Our 98 year old friend was admitted here after we became very concerned that she was no longer able to care for herself - wasn't eating, depressed and at risk of falls. She has been in Grosvenor Manor for a month and the change is amazing. She is alert, taking an interest in everything, eating everything
she is given, enjoying the other residents' company. We feel so relieved that she is now happy, putting on weight and being so well cared for by all the staff.

As carers for our 98 year old neighbour, my wife and I had become very concerned about her condition. She simply wasn't coping living alone in her own house and the limited day care we were able to arrange was not enough to meet her needs. Having agreed to go into Grosvenor Manor for short-term respite,
she has thrived with her physical and mental state transformed in one month. We are delighted she will now be staying permanently.

I can't thank all the staff and management at Grosvenor Manor for all their kindness and support in caring for my mum during her two years there. They did their utmost to keep my parents together despite my dad's worsening dementia. When he sadly had to be cared for elsewhere, they were unfailing kind
to my mum, who missed him badly. The gentleness and care she received, especially in her last few days and weeks, was wonderful. My sister and I always felt confident that she was in very safe hands and would be looked after and comfortable.
Reply from Grosvenor Manor Care Centre Hughes, Home Manager at Grosvenor Manor Care HomeThank you for your review. I will let the staff know that you have submitted a lovely review, although I am sure they already know your thoughts on how we looked after your mum and dad. Thank you, and we are sorry for your loss.

My mum has recently moved into Grosvenor Manor for respite care, she really likes it at Grosvenor Manor. She has said that all of the staff are wonderful with her.
As a family, we are relieved that Mum is being looked after so well, she is enjoying every aspect of Grosvenor Manor, she is eating well
and enjoying her meals and really loves taking part in the activities.
We would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone looking at care homes for their loved ones.

My mother-in-law has been in Grosvenor Manor for more than 4 years. In that time I have been impressed with the level of care she has received. The staff really do care for their residents and always engage with us when we visit, sharing any concerns or amusing the residents. I can't imagine a more
caring facility.

My mother came to Grosvenor Manor earlier this year when it became obvious she was having problems looking after herself safely. She settled well. I chose Grosvenor Manor because of the fantastic feel I got from all the staff. Recently she became very unwell and needed hospital admission. As she approached
the end of her life she wanted to go 'back home' to Grosvenor Manor where she could be in her own room, surrounded by the care staff she knew and with her own belongings instead of being in the hospital. Grosvenor Manor staff helped to make this possible at very short notice, and she died where she wanted to be. I could not recommend Grosvenor Manor highly enough. The facilities are superb, but more importantly, every single person I interacted with there was amazing. Such compassion and friendliness and care. It's where I would want to be myself.
Reply from Grosvenor Manor Care Centre Hughes, Home Manager at Grosvenor Manor Care HomeThis review is so person-centred. Thank you so much for this. The staff felt it was the right thing to do for your mother when she expressed her wishes to return to Grosvenor Manor. Once again thank you for your very kind words about Grosvenor Manor.

This was my first visit to see my cousin and I was delighted to receive such a warm and friendly welcome. Spoke to many of the staff and some residents. The staff are extremely dedicated and the care and understanding seemed exceptional and residents seemed very happy, with consideration given to their
needs. Overall, I was very impressed. The entire building exudes warmth, friendliness, compassion and competence. Undoubtedly it would seem a good example from the top! The best place I have ever visited.

Grosvenor Manor was my mum's first experience of a care home (and during Covid). She has now become a permanent resident and has settled well. The centre is very well run and the staff are lovely. My mother spent 5 happy years at Grosvenor Manor. Sadly she died last month and I want to comment on the absolutely outstanding end-of-life care that she received from the staff there. They showed so much kindness and compassion for her and did everything to make her last few weeks comfortable. I was
also touched by the care and kindness shown to me and to family members who visited her during this time.
Grosvenor Manor is a lovely care home, with a nice environment, excellent facilities, daily activities and, most important of all, staff who really care about the residents.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.990)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.990) out of 10 for Grosvenor Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.990 for Grosvenor Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (389 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 393 Ratings = 4.99
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grosvenor Manor Care Home is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 81 registered maximum number of service users is 16.2, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
