My Wife Sister and I, spent the day looking at different Care Homes for our elderely Aunt.
We were so impressed with the presentatiuon of all the team and the many function suites.
Her ( my Aunt ) room reminded us of her own home.
The car quality is outstanding.
Regular updates from the Care
Centre..
We have noticed how our Aunt has settled down, far quicker that expected.
This is not due to the expert staff, but the resisdents themselves.
I would not hessitate to recomend this Car Home. 5 star treatment,

Mum seems really happy.
Staff are brilliant, caring , hardworking and will do anything to help mum. They are cheerful , it's like one big happy family.
If there are any concerns there is always someone to speak to and the manager is very approachable.
As for the home itself, rooms are light and
airy, the corridors are wide with lots of room and are well decorated. It can sometimes be quite hot but the elderly feel the cold so it's for their benefit.
On the whole we are very happy with mums care .

Our experience at RCH has been good. All staff are always happy to listen to us. Helping us to settle in to care home life as well as Mum. Mum has only been at RCH since February and we are very happy so far with the care that she receives.

My mum has been in this care home since Dec 2023 and I can honestly say she has really settled in well since day one and even made some great friends. She is well cared for and the entertainment provided is great and her care team are diligent and attentive. Mum says she is treated like a Queen and
I have no doubts about her being looked after. She is thriving and happy and I couldn't ask for more than that. Thank you everyone xx

My wife was a resident at RCH for three years, sadly having passed away a few weeks ago, so this review is written without fear or favor . i have submitted reviews previously, this one reviews the previous year but is reflective of the total stay. my wife was very contented here, the staff worked
so hard to build a trusting relationship. they also offered me support.
The food is plentiful and varied, starting each day with a full cooked breakfast. in a well appointed dining room. the activities team work so hard to provide a full and interactive weekly schedule of activities, The building itself is perfect for its purpose being built as a care home, always spotless and clean.
well kept gardens with plenty of seating.
the most important component being the staff, it is a very humbling experience knowing these lovely people who not only cared for my wife but me also, there patients and dedication is truly amazing to witness as i have on many occasions , thank you.

My mother has been in Romford Care Home for the last 12 months.
I am more than happy with the care and attention she is given there.
I have no complaints.
The staff are helpful, kind and friendly with the residents and family.
I have thought about moving mum to be nearer where I live but as she
is so well cared for I have decided to leave her as she is happy and content there.

Since my sister has been in the home, she has received the up most care and attention. She has dementia and can be very awkward at times, I find the staff very caring. My father recently moved into Romford Care Home, and so far, we are extremely happy overall. The bedroom is beautifully decorated and cleaned to a high standard. The care staff have looked after my father well and seen to all his care needs. The community nurse has been especially attentive and kept
a special eye on my father's diabetes/sugar levels and acted swiftly when needed. I couldn't wish for him to be in a better care home.

The home and staff are wonderful. My wife has dementia and the staff are very patient with her. The home is spacious with lovely bedrooms which are bright and airy. Main thing for us is safety. My wife's dementia led to her wandering whilst being cared for at home. The care home gives us the peace of
mind that she can walk in a secure place. Only minor criticism is chef has left, so there is a current dip in quality and timing of meals, which I'm assured the care home are aware of and will sort.

My mother has been in Romford Care Home for 7 years with severe dementia. She always looks clean, neat and well-cared for whenever I visit. Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.819)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.819) out of 10 for Romford Nursing Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 52 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 52 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.819 for Romford Nursing Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (503 Excellents x 5) + (98 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 607 Ratings = 4.819
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Romford Nursing Care Centre is based on 52 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 114 registered maximum number of service users is 22.8, which has been reached with 52 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I started working in the care sector at the age of 16 and was a Psychiatric Nurse for 8 years, I hold Stages 1 & 2 in British Sign Language which I enjoy using especially when I was working with young adults and children with learning disabilities. I have spent the last 6 years working within a childcare setting but felt it was time to come full circle and return to my true passion within residential care.

Job Title: Ancillary Manager Joined: 2010

I started working at Romford Care Home when the home first opened 11 years ago as a Domestic Assistant. After 4 years, the opportunity came up to go for the Ancillary Managers position. I previously studied Health and Social Care at College so this has been a great opportunity to extend my knowledge.

I currently manage a team of 10, which includes 8 Domestic staff and 2 Laundry staff.
The home has 114 rooms, so my day is always full on. I love the workflow of the job and also the teamwork side where we all pull together to make sure the residents are well cared for.

Another element of my role is being able to support other departments, I often try to get involved with our Lifestyle Team and their events.
The most rewarding part of my job is listening to the resident’s stories and getting to know them all and their families.
