Mum has now been a resident at Halecroft Grange for some six months and has settled in well and still greatly enjoying her life there. Every time I visit, she comments on the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff who are constantly cheerful and reassuring which is certainly borne out by my own experience
of meeting them. The activities continue to engage her, but she says that if she wants to spend a quiet day in her room then this is fine and meals are brought to her as is her breakfast every morning. The improvement in her health and spirit from when she was living on her own has been commented on by friends and family who visit.

My mother passed away on July 31st after a long struggle with delirium and various health issues over many years.
I am still overwhelmed when I think of the exceptional kindness and care she received from each member of the team at Halecroft Grange. This kindness was extended to her family too. She
felt safe and appreciated how wonderful everyone was. I am so thankful she spent her last few years somewhere where facilities, food, ambiance, and care were 5 star.
I have thanked as many people as possible personally and extend my gratitude once more.

I cannot praise Halecroft Grange enough.
The service received from my initial enquiry was outstanding. One member of staff in particular was so helpful and so kind too when looking at moving my father in! She has an amazing calming influence which is just what I needed.
When my father then moved in
it was only supposed to be temporary but the care, attention, and love the staff showed him made our decision easier and he now lives there permanently.
The staff are all wonderful. Every time I’m there the kindness and attention they show all the residents is outstanding. My father has settled so well. The communication with me too has been such a help.
I really cannot praise Halecroft enough.
Huge thanks to two other members of staff in particular too! Amazing ladies!

My mum has been at Halecroft Grange for four months and I can not praise our experience highly enough. The building itself is bright and spacious and immaculately clean. The gardens are well-kept and sheltered and Mum enjoys sitting out in the fresh air with “the other girls”. The menu is varied and
Mum, who is quite choosy about what she eats, comments that she enjoys her meals. The staff monitor what the residents are eating and an eye is kept on their weight. Daily activities are planned to stimulate residents socially, physically and mentally and Mum has enjoyed two trips out in the minibus. The staff are truly wonderful and go above and beyond to provide a safe and caring environment. Nothing is too much trouble. It is such a relief to know that Mum is much happier and healthier than she was before she came to Halecroft and is being cared for by such kind and positive people.

My mother is 92 and visually impaired and after an awful experience in a previous residential home, we decided to move her from there after only a week. I contacted the manager at Halecroft Grange and we met to discuss my mother's requirements. She was able to answer any questions I had and reassure
me that my mother would be well cared for. After agreeing to move my mother there for the first few weeks confirmed it was absolutely the correct decision. Halecroft Grange is a wonderfully run residential home with lots of daily activities to stimulate my mother. Staff and residents have welcomed her and the team has worked hard to help her build friendships. My mother said the other day that the staff were perfect which says it all.

Mum moved here in April. This was daunting at first but from our very first contact, our experience has been nothing but positive. All the staff are smart and professional but above all, they are caring. Every single member of staff I have met has been friendly, cheerful and obliging. Mum’s personal
carers have definitely made an effort to get to know her which makes a big difference to her. They treat her with dignity and respect but they also take the time to chat with her like friends.
Her room is spacious and spotlessly clean and fresh. The food is varied and well-presented. Every day there are various activities and all tastes are catered for. Mum is wheelchair bound but staff encourage her to take part and make it easy for her.
Every day at 3 pm there is a ‘social’ in the Bistro which means Mum has made new friends - and so have we!
I feel confident that my mum is happy, safe, respected and well looked after. The home promotes a very happy atmosphere and I highly recommend it.

Halecroft Grange has been a literal lifesaver for my 98-year-old mother-in-law, and life-changing for us in her extended family. My mother-in-law is a fiercely independent person who, up to two months ago, had been living independently but not safely. Mentally and physically deteriorating rapidly, she
was no longer able to move safely around her home and was not eating drinking or medicating properly despite some care assistance. As sadly can happen, she was in denial about her condition most of the time-aided by short-term memory loss. We managed (eventually) to get her to Halecroft Grange for a trial-month stay. She was adamant she was only going for a trial happily for her and us after 3 weeks decided of her own volition to stay permanently. This is very much down to the staff at Halecroft Grange. If my mother-in-law had not moved into the home we were very much afraid she would be found dead or very sick in her own home. Thank God she is now safe. Recommended care.

The care for Mum has been very good over the past six years. The team are very attentive and very helpful and the environment is clean, comfortable and welcoming. It’s so important to have reception manned for a large part of the day and evening.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the team with such a lovely warm welcome.
Putting Dad into respite care was, to say the least, probably one of the most stressful things we’ve had to do! But at Halecroft Grange those stresses were completely unnecessary. Everyone spoke to us as we made
our way to the second floor, Reminiscence. We were shown the different areas and introduced to all of the staff, who were incredibly kind and understanding of our situation. My dad, I have to say, has had the best time, the best care by the best team. All the team were, without a doubt, the most caring, patient and empathetic people I’ve ever met!
They really seemed to care about dads needs and fully embraced his characteristics that come with dementia! Our family was so impressed by everyone they met, and speaking to other family members of residents, we all had the same opinion. We felt incredibly grateful to have had the experience of the whole team at Halecroft Grange. The best!

Our experience with Halecroft Grange care home has been excellent. Mum has resided in the home for a few months now and this is my second review. During that time Mum has experienced such kindness. The activities provided each day are stimulating and many (important to her and us). I looked at many
care homes in this area, alongside reviewing CQC reports. The care home was also recommended to me. I feel Mum is well cared for. Her health needs are well met and the home is efficiently run. Our experience over the last few months has been a very positive one.

My mother has only been at Halecroft Grange since February 2023 but I’ve already seen a huge difference in her confidence. As someone who has suffered from anxiety since childhood I was unsure how she’d manage with the change and being surrounded by so many new faces. I needn’t have worried. She is
a different person to when she first arrived, she’s more outgoing and genuinely seems very happy and most importantly safe there. She doesn’t sleep, has limited sight and has been diagnosed with vascular dementia so in the night when she would get a little confused and want to speak to someone there is always someone there to reassure her, to let her know the time, day etc. and ask if she’d like a cup of tea to settle her. Everyone is very caring and they quickly understand each individual's needs. It’s a relief to know she’s happier than she has been in many years. She would never go for a trip out with me but she’s the first to sign up for trips there. She really loves it, thanks Halecroft Grange.

My father has been staying at Halecroft Grange for over a year now. I am very fortunate in that I’m able to visit Dad every other day, and every visit is one that fills me with joy. The staff here are exceptional, no matter how busy their day has been they always have a smile for everyone who crosses
their path. They create a happy, caring and fulfilling home for everyone. They really get to know each person and ensure they engage in activities that suit them. This is a beautiful place, with so many beautiful hearts working hard to make sure our loved ones live out their lives joyfully, surrounded by kindness. Thank you.

‘Love visiting Dad in Halecroft Grange. He’s very happy there. It’s a happy place. The level of care, kindness, cleanliness, professionalism and friendliness of all the staff, carers and team leaders is second to none. Management and their teams bend over backwards to help us as a family with anything
we need. Dad is looked after so well. We are so grateful for the love and care he is receiving on the Reminiscence floor and in the care home as a whole.
The activities are brilliant. He receives and responds well to music therapy, quizzes, pet therapy and we even enjoyed a wonderful day with falconry.
The building is lovely too. It’s very cleverly designed for maximum safety and yet is light and elegant.
Dad enjoys the food. There’s a relaxed, thoughtful attitude to dining so that the residents can enjoy the dining experience.
Dignity is paramount for the residents. Thank you very much to Halecroft Grange for giving Dad such a good quality of life.

I cannot say enough good things about this care home. 18 Months ago, my 95 year old mother was living alone and had called out the emergency services several times during the night because her bag had burst and she was on the bathroom floor; she was admitted to hospital for an undetermined infection
and kidney problems. Our social worker determined that she could no longer care for herself and she moved to Halecroft Grange.
Today she is a different woman, she goes out to the park and does a double lap with her walker, no infections, no bag problems and plays Scrabble competitively with the other residents.
I attribute her transformation to the care she has received at Halecroft.

It was very difficult during covid lockdown, but the home did as much as possible to enable us to maintain safe contact. My mother moved into Halecroft Grange in early February. As I am sure with all new residents, she was very nervous and unsure about the move. The staff at Halecroft have been unfailingly kind and supportive of her. She has settled very well and far more quickly than we had expected. The range of activities,
both physical and mental for the residents is excellent. My mother has improved noticeably since her move to Halecroft. She is more confident, outgoing, engaged and stimulated.
The varied diet/menu and food quality is also excellent at Halecroft. My mother has even managed to put on a little weight.
All around we feel that this move has been so much more successful than we could have hoped for. It's all down to the excellent team and the way they run and manage Halecroft. Thank you one and all. You do such a good and vital job.

I was very pleased with the level of care my mother received during a respite stay. The management and staff were attentive and caring and the facilities were excellent and had a homely feel to it. I have no hesitation in recommending the care home to others.

Prior to Halecroft Grange, we had looked at several different care options for my mother.
As soon as we visited Halecroft, met and chatted with the Director of Community Relations, staff members and other residents, we knew this was perfect for my mother.
The entire process, from our initial enquiry
to the move into the home was easy and totally stress-free.
My mother has been living at Halecroft Grange for just over three weeks, initially on a trial basis.
I think it says it all when, after less than a week, she decided that this was the perfect place for her to live.
She and we are so impressed with all the staff we have had contact with, friendly, kind, respectful and ready to respond to any request.
She has made friends, is engaging in many of the activities and is stimulated and happy.
We have nothing but praise for Halecroft Grange.

Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

My name is Suzi Sumegi, I am a qualified nurse, and I have worked within the field of care for the past 34 years. I have gained an extensive knowledge base on care delivery, and throughout the years, I have also obtained a certificate in management. I re-joined Halecroft Grange after a seven-year absence, and I am thrilled to have re-joined a fabulous team. It is an honour and a pleasure to care for the residents at Halecroft Grange, and it is my ultimate goal to ensure we, as a team, deliver the highest standards of care with a person-centred approach.
