Before choosing PTC for my wife (dementia for 12 years, and then a stroke) I surveyed many other care homes from Kent to Wiltshire. Our family and I have never regretted choosing PTC. If asked to rate the home over the last 3 years I would award it over 9 out of ten. Our family of 25 souls agree.
It would be difficult to recommend any one of the staff: each one is a carer, including the cleaning staff. That's impressive.

It all stems from the leadership of the manager. Having trained hundreds of leaders I know one when I see one.

My mum was in a very confused and distressed state before starting at Pear Tree Court. From the moment Mum arrived I knew that the care would be outstanding. The staff have taken the time to get to know Mum as well as her wider family. She has settled quickly and loves to take part in all the fun and engaging activities. Mum is more talkative and it is joyful to see her regain some of her interests. The staff have quickly made adjustments to her bedroom to aid her mobility and they even found time to position her favourite paintings on the wall. During this heat wave they have been incredibly proactive in ensuring residents her well hydrated, fed and kept cool. The communication between the care home and myself is excellent and I can see how much they care about all their residents when I visit Mum. Thank you Pear Tree Court.

My mother has been receiving exceptional care at Pear Tree Court. She moved there at the beginning of May after spending six weeks in hospital, and before that a stay in another care home that simply wasn't equipped to support her dementia and mental health needs. The difference at Pear Tree Court has been remarkable. The standard of care is truly first class. Her room is always clean, bright, and comfortable, and when she becomes distressed or anxious, the carers take the time to sit with her, reassure her, and help her feel safe. She also enjoys many of the activities, which keep her mind engaged and give her a sense of purpose. It brings me peace knowing that my mum is in such capable and compassionate hands. The staff don't just care for her - they also make the effort to get to know the family members who visit, which means more than I can say. I only wish I could give them more than five stars. I'm hopeful that this will be Mum's final home, as she is now really settled

The last 6 months have been awful for mum and our family. Making sure mum got the help she needed has been my main priority. Watching mum go through all the changes and daily challenges has been the most upsetting experience anyone could face.

Once we had visited Pear Tree Court - I knew mum would be happiest here. They have removed so much pressure from me and mum has made some really lovely friends. She is well looked after and the happiest we have seen her in a long time. They involve mum in all their activities, have day trips out and I know mum is safe now.

The staff went above and beyond to help me get mum a place at the home. They were there every step of the way. The support has been fantastic and I have been so grateful for their kindness.

My brother arrived at Pear Tree Court on 21 April, he passed away 1 month later. I visited Kevin on most days and I believe that he was well cared for with dignity and compassion. I'm pleased that Kevin was able to spend his final days in a friendly, comfortable and caring environment. The majority of staff with whom we interacted were kind, understanding and patient and I'm grateful to them all for making Kevin's short stay as comfortable as it could be despite his declining health.

The facilities at Pear Tree Court are modern and extensive, catering for a wide variety of residents' needs and interests. I'd happily recommend Pear Tree Court to any family or individual considering placement there.

Since moving in to Pear Tree Court my husband has settled in quickly. The staff have been very caring and helpful and taken time to find out about him.
There has been a good range of activities ranging from gardening, celebratory tea (VE day) and musical performances.
His room is spacious, airy and clean as are the communal areas.
The cafe and garden areas provide are pleasant recreation space and change of environment.

I have been very happy with the care he has received and would recommend Pear Tree Court to others.

My father required home care amid a rapidly changing situation while being looked after by my mother, at home. The care requirement came from both my father's needs and immediate respite for my mother. Pear Tree Court were able to offer appropriate care almost instantly, for which the family is very grateful.
The care provided was exactly what was required for my father and mother. The home's locality was perfect for daily visits from my mother and many of the family.
Whilst my father was destined for another home that was pre-agreed, Pear Tree Court staff played an essential role in coordinating a smooth support hand-over and appropriate discharge routines.

My father's staff care during his brief stay was of a very high standard, providing much relief to his family under clearly stressful circumstances. Thank you very much, Pear Tree Court team!

Overall Experience

My mother was a resident in Pear Tree Court for over 6 years. She started on the dementia floor when her journey was in its earlier stages. During this time she was encouraged to remain active and supported in what she believed were her daily cleaning and organising activities. The staff were patient and understanding even when Mum was confused as to which was her room and would often be found in the wrong room. As her dementia progressed and her health deteriorated she moved to the nursing floor where she received excellent care and support. Whilst the facilities in the home are excellent, from our experience the calibre of the staff is key to the quality of the care home. Almost without exception the staff were brilliant and were clearly dedicated to providing a level of support and care that family are not able to provide. Mum was always treated with dignity & kindness, and was very fond of a number of staff members who had been at Pear Tree for the vast majority of her stay

I am grateful for the care my husband received while he was in residence and living with dementia.

The staff really are adept at keeping their residents amused and entertained, and although my husband kept to himself, he was still able to interact with them. He seemed happy and relaxed, he seemed to enjoy his time there.

From the moment Dad moved in, the care and support from everyone at the home has been exceptional. The staff are warm, responsive, and genuinely caring, which gives our family enormous reassurance.

One of the things I appreciate most is the daily communication. We regularly receive photos of the activities Dad has been joining in with, which is incredibly comforting and makes us feel connected to his day-to-day life. The weekly emails outlining the upcoming activities are also a lovely touch and show how much thought goes into keeping residents engaged.

Management and staff are always informative, approachable, and very hands-on. It's clear that there is a strong culture of care and attention throughout the home.

Dad is often taken out in the minibus for trips to garden centres and coffee shops, which he really enjoys, and it's wonderful to know he is still getting out and about. The food offering is also excellent and clearly prepared with care.

Overall, I feel genuinely comforted

It was rewarding to know my grandparents were being looked after to high standard and all staff were friendly and the activities done daily by the team were amazing.

In December 2025 after living at Pear Tree Court for one year, my mum had a stroke. When she was discharged from hospital, the nursing and care teams worked hard to understand the changes in Audrey's abilities and needs. They adapted their approach to Audrey's care so that she could regain most of her speech, the use of her hands, regain a little mobility and the ability to join in with social activities. We could not have hoped for a better outcome.

Pear Tree Court was a fantastic home for my mum who has just had a 2 week stay for respite. (We have also booked a future stay).

We felt heard right from our first contact and were welcomed in. It really does feel like a big family of love and support where needed. All the staff were great and patient and it was a relief to know that my mum was safe and well cared for. John deserves a special mention as he is so attentive and caring which makes a difficult decision a little easier. Thank you Pear Tree Court.

From the initial visit to Pear Tree Court, everything felt just right for my father's needs. The Management are extremely knowledgeable and efficient, and their staff are diligent, friendly, and always willing to help. The space is clean, bright and cheery and there's an airy environment throughout. The Café, located near Reception, offers a pleasant spot to relax with your loved ones and overlooks the lovely courtyard garden. There are also many daily activities should the residents wish to participate. At the time of my father's admission, we were unsure how long his stay might be for, and it was of great comfort to learn that should he require additional nursing needs then this could be available to him at Pear Tree Court. It takes time for the care staff to get to know their residents, however they have been really wonderful, and my father has settled in very well.

From the very first day when I contacted Pear Tree Court to enquire about availability at the Care Home I knew Mum was going to be happy here. Pear Tree Court offers everything anyone could require - from excellent care, entertainment, activities, food and good company, whether that be from the other residents or a chat with staff members. The Home itself is spotlessly clean and Mum was encouraged to bring any home comforts with her. Mum loves the garden and enjoys a wander round it to see the flowerbeds and sit and have a coffee outside while the weather is still good. She also loves seeing the children at Baby and Toddler Group which is held fortnightly to encourage interaction between residents and families. Mum was struggling to manage her own home and her failing eyesight hindered her mobility, and when we first brought Mum to have a look round Pear Tree Court her words were "I should have done this years ago!".

My mum has been at Pear Tree just over two weeks and the change in her is incredible.
Despite a lot of care visits at home my mum was still struggling, since being at Pear Tree she is doing so much better, she is now getting dressed each day, eating and drinking the lovely food and joining in lots of the activities on offer.
The staff are wonderful and with lots of encouragement mum is now enjoying life in a way that is suitable for her situation, seeing the smile and little grins on her face again is so heart warming.

It was a very tough decision as a family to make this move into care for mum a very emotional journey for us, the staff have understood this and been very supportive to the family as we navigated this process. The support we have had during the visits to choose this home and since mum has been a resident has been fantastic. Thank you Pear Tree

Aimee SparksJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2023

I’m a qualified Registered General Nurse with 15 years of experience in both NHS hospitals and private care nursing homes. I was keen to join Pear Tree Court because of Care UK’s very good reputation and the development opportunities that are available. I was looking for a service to manage on a long-term basis.

Previously, I was an Interim General Manager and Clinical Quality Assurance Manager for a provider that supports residents with complex care needs. I also have experience working as a turnaround manager, where I supported a nursing home to move from ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Good’ in six months by building an entirely new team. I have a passion for nurturing colleagues, and it makes me proud to see my team shine.

As a Home Manager, I believe it’s important to have a fair but firm approach, a willingness to listen and a supportive and reassuring management style. You need to have an open door for colleagues and compassion for residents. Supporting my team to ensure excellent care is provided to keep residents and their loved ones safe and happy is the most important part of my role.

My favourite part of being a Home Manager is caring for residents on a long-term basis. This means I have the opportunity to really get to know them and their families and understand how to support them to live fulfilling lives.

When I’m not working, I enjoy taking trips with my family, showing my two daughters different cultures and areas of the world.
