Mum lived at The Burlington for four happy years. During that time the staff were brilliant - friendly and professional - and when visiting we felt very welcomed. Although some staff moved on during that time, there was a core of the team that were long-term employees which gave stability to the care.
A good programme of activities all year round which included residents ' families as appropriate. COVID put paid to a lot of the fun for a while but good arrangements were in place to visit when we could. Thanks to everyone for their care and supportive attitude.
Reply from Emma Dudhee, Home Manager at The BurlingtonYour mum's four years at The Burlington were truly special, and we're grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of her life during that time. Our dedicated team and their unwavering commitment to providing the best care possible are what make our community thrive. Thank you for being a part of our Burlington family.

We had my mother's 93rd birthday party today in your private dining room.
What a fabulous experience. We were treated so well, the food, the service, were all first-class.
We were made to feel so special and my mother had a wonderful time.
Thank you to all your staff who made today so special.

from the first point of contact there was a complete understanding of our mother's individual needs and nothing was too much trouble for anyone that we had contact with. We felt that they went over and above to ensure our mother was comfortable and settled in well.
The unwavering care and attention
to detail for all our mother's needs gave us peace of mind and confidence that she was happy and comfortable during her respite stay. Our thanks to all the staff and carers who looked after her so well.
Reply from Emma Dudhee, Home Manager at The BurlingtonWe're truly appreciative of your kind words and for entrusting us with your mother's care during her stay at The Burlington. Understanding and catering to each resident's individual needs is our top priority, and we're delighted to hear that your experience reflected this commitment. The care provided to my grandmother over the past two years has been second to none.
The home itself is welcoming, clean and homely, it is a lovely place to visit your loved ones.
The staff became part of your family and we became part of the Burlington family. All the staff are professional, caring,
kind and just beautiful people who treated my gran with love and respect.
I couldn't have asked for a better place for my gran to live out her final years.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My mother-in-law had been living at The Burlington for almost two years when she recently passed away (age 96). From the first second we came into The Burlington it has been nothing short of fantastic. All the staff appear to work really well together as a team and every aspect of her care and treatment
from them has been great. My mother-in-law's last days were made so very much better (for both her and us as her family) than we could have asked for and we really felt part of a real family atmosphere. She loved her time with you all. Thank you.
Reply from Emma Dudhee, Home Manager at The BurlingtonWe're deeply touched by your heartfelt words. It's truly rewarding to know that The Burlington provided exceptional care for your mother-in-law throughout her time with us. We're honoured to have been a part of her life, and we're grateful for the opportunity to have created a family atmosphere that brought comfort to her and your family. Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss, and thank you for sharing your experience with us.

My father loves his trips out. The boat trip on the Thames and the trip to the pub were particular favourites. I think that it's wonderful that you give the residents these opportunities. It's so very important to be able to get out into the outside world. They are so very well looked after. Thank you
very much.
Reply from Emma Dudhee, Home Manager at The BurlingtonWe're thrilled to hear that your father has been enjoying his outings. Providing these opportunities for residents to explore the outside world and be part of the community is indeed important for their well-being. We take great pride in ensuring their care and happiness. Thank you for your kind words and for trusting us to look after your father. Your appreciation means a lot to our team.

Our mum has been a resident since August '22 and once settled is very happy.
The staff's care and reassurance gives her security and comfort.
There is always a friendly welcome and staff are on hand with a kind work or a chat to enhance that family atmosphere.
The activities further enhance this
feeling of community.

I can't speak more highly about the staff caring for my mum. She has dementia and they arranged for our family, including young children, to meet in a private room to celebrate her birthday. Sandwiches, tea, wine and soft drinks were provided and we were able to have some very special time with her.
Special thanks to two staff members, you are amazing.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.949)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.949) out of 10 for The Burlington is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.974 for The Burlington is calculated as follows: ( (221 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 227 Ratings = 4.974
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Burlington is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 78 registered maximum number of service users is 15.6, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
