I found that the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. They did a lot to involve the residents and to take part in activities. The home was always clean. It was always nice to walk in, and it didn’t matter whether it was management or caters, they always seemed cheerful and knew your name. I
found palliative and end of life care for my mother to be exceptional; the staff were really caring right up to the end.

My uncle went into The Burlington during lockdown one, at home alone, he was lonely and stuck in a shell as he didn't have anyone to talk to. We decided to make the decision to move him into a care home, which turns out was the best thing we did. He is now so happy, he has a group of friends that he
has lunch with, but best of all, he is being looked after and eating properly again!

The attitude and professionalism of staff at The Burlington with whom I came into contact were always exemplary. All were very friendly and I was confident that my parents would be taken care of in a compassionate and empathic manner. Covid19 restrictions did inhibit the range of options available to
my parents and us in terms of visiting and enjoying time with them. However, there is little The Burlington could do about that but they did their very best.

My mother came to The Burlington during lockdown following a hospital stay. The transfer was very well managed and as soon as she arrived I was able to see her via video call. Since being there Mum has been shown nothing but kindness and seems more calm and contented despite her dementia. It is difficult
having limited visiting due to the situation we are all in at the moment, but when I do see her I always feel reassured that she is being very well looked after and can’t thank the care team and staff enough.

It has been an extremely traumatic time for our family and The Burlington staff have supported us through this with compassion, kindness, professionalism and humour. I feel they have really got to know my mum and her individual needs and wishes. The communication with the family has been excellent.

My father has been a resident of The Burlington for just over a year. It is a wonderful environment full of positivity, warmth, and love. My father has really settled in now and has built relationships with other residents and carers. The overall care is very good and we know that the team have been
working very hard during lockdown to maintain the residents' spirits and keep them engaged in various ways. There is no doubt in our minds that this is the very best place for my father. Thank you to each and every person who looks after him on a daily basis ensuring that his safety, well being, and happiness are maintained. This has been a very difficult time for everyone and not being able to see my father has been hard, but we know the risks the team have taken to be there every day. We will be forever grateful. We look forward to seeing you all again in the near future.

The staff are all excellent and nothing is too much trouble. We
would wholeheartedly recommend it.

From the moment we entered The Burlington we felt nothing but caring support and warmth of friendship all given in a professional manner. Their aim to make the residents stay to be "home from home" they have achieved 100%. My husbands physical, emotional and overall needs be a time of respite and rehabilitation
were met by every member of staff who were most attentive and extremely helpful carrying out their respective duties in a cheerful and caring manner. We feel blessed and privileged to have experienced such a marvellous care home.

The home is very comfortable and homely but what really puts it apart is the level of real care and consideration for the resident, not just doing a job.
Plus the food is excellent and the entertainment is very good.

I visit my friend 3 times a week and have done since 11.07.19. This home is like a 5-star hotel and the staff are very caring and polite to her and me. I have had to ask the management for help on a couple of things and these have been done. Also, the coffee and cakes are better than a coffee shop.
Many thanks to the management and staff for all their care and kindness.

I left my husband for two weeks whilst I had a rest from the 24/7 caring.
He chose a room which was an excellent choice. He said he enjoyed the food and it was obvious he was very well cared for. My daughter arrived to see him unannounced and found him taking part in some exercises in one of the
lounges.
Everyone was very kind to him and greeted him whenever they passed.
I would highly recommend this care home. Caring is the heart of what they do and the surroundings are equivalent to a five-star hotel. I would recommend this care home to my friends.
My husband was there from 8th July until Sunday 21st July 2019.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.976)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.976) out of 10 for The Burlington is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.976 for The Burlington is calculated as follows: ( (325 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 333 Ratings = 4.976
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Burlington is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 78 registered maximum number of service users is 15.6, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
