Alexandra House

Care was outstanding and Mum really appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the lovely clean environment. She recuperated well after a hip operation and found the support staff very good. Food and snacks were very good.

I cannot praise the staff at Alexandra House for the way both my family and Mum were treated on her last day. They were so caring, compassionate and thoughtful. Nothing was too much. We were given the private time with her but also the staff were there providing their support from numerous cups of tea to hugs, tears, smiles and even laughter.

Mum was there just over a year. The staff have been amazing. They treated Mum with dignity, respect and compassion. They couldn't have done anything more for us as well. Mum wanted to pass at the home and not the hospital. It was as lovely as it could be. Mum called it her home which meant a lot to us. She made friends and joined in with things. We never thought she would. Thank you so much.

There is a lovely atmosphere in Alexandra House. The staff are warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble to them. They seem very happy in their jobs, which results in relaxed, contented residents. I would highly recommend Alexandra House.

I had a lovely stay at Alexandra House. I found the staff very helpful and kind. The food was very good.

I came for respite in May-June for 4 weeks and decided to stay as the staff are very caring and kind to me, also I have company as and when I want it. I do not have anything to worry about anything anymore.

My brother-in-law loves being in Alexandra House, the staff are first in class in all respects. Care, kindness, and thoughtful too. He feels extremely pampered. He feels safe too and no longer feels vulnerable.

The lady in charge is very helpful and has good knowledge of the practices. I feel the home is very welcoming and the staff work very hard. Also, they put on very good gatherings. The last one was the jubilee. Fantastic!

The staff were very helpful during our visits, especially with covid protocols. They were very friendly and gentle with our uncle and we could tell he was well taken care of.

The staff are doing a great job taking care of the patients. The staff seem very kind and compassionate when working with the patients. The patients seem happy and well taken care of.

All the staff were respectful and caring to my mum in her last days. They have a difficult job working with Dementia residents, but as a team, support each other to a high standard. I would recommend this care home to any friends for their relatives.

All-round lovely experience.

After seeing the departure of the care home manager I have noticed a much better atmosphere in the home. The acting manager is much more professional and so friendly regarding contacting me with any issues there are regarding my father. I feel any conversation we have is not rushed and taken very seriously and in a very professional manner. All staff involved with my father are all 5-star.

My husband was a resident for a four-week respite stay. He was well cared for during his stay and appeared to relate well to members of staff. Should the need for a further respite stay arise then I would not hesitate to contact Alexandra House again.

I have been well treated and even under trying circumstances have been treated with understanding and dignity. The staff have been wonderful, kind and gentle with me, and welcoming.

My fiance loves being in Alexandra House. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. He has been extremely well cared for and I have no complaints at all. There has been a personal problem and the staff have bent over backwards to accommodate us. If we could afford the fees then we would stay but unfortunately, we can't. So it is with a sad and heavy heart my fiance will be leaving soon. The home have done everything they can so he didn't have to move. I wish he didn't have to.

The standard of care seems to be wonderful. Very caring environment and staff. Lovely rooms and building, warm, clean, comfortable and friendly.

After a 6-week respite stay, my mother had no hesitation in deciding to become a permanent resident at Alexandra House. Since being in their care she has returned to her happy, bubbly self and this is so very heartwarming to see. Before her stay she was living in a flat alone with occasional care and had become very low with the isolation Covid19 created. The care she has received has been second to none in every area. The staff have catered to her every physical need with personal care, health-related care and her complex dietary and medical needs. Emotionally they have given her so much time and attention which she thrives on. The communication between the home and I have been exceptional. I am kept informed of everything that happens and always in a very professional and caring manner. This home is exactly what my mother needed, the staff are all very attentive and always very happy and positive which is always a relief when you are trusting them with the care of a loved one.
