We are moving into a time of greater freedom nationally, whilst still having to protect the older members of society. The team are doing a good job of balancing the safety of residents with the freedom they crave to go out and about enjoying their twilight years. Please keep testing residents and ensure visitors show a lateral flow test when visiting. The staff are friendly, and caring and ensure that my father is well looked after.

As her daughter, I have been extremely well supported by the staff and management team and will always be grateful to them for the help they have extended to me in looking after my mother.

Not being able to take residents out and severely impeding visits is having a detrimental effect on our mother who is a resident and finds it difficult to understand why this is.

My mother moved in in early October. She can't find anything bad to say about any of the staff or the facilities. That in itself, is remarkable! She has a lovely suite with her own furniture. She's eating well again. Living overseas we, her 3 children, were all becoming increasingly alarmed at her emotional and physical decline which had been exacerbated by Covid and no longer driving. It's an incredible relief to us all to know that she is being well looked after and as happy as we have seen her in a long while.

I can’t praise the staff and care provided highly enough. They go over and above to look after my mum in what have been difficult times for everyone over the last 18-months. It’s great to get back to visiting my mum in her room again and to be able to use the excellent facilities on offer around the home; it really does feel more like a quality hotel than a care home. Regular updates have been and are provided on ensuring all residents and staff are kept safe in these strange times, and its good normality is returning for residents and visitors. My thanks to all the staff for all the help and support they give to my mum.

Mum went in to stay on a two-week respite and now she doesn’t want to come home! The service is second to none! It’s excellent! She was made to feel at ease as soon as she arrived! All staff go above and beyond and she fitted in with others residents very quickly, the activities cater for everyone. She loves the choice of breakfast and dinner menu that she can choose from, she loves all the activities that are provided and she loves her room with a kitchen and en-suite which is cleaned for her daily, mum says it’s a 5* hotel and I agree! She's looking forward to staying there again at the end of May! Big thank you to all the staff that make the elderly feel alive again!

My mother has been staying at Sunrise for respite care following a fall. I have been delighted with the care she has received from all the staff, both during the day and night. I have found the staff and management extremely helpful and very responsive to any queries. I would highly recommend Sunrise.

I have no issues with the care given to the resident, particularly during these very challenging times. Although it has been very frustrating at times with respect to being unable to visit, I feel that the very best has been done to facilitate visits when it has been safe to do so.

The above residential senior living is extremely well run, all possible care, cleanliness, kindness, activities well throughout and outstanding food well presented and all dietary need catered for. Personal needs, rooms daily cleaned, bathrooms also are daily cleaned. Care staff knowledgable and efficient.

Despite the current COVID restrictions, visits are enabled and encouraged. As a family, we can finally stop worrying about mum, as she starts to enjoy life.

The standard of care my Mum has received has been excellent. The COVID-19 has been extremely challenging and both the management team and personal carers and staff have kept me informed on a regular basis. I am confident that Mum is safe and well cared for. The staff has also done a great job of keeping Mum entertained during these difficult times. We have both benefitted from Google time video calls and 'drive-by" visits.

Having never been in a care home before, I did not know what to expect. All the staff were always pleasant and were pleased to help at all times. Within a few days of arrival I passed out and was admitted to hospital, where I stayed for 3 days undergoing a variety of tests with nil by mouth. They stated that I had low blood pressure but could not find the cause. Having had high blood pressure most of my adult life all my medication was checked and I am still recovering from this dramatic change. I have been well cared for at Sunrise of Hale Barns and am grateful for the attention received at all times.

Overall the quality of the facility is like a good hotel. The staff are caring and friendly. In particular with COVID, I have appreciated the help and communication I have had. The main issue is that the necessary use of agency staff on occasions has been difficult for my father as they don't know him or the ropes.

My Dad stayed at Sunrise for 4 weeks as his wife was hospitalised down south. The staff are amazing with residents and family and although we couldn’t go in to visit due to COVID they arranged drive-by meetings. Every member of staff cares 100% and made his stay so welcoming. He met a lot of lovely residents also. Should he need care again I wouldn’t look anywhere else, this place deserves 5 stars in every way.

My mother has been a resident at Sunrise of Hale Barns since it opened over 10 years ago, and we have noticed huge improvements since there was a change in management a couple of years ago. The most noticeable change is that the staff seem to be happier and more relaxed and in turn, this has had a huge effect on mum's happiness and wellbeing there. We suspect that this change in atmosphere has been in part due to the approach that the new General Manager has taken to ensure her staff are equipped and supported to offer the very best care for our loved ones. We suspect that General Manager's previous role as ALC at Sunrise Hale Barns has brought vital insights to the General Manager role. There has been greater attention to detail in regards to our mother's needs and better communication with our family. This has been especially highlighted in the way the General Manager and her team have made themselves available to family member's queries and concerns during the Coronavirus crisis.

We have been very happy with Sunrise and their care to date. This has continued through the current lockdown and their management of the situation. Mum has remained free of infection. We have felt she is safe and well cared for through this very difficult time. We have loved speaking to her online and "drive-by" visits have helped us keep in touch. Thank you for looking after her.

I arrived at Sunrise just over a year ago with some reservations as I like to be my own boss in my own home, so to come into an environment with many others and have rules to follow was within my remit. I have to say, I have been most impressed by the running of the home, my bedroom and the staff. I am fully immersed in the regimes, and I am actually running the weekly quiz. Sunrise of Hale Barns is an excellent establishment. They have handled the Covid crisis well. I feel the dining room is lovely, but sometimes some of the food is not always to everyone's taste. The care is good and when I was ill, (pre-covid) they were quick and efficient getting me into the hospital. Overall, since I cannot physically be in my own home, I am content to be at Sunrise.

After three and a quarter years here I must say I am very satisfied. The atmosphere is easy going and relaxing, and there is always somebody at hand to attend to one. The food and the waiters service is very good.

I have been a resident in this home for a number of years and have always felt comfortable, happy and well cared for in every respect. The management go out of their way to keep standards high and runs the home very professionally,
