lounges where residents can relax and socialise.

Putting residents at the heart of everything they do, the dedicated care team at Timken Grange spend time getting to know their residents, and work with them and their loved ones to create detailed care plans that ensure their needs are met, now and in the future. They strive to ensure all aspects of the service provided is focused on individual and compassionate care, with respect and dignity at the forefront.

Sadly Dad was only in Timken Grange Care Home for a week before he was taken back into hospital and passed away. We feel sad that he never truly experienced life at Timken. We were looking forward to becoming part of the Timken family! We would like to thank everyone at Timken for their support, care

My mother has been a resident of the care home since July 2018 and since the transfer of ownership last year, we have seen changes for the better. I often see directors and members of the management team at the home who are always engaging. I am always welcomed into the home for my visit, which has
been difficult through the Covid-19 pandemic and as she is at the end of her life. Since the new manager arrived, the manager has gone out of her way to ensure that my mother's needs have been met; nothing is too much trouble and she is passionate about working at the home, being very hands-on and engaging with family members and all members of staff/management to ensure that the home provides the best care for residents. The manager shows empathy towards all residents and has a great team of senior staff members around her who share the same commitment, all of whom I have got to know and ensure that my mother is kept comfortable. I feel assured at all times that my mother is in the best place. Well done TG.

My mum has been in Timken Grange for a couple of months, having been previously in a care home for one month, which she hated. From our very first visit, the staff have been most welcoming, courteous, and polite. The rooms are equal to a very good hotel chain, the food is varied and ample. The overall

Our mother lived at Timken Grange for two years, until her death. Our family is full of gratitude for the care and love she received. She arrived withdrawn, reclusive and confused. The Care and Lifestyle teams deserve great credit for how they helped her into better habits and coaxed her into sociability.
Her smile returned and she would often tell us "I love it here." Staff enjoyed learning her story, making her laugh, holding her hand. As Mum's dementia accelerated and she could do very little, staff would sit with her, play her favourite CDs, help her eat and drink, bring the therapy dog to see her - even sing to her. The management were outstanding in the Covid pandemic, finding ways of being very protective of residents without being insensitive or heavy-handed to relatives. We would recommend Timken Grange wholeheartedly to anyone wishing excellent, compassionate care for their relative.

Leadership poor. Very little actual care or record keeping. Poor especially from the management team. Tendency when things go wrong to blame the resident. There is a poor defensive culture and lack of training for staff. Unfriendly for the most part and too much emphasis is placed on looking ‘good’

My mother moved into Timken Grange 2.5 years ago when she was unable to live independently and needed care. The staff made her welcome and encouraged her to participate in various activities. Having her hairdresser regularly was very important to her wellbeing. Being confined to a wheelchair, a highlight
was to be taken out in the cab, stopping for ice cream. The standard of care she received when she entered end-of-life care, was excellent, being treated with the dignity she deserved. I would like to thank all the staff for looking after her so well, during very difficult and challenging times.

I cannot recommend this care home enough. The facilities are excellent, but more importantly, all the staff were kind, friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to give my father the support he needed.

Timken Grange has achieved a very high standard of presentation and implementation of a caring package. It can be easily added to any shortlist of 'World Class' care facilities, and it truly is a 'home from home'. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone for the support, care and provision of
their loved one's needs. Staff really do care, and demonstrate this in many ways, right down to the smallest (often very important) details. The facility is spotless and is currently undergoing a refresh of most rooms and general spaces, and after only 3 years since opening. How many other homes could match that? Food quality, choice and presentation is of a very high standard and includes the old favourites as well as newer dishes. Entertainment is frequent, varied and fresh whilst providing an opportunity for residents to enjoy new experiences such as flower arranging or cake making. Just visit and absorb the welcoming atmosphere and surroundings. Superb!

Timken Grange hosted a family fun day on 29th August 2021, inviting two family members of each resident to a garden party. The Timken team pulled out all the stops and created a fabulous event, full of joy. Although the Timken team has been exemplary throughout the pandemic in doing what they could
to ensure continuity of visits within legal guidelines, it was amazing to have a larger get together (Covid guidelines were respected, visitors wore facemasks inside and took lateral flow tests) and have a chance to spend quality time with loved ones. Timken has a Lifestyle Team, who attend to the 'fun stuff', arranging entertainment, activities and trips out. For this event, they'd arranged circus performers, live music and a BBQ. The theme was 'The Greatest Showman' - the staff dressed up in fantastic outfits. My one-year-old daughter came too, it was so sweet to see her playing with children of the Timken staff - equally as kind-hearted as their parents. Thank you Timken.

My mother was a resident at Timken Grange for 20-months. Her care during that time was consistently excellent, there were some issues around laundry, but these were always resolved pleasantly and swiftly. My mother had vascular dementia and gradually deteriorated becoming more unwell. During the last
few weeks of her life, the care and kindness she received knew no bounds. The staff team were absolutely incredible and helped to make her last few weeks as easy as possible for both her and us the family. If I was dying and I couldn’t be looked after at home, I would move into this home, providing it was still the same staff. The only bump in the road came from some of the nurses who came from outside the home to treat my mother, and some of them did not listen to the care staffs’ request re medication, which I found difficult, as the care staff were with mother 24-hours a day, not just coming in for 20 minutes each day. I cannot recommend this home highly enough!

Having extensive experience visiting relatives in other care homes, Timken Grange stands head and shoulders above the rest.
The staff show such compassion for residents and from the first moment I visited, I was struck by the sound of laughter.
During the recent pandemic, I have been in awe of the
team, going above and beyond to keep our loved ones safe, working tirelessly under enormous pressure. With visiting not possible, the team installed new technology and increased communications with families, doing everything they can to keep us in touch with loved ones, and them with the outside world.
The Lifestyle Team are ingenious in their invention of activities designed to entertain the residents – this didn’t stop during the pandemic, they just had to think more creatively!
When we can visit safely again, I look forward to joining my cousin for lunch or tea – Timken has lots of cosy corners for private conversations and guests are always made to feel welcome.

During the COVID-19 period, the staff at the home have all remained positive, cheerful and have worked to the very best standards to make my mother's continued stay enjoyable and fulfilled. They have worked to keep my mum informed, occupied, interested and cared for as well as doing their very best

We as a family are delighted to share our findings for the remarkable care home Timken.
We recently placed my Mother-in-law within their care and are completely bowled over with how splendid it is. Mum was reluctant to give up her own home initially and with the warm welcome and support of the magnificent
staff, the transition has been painless.
The staff have gone above and beyond to ensure that Mum has settled in despite restrictions of COVID. It is a dazzling beacon of wonderfulness with delicious and nutritious food even a glass of wine if wanted. It is immaculate and high-quality fittings to all rooms. An abundance of activities that are personalised to Mum. Hairdressers on site. GP just across the car park. A cinema, and so the list goes on. If you are looking to find the ultimate care package for a loved one, please stop and look at this one, it has it all.

Louise

Louise Mulvany

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2019

My name is Louise, I have four grown-up children and four grandsons, I have worked in the health and social care sector for 40 years,


I started my care journey when I was in the Girl Guides working towards my care badge, every weekend I would go to the local hospital and sit with the elderly patients and assist them with eating, drinking and read to them, after I earned my badge I continued to go every weekend until I was old enough to get a job in the care sector.


I started as a carer and have worked my way up. Since arriving at Timken Grange nearly seven years ago to take up a role as a senior carer I have progressed to medication manager, deputy manager, care manager and now home manager.


I am passionate about the care we provide, and our bespoke approach to each individual care needs which is provided by our fully trained care team. Whilst already having various qualifications within the sector, I am currently studying for a BSc Honours in Health and Social Care. I am excited to be utilising my skills and being able to further my career.


Being able to support my team, creating a great place to work and helping them embark on their own careers in care is important to me. I am driven by my passion for the elderly and providing exceptional care wherever I go. I am truly dedicated to the improvement and advancement of care techniques and delivering these in an environment that puts our residents at ease, thus allowing them to have their freedom and enabling them to live an enriched life.

I am the deputy manager here at Timken Grange. I began my journey here as a carer back in 2018 and have worked my way up the ranks, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience in the process.


I have a passion for care and do my utmost to ensure that all of our residents receive person-centred care to the highest standard. I am immensely proud to be part of the team here at Timken Grange.


I'd like to tell you what I do in my spare time, however, I have a very busy life as a mother of four children, so spare time is very rare. I love spending time with my family and doing the things that my children enjoy.

Caroline Rielly

Job Title: Administrator Joined: 2022

I have worked as a Business Support Manager at Timken Grange since May 2022 and previously worked as the administrator for another Care Home in Wellingborough for 6 years, so have been in the industry for 7 years.

I worked for many years before this in the property business, and when I moved from London to Northamptonshire working in the care industry was a real eye-opener but saw it as a whole new challenge.


The way I see it is we will all hopefully get to old age at some point, and will then all need help and assistance, and I think it is lovely to see the residents continue to enjoy and have a good quality of life.


I am currently very happy in my position as Business Support Manager, but if ever there was a position that came up to be a Region Business Support Manager, I would be interested.

Emma Gardner

Emma is a proud mother to Lewis who is soon heading off to New York to do a 6 month placement as a chef. Emma loves to socialise, she enjoys a pint of Fosters, and spending time with friends and family, in her spare time. Emma goes out of her way to ensure all residents' nutritional needs are met and their taste buds tantalised. She is extremely funny and keeps the whole team entertained.

Hollie Butcher

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping Joined: 2021

Hollie is a proud mother to daughter Emily and loves to spend time with her whenever she has the chance. Hollie sings wherever she is in the home, thankfully, she has a nice voice. She is very thorough and organised in everything she does, and will turn her hand to anything that needs doing in the home, even decorating rooms, which she does to an impeccably high standard.

Mark

Mark Glazebrook

Job Title: Handy Person Joined: 2024

Mark is a great asset to Timken Grange, he can turn his hand to most things and takes pride in keeping everything in the home in tip-top condition.


Mark loves to watch Formula One in his spare time. Mark has been around in Timken Grange since his father was cared for here, when his father passed away Mark decided to apply for the role of Handy Person, as he enjoyed being in the home. Mark hasn’t been with us long but he is already very much part of the team.
