Alexandra House provides an environment where residents can feel at home, safe in the knowledge that someone is responsible for their well-being and care whilst relaxing and enjoying their surroundings with family and friends.

After seeing the departure of the care home manager I have noticed a much better atmosphere in the home. The acting manager is much more professional and so friendly regarding contacting me with any issues there are regarding my father. I feel any conversation we have is not rushed and taken very seriously
and in a very professional manner. All staff involved with my father are all 5-star.

My husband was a resident for a four-week respite stay. He was well cared for during his stay and appeared to relate well to members of staff. Should the need for a further respite stay arise then I would not hesitate to contact Alexandra House again.

My fiance loves being in Alexandra House. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. He has been extremely well cared for and I have no complaints at all. There has been a personal problem and the staff have bent over backwards to accommodate us. If we could afford the fees then we would stay but unfortunately,
we can't. So it is with a sad and heavy heart my fiance will be leaving soon. The home have done everything they can so he didn't have to move. I wish he didn't have to.

After a 6-week respite stay, my mother had no hesitation in deciding to become a permanent resident at Alexandra House. Since being in their care she has returned to her happy, bubbly self and this is so very heartwarming to see. Before her stay she was living in a flat alone with occasional care and
had become very low with the isolation Covid19 created. The care she has received has been second to none in every area. The staff have catered to her every physical need with personal care, health-related care and her complex dietary and medical needs. Emotionally they have given her so much time and attention which she thrives on. The communication between the home and I have been exceptional. I am kept informed of everything that happens and always in a very professional and caring manner. This home is exactly what my mother needed, the staff are all very attentive and always very happy and positive which is always a relief when you are trusting them with the care of a loved one.

All-round care is excellent. Careers so friendly. They all tried to calm patients, I am very impressed. The food is very nice - enjoyable. Dining room is bright, the tablecloths are a nice touch too.

My mother has been a resident at Alexandra House since July 2019, after having a number of falls and issues at home. She has been very happy there and I have been so pleased with the level of care the care home provides. The processes and logistics of getting mum into the home at very short notice were
smooth and efficient, but the key to this home's success, in my mind, is the amazing level of kindness the staff show to the residents. The care is bespoke in nature, and the staff continually go the extra mile in their support for the residents. The accommodation is first class, as is the cleaning (mum's room and en-suite is always spotless). The food is very good, and again, bespoke to the residents' needs and wants as necessary. I cannot recommend Alexandra House enough. I have some experience of other care homes, and Alexandra House is in a completely different class to others I am aware of.

My mum spent three weeks at Alexandra House for much-needed respite. The kindness and care shown by all staff there was second to none, from our initial enquiry to the minute she left to return home. Mum really enjoyed her time at the home and left a much better person, fit and well, than when she arrived.

Mum was only a resident of Alexandra House for four months but she felt at home from the moment she arrived. This was a great comfort to all the family as we know Mum was safe and cared for when we were unable to see her due to Coronavirus. Both Mum and I were always treated with kindness and all the
staff treated Mum with dignity both before and after she had passed away, which was very moving and greatly appreciated. I was especially touched when all available staff lined up to say goodbye to Mum when she was being taken out for the last time. I will always feel lucky that Mum was in their care for her final few months.

I recently found myself in the difficult situation of needing to arrange residential care for my mother who had a diagnosis of Alzheimer's. I viewed Alexandra House and was immediately impressed by the professionalism of the manager and the friendliness of her team. Every member of staff greeted us
with a hello and a smile as I passed them during my guided tour. this warm approach continued throughout my mother's residency and fuelled the positive atmosphere that pervades at Alexandra house. I visited my mother often at unannounced times of day (and night). During my visits, I witnessed conversations between staff and residents, all of which were, without exception, friendly, kind and respectful interactions. The staff took the time to get to know my mother as an individual and when she sadly entered her end of life phase, Alexandra House staff were there to support her with dignified and pain-free care. Family visited during this difficult time and were made welcome by the staff 24/7. It is fair to say that the staff provided empathetic yet pragmatic support not only to my mother but to her family too, which was invaluable in helping us cope with my mother's circumstances.

My mother lived at Alexandra House for about 15 months. Throughout that time she was looked after extremely well in a caring, considerate and compassionate way.
In the last month of her life, she was largely unresponsive but cared for and nursed by the team at Alexandra House. Any amount of money
couldn’t have bought her better care anywhere else. Her dignity was respected by all of the team at all times. Their care, patience and attention to detail were marvellous.
It is difficult to single out individuals, the cleaners were considerate, the reception staff respectful, the caring staff on hand day and night for my mother. Their professionalism is a reflection of the leadership at Alexandra House from both the manager and her deputy.
I thank them all for their care of my mother and would highly recommend Alexandra House to anybody looking for somewhere where their loved ones are safe, respected and well cared for.

From the moment Dad was assessed for admittance he was made to feel at home and involved in the way that he wanted to be cared for. He was leaving his own home, that he loved, and that difficult transition was handled with exceptional care and consideration. All of the staff, the care staff, administration
staff, catering staff, housekeeping and management were so clearly invested in the care and wellbeing of their charges that we felt absolutely confident in leaving Dad in their hands. A relative of mine, who visited Dad, said she felt that the accommodation had a boutique hotel feel. The layout and the facilities are first class and it is clearly a building designed for purpose. Every effort is made to promote a community feel with outings and in house events to stimulate and entertain. We are so pleased that we found Alexandra House for Dad. We would not hesitate to recommend it.

Very impressed with building, wide corridors with pictures to help residents identify where their room is, all fresh and clean, love the idea of showing diners the main courses and puddings as well as having a proper menu stand on tables.
Cannot praise the staff enough for caring! Lovely relaxed attitude
to residents, joking and joining in entertainments provided. If I have to go into a care home, I will ask for my son's to put me in this one! Well done everyone, I enjoy visiting.

From the day we looked around this home to the day my mother had to leave we were treated with kindness, honesty, respect and dignity. There was always a willingness to help, advise and generally assist us in any way possible. Communication was brilliant. If it wasn't for family circumstances my mother
would still be there. It was great to know mum had various activities organised that she could participate in most days and family were able to join in too.

“Prior to joining Care South, I worked in a residential care home for 14 years where I started as a Care Assistant and progressed to Manager of the Dementia Community. I have a number of formal qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social care and in 2021, in my previous role, I won Manager of the Year at our annual awards.


My Mum was a Community Carer and gave me the push that I needed to go into the care industry, I have never looked back and love working in such a rewarding industry because every day is different. I get to meet people who all have different stories to tell, and I love making a difference in people’s lives and making sure that high-quality care is delivered daily.


I am extremely excited for the future of Alexandra House and very proud to be the Registered Manager of such a wonderful home.”
