In the heart of Parkstone, Poole, Alexandra House is a safe and comfortable residential and dementia care home. This newly rebuilt home offers a pleasant and peaceful setting and a home-from-home atmosphere.

Alexandra House provides an environment where residents can feel at home, safe in the knowledge that someone is responsible for their well-being and care whilst relaxing and enjoying their surroundings with family and friends.

The home has 58 well-appointed bedrooms, all with their own full ensuite facilities. There are charming communal areas with light and spacious lounges, dining rooms, activity areas and themed lounges, which offer a bright and welcoming environment for residents and their families.

Alexandra House is a wonderful care facility... particularly due to the excellent management and caring and compassionate staff. I lead short acts of worship on a monthly basis, and the local parish church has a great rapport with this care home. The recent summer fete was a brilliant example of working
together for the common good and the benefit of the local community. Well done Alexandra House for offering such excellent care to all your residents.

My stepmother liked Alexandra House and on more than one occasion thanked me for arranging for her to stay there. Her well-appointed suite had a lovely aspect and she enjoyed the food. She appreciated the attention she received from the staff who were very thorough as she had a few medical issues. A

My 89-year-old sister liked Alexandra House a lot; the kindness of the staff "they kiss me goodnight" and the excellent food in particular. She had two months of excellent care, and she was treated with great dignity at the end. The staff were so kind to the family also, two members of staff in particular
- lovely people. I cannot fault Alexandra House.

Social services allocated my former neighbour to Alexandra House as soon as her husband was hospitalised/died.
The care there was excellent, as she deteriorated through Lewy body dementia. Visiting coped with the pandemic very well, and I visited for as long as my visits were useful to her.

Since moving to Alexandra House mu sister-in-law has received excellent care and we relatives have been welcomed as part of a family. Any queries are always dealt with quickly and graciously. She tells us that she is never going anywhere else! Surely the best testament to a very good care home.

I am extremely grateful for the care the care home and staff have given and shown my mum who has dementia. All staff have been kind to her. I highly recommend this care home, it's in beautiful surroundings and has a calm and peaceful environment.

In my job I visit quite a few clients in nursing homes. Alexandra House is so far ahead of the rest. It's spotlessly clean, no lingering smell and the decor is friendly and welcoming. Top of the list are the outstanding staff, every member of staff I've spoken to has been kind, polite, friendly and

Mum is well cared for, our only issue being when new staff don't take on individual needs or preferences leading to inappropriate decisions being made (occasionally). However, any concerns are always dealt with speedily and communication is very good.

I am always satisfied with the care and friendliness of most of the staff. Mum is happy and is always treated with respect and fondness. She was treated exceptionally for her 102nd birthday and I feel the carers really are very fond of her and they have lovely relationships. Always very clean and tidy.

Though my mother spent a relatively short time in the care home, our whole family felt a bond with the team. Nothing was too much trouble, and care was delivered with dignity, respect, professionalism and humour.
We feel very thankful that we chose Alexandra House.

“Prior to joining Care South, I worked in a residential care home for 14 years where I started as a Care Assistant and progressed to Manager of the Dementia Community. I have a number of formal qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social care and in 2021, in my previous role, I won Manager of the Year at our annual awards.


My Mum was a Community Carer and gave me the push that I needed to go into the care industry, I have never looked back and love working in such a rewarding industry because every day is different. I get to meet people who all have different stories to tell, and I love making a difference in people’s lives and making sure that high-quality care is delivered daily.


I am extremely excited for the future of Alexandra House and very proud to be the Registered Manager of such a wonderful home.”
