Alexandra House

My 89-year-old sister liked Alexandra House a lot; the kindness of the staff "they kiss me goodnight" and the excellent food in particular. She had two months of excellent care, and she was treated with great dignity at the end. The staff were so kind to the family also, two members of staff in particular - lovely people. I cannot fault Alexandra House.

The care there was excellent, as she deteriorated through Lewy body dementia. Visiting coped with the pandemic very well, and I visited for as long as my visits were useful to her.

My mum was lucky to be a resident in this wonderful home. The care she received was fantastic. The staff couldn’t do enough for her and they all treated her with compassion and respect. I would recommend this home to any family looking for care for their loved ones.

Since moving to Alexandra House mu sister-in-law has received excellent care and we relatives have been welcomed as part of a family. Any queries are always dealt with quickly and graciously. She tells us that she is never going anywhere else! Surely the best testament to a very good care home.

My grandmother recently stayed in this care home until she passed away, knowing her final few months in such a professional and caring environment made our family know that this was the best place for her. Knowing that my grandmother went with such dignity and compassion is something I will always be indebted to Alexandra House.

I am extremely grateful for the care the care home and staff have given and shown my mum who has dementia. All staff have been kind to her. I highly recommend this care home, it's in beautiful surroundings and has a calm and peaceful environment.

I have been completely happy with my mum's care. The staff are excellent. The manager and desk staff are always cheerful and helpful. I am pleased with all the activities offered and also the good variety and choice of food. It is a great relief to me to know that my mum is properly cared for and that I can see her or phone at anytime.

We've been very happy with our Mother's care in Alexandra House. She feels as though it's been her home forever. Thanks to all the staff for their efforts and endless kind acts.

Mum is well cared for, our only issue being when new staff don't take on individual needs or preferences leading to inappropriate decisions being made (occasionally). However, any concerns are always dealt with speedily and communication is very good.

I am always satisfied with the care and friendliness of most of the staff. Mum is happy and is always treated with respect and fondness. She was treated exceptionally for her 102nd birthday and I feel the carers really are very fond of her and they have lovely relationships. Always very clean and tidy.

I can not recommend the home and the staff highly enough.

My grandma went to Alexandra House for respite in December and the whole family were so impressed with the care home she then became a resident. The staff are truly caring, compassionate and so patient. My grandma very recently passed away and during her end-of-life care, the whole family was allowed to be with her. Those of us who stayed for days on end without going home were incredibly well looked after by the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, we were given food, drinks, emotional support and reassurance by all the staff. They made such a difficult time so much easier. The staff ensured my grandma passed away surrounded by her family in the most dignified, peaceful and respectful way. Staff sat with us and shared their memories of her, they comforted us when we were upset and they genuinely cared. I can never thank the staff enough for how they cared for my grandma until she passed away. Most importantly of all my grandma was so happy in Alexandra House - thank you all!

All the care team were excellent in looking after my mother for 6 weeks that she stayed at Alexandra House. 3 members of staff were more empathic. compassionate and caring to both Mum, Dad and I. Thank you.

All staff acted very promptly to access and admit Dad into respite in a crisis situation. They were so caring, efficient and professional at a very upsetting time for the family. Dad settled very quickly and seems very at home. Thank you.

Ever since I have been here since 27th January 2022. I would like to thank the home and deputy manager for running such an excellent and clean home. I found all the staff very kind and helpful, day and night.

I have been at Alexandra House for 2 years and have made friends with other residents and staff. I feel this is a lovely home and I would not want to go anywhere else. I am a happy sociable lady.

I visited with my friend who is a resident at Alexandra House for their coronation party. I can honestly say this is the best care home I've ever visited. The staff are always welcoming. The residents are happy and content. They are clearly well looked after. The vibe is calm and stress-free and I feel totally reassured that my friend is being cared for. The visit was full of celebration, joy and positive energy.
